Hindus made to do Mahalaya rituals in road due to DMK Govt’s restrictions

Hindus across the world marked the Mahalaya Ammavasai, the new moon day marking the end of Mahalayam fortnight

On this day, Hindus go to temples and offer oblations to the departed souls at the temple tanks situated adjacent to the temple.

Despite repeated requests made by Hindus to open temples and put in place restrictions to control the crowd, the DMK government led by MK Stalin in Tamil Nadu shut the temples forcing people to do their rituals in the middle of the road.

People were also not allowed in sacred sites Rameswaram. Police stopped private vehicles at the entry of the Pamban bridge that leads to Rameswaram island.

Mylapore Temple Tank was blocked and people were made to do rituals in the middle of the road causing inconvenience to those who are doing the rituals as well as the public.

Pope Francis has expressed his “great sorrow” for the tens of thousands of victims of sexual abuse by French Catholic clergy a day after the publication of a devastating report.

A report into sexual abuse within the French Catholic Church concluded that about 216,000 children have been abused by clergymen since 1950 and and more than 100,000 others were abused by lay employees of church institutions., Jean-March Sauvé, head of the commission that compiled the report, said on Tuesday (Oct 5),

The 2,500-page document prepared by an independent commission comes as the Catholic Church in France, like in other countries, seeks to face up to shameful secrets that were long covered up.

The Vatican said that Pope Francis’ “thoughts go first of all to the victims, with great sorrow for their wounds and gratitude for their courage in reporting” their abuse.

Pope Francis urged the Catholic Church in the country to “undertake a path of redemption.”

Pope Francis learned “with sorrow” of the contents of a report that came at the end of a four-year investigation into abuse in the church in France, Matteo Bruni, director of the Vatican press office, told reporters

The pope also prayed that the Catholic Church in France, “in the awareness of this appalling reality” of the suffering of vulnerable children, would trace out a path of repentance and reform.

“With his prayer, the pope entrusts to the Lord the people of God in France, particularly the victims, that he may give them comfort and consolation, and with justice may the miracle of healing come,” Bruni said.

The report, released Oct. 5, was written by an investigating commission led by Jean-Marc Sauvé, a senior civil servant.

Tamil Nadu: Christian fanatics in Erode derogate Hindu Gods, play with Trishul

In an atrocious incident, a bunch of Christian fanatics derogated Hindu Gods at a temple in Erode district.

A small temple is situated on the Kadambagiri hill near Sathyamangalam which has Trishuls (the sacred weapon of Goddess Amman and Lord Shiva) erected all over the place.

A bunch of young men alleged to be Christian fanatics were seen disrespecting Hindu God Amman and playing with the Trishuls.

In the video, one of them can be seen topless and picking fruits placed as offereings with the Trishuls.

After the video went viral on social media, local villagers along with members of the Hindu Munnani staged a roadblock demanding action against the miscreants.

Anas Haqqani visits the tomb of Mahmud Ghaznavi, glorifies him for destroying Somnath Temple

One of the top leaders of the Haqqani Network which is the Pakistani Army backed faction within the Taliban visited the tomb of Mahmud Ghaznavi and glorified him for smashing the idol of Somnath temple.

Anas Haqqani visited the tomb of Mahmud Ghaznavi, who attacked the Somnath temple in Gujarat in the 10th century said, “Ghaznavi established a strong Muslim rule’ in Ghazni and smashing the idol at Somnath temple. He further added that these shrines’ inspire us with freedom, pride and courage’.

Haqqani tweeted on Tuesday, “Today, we visited the shrine of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, a renowned Muslim warrior & Mujahid of the 10th century. Ghaznavi (May the mercy of Allah be upon him) established a strong Muslim rule in the region from Ghazni & smashed the idol of Somnath.”

The Taliban leader’s comment comes at a time when the Taliban government in Afghanistan wants to establish good ties with India and resume trade and other activities.

However, it is an open secret that it was the Pakistan Army and its Inter-Service Intelligence that propped the Haqquanis into top positions within the Taliban cabinet knowing fully that they represent the hardline perpetual Jihadi faction.

It must be noted that Mahmud of Ghaznavi was a mass murder and a brigand who attacked India 17 times and destroyed the Somnath temple in Gujarat. During his invasion into Somnath, Ghaznavi is said to have broken the Jyotirlinga and killed thousands of devotees who were trying to protect the temple.

The contemporary Somnath temple was reconstructed under the orders of India’s first Home Minister of India Vallabhbhai Patel and was completed in May 1951 after his death. It is also noteworthy that Jawaharlal Nehru was dead against the rebuilding of the Somnath temple which he called Hindu revivalism. 

Responding to the Taliban leader’s insensitive comment, BJP leader Kapil Mishra tweeted, “Somnath is still standing high again But cities of Ghazanavi, Ghori, Ghazni, Taimoor are perishing in poverty and hunger”.

The Taliban may have taken over Afghanistan but there are reports of people selling their children because they do not have money to buy food. Also, Anas Haqqani and his family is responsible for the death of several American troops and it is shameful that Twitter has given them a platform to spew venom and hatred.

Arvind Trivedi who played the iconic role of Raavan in Indian TV series Ramayana passed away at 82

Actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the iconic role of Raavan in the hugely popular Ramayan TV series that was broadcast in Doordarshan in 1987, died Tuesday (October 5) night following a heart attack.

Arvind Trivedi was 82 years old and was unwell for the past few months and on Tuesday night suffered a heart attack. The news of his passing away was confirmed by his nephew Kaustubh Trivedi. Ramayan was produced by Ramanand Sagar and the show was narrated by famous actor Ashok Kumar and later by Sagar who was also the director. 

Actor Sunil Lahiri, who played the role of Laxman in Ramayan, wrote on Twitter (as translated from Hindi) reads, “This is indeed very sad news as Arvind Bhai is no longer with us. May God bring peace to his soul. I am speechless I lost father figure my guide well wisher and gentleman.”

Arvind Trivedi’s career as an actor spanned over 40 years, and he acted in nearly 300 Gujarati and Hindi films and was also featured on the popular show Vikram Aur Betaal.

Actor Arun Govil who played the role of Prabhu Shree Ram said, “Trivedi ji was a very noble, religious, simple natured person and my dear friend and undoubtedly, he will go straight to the supreme abode and will find the company of Lord Shri Ram,”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too took to Twitter to remember the Ramayan actor and stated, “We have lost Shri Arvind Trivedi, who was not only an exceptional actor but also was passionate about public service. For generations of Indians, he will be remembered for his work in the Ramayan TV serial. Condolences to the families and admirers of both actors. Om Shanti.”

The series was reaired during the 2020 Coronavirus lockdown and broke several viewership records globally. This iconic television series became the most watched TV show in the world, with 77 million viewers on 16 April 2020.

Indian Air Force to acquire ISTAR programme from US under DTTI initiative

The new Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in a press conference held on Tuesday 5 October), ahead of the Air Force Day, said, India is working on the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance (ISTAR) programme with the United States under the India-US Defence Technologies and Trade Initiative (DTTI) initiative.

Once this program is implemented commanders will be able to make a clear, multi-faceted picture of the changes in the battlefield to make the right decisions as ISTAR aircraft uses artificial intelligence, integrated onboard sensors, and advanced processing rapidly and at a long-range to provide critical information on enemy movements, dispositions, and communications in real-time.

One of the most difficult things for commanders is to keep a check on the movement of mobile ground targets and this platform can help track them and it is also very useful to map natural disaster areas, monitor vessels to enforce maritime embargoes, and keep an eye on activities near borders and littoral areas.

This system comes with complete battlefield management and command-and-control processing capability which gives flexibility and in planning and executing missions.

India’s ISTAR will have multiple intelligence or multi-INT, technology, meaning data from multiple sensors across the spectrum will be combined to draw to give a complete picture and give planners more situational awareness on the battlefield as this system gives significantly more coverage than a radar-only system.

The DRDO’s Centre for Airborne Systems has been working on the sensors package required for the development of the platform and it is the same team that worked on the Netra Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft that has been split into two, with one part working on the ISTAR programme.

A Livefist report published earlier this year said the government is “all set to clear paperwork in the coming months to acquire a U.S. ISTAR battlefield and ground surveillance aircraft platform.”

It now seems with the growing threat in the Indo-Pacific, the US will supply India with one ISTAR aircraft while the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will develop the sensors package and other critical technologies for an additional four aircraft of the type and the Indian ISTAR aircraft is likely to be based on the Global Express business jet platform built by Bombardier.

Kerala registers high number of teenage pregnancy, many girls have had multiple births: Report

In a disturbing report from Kerala, it has emerged that there were as many as 20,995 teenagers who gave birth in the state in 2019 and the data also indicated the prevalence of child marriages as per a report by the Economics and Statistics Department, reports New Indian Express.

The data indicates that the most literate state in India is yet to get rid of the evil practice of child marriage despite its high ranking in social development indicators.

When the report is further dissected, it is revealed that young mothers aged between 15 and 19, 316 of them delivered their second baby, 59 their third, and 16 their fourth, says the Vital Statistics Report 2019.

The report also states that a majority of the women, 15,248, were from urban areas while only 5,747 hailed from rural areas and except 57 teenage girls, the rest of the underage mothers had only elementary education.

As many as 38 of them had primary-level education, and 1,463 had education between the primary level and 10th standard, 57 persons were illiterate and the education status of 3,298 mothers was unavailable.

Public health expert Dr K V Ramankutty said the data warrants a more comprehensive study to have a proper assessment and said, “Obviously, this is bad for the state. Early pregnancy will affect the health of the mother and baby. Also, the mother’s chances for higher education or employment would be low in such cases. A study is required for formulating a policy to address this,”.

The number of live births registered in Kerala in 2019 is 4.80 lakh as against 4.88 lakh during 2018. However, of the total 4,80,113 newborns, 2,44,953 were male and 2,35,129 female which is a significant drop in the sex ratio, and female infanticide or selective abortion could not be ruled out.

Electronic Pension Payment Order gets integrated with Digi Locker

Department of Ex-servicemen welfare, Ministry of Defence has integrated the Electronic Pension Payment Order (EPPO) generated by Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) Pension, Allahabad with Digi Locker, in order to enhance ‘Ease of Living’ of Defence Pensioners.  This will enable all Defence Pensioners to obtain instantly a copy of the latest copy of the PPO from Digi Locker. This initiative will create a permanent record of PPO in Digi Locker and at the same time eliminate delays in reaching the PPO to new pensioners as well as the necessity of handing over a physical copy.

Accordingly, the PCDA(Pension), Allahabad has been registered as a Service Provider for providing EPPOs of over 23 lakhs Defence Pensioners through Digi Locker platform, enabling the Defence Pensioners to access their EPPO from anywhere in the world.

DMK goons usurp Kariya Mandapam near Vadapalani Murugan temple, harass people to do rituals at expensive rates offered by them

Local goons belonging to the DMK have taken over the Kariya Mandapam near the Vadapalani Murugan temple in Chennai and are forcing people to do the Mahalaya Ammavasai rituals (offering oblations to the departed souls) only through expensive packages offered by them.

These men can be seen roaming around with white see-through shirt and black pant with a photo of  Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in their pockets. The devotees who visit the mandapam feel intimidated by these goons as they behave arrogantly and force people to accept their packages or leave the place.

They force the public who come to offer prayers to the departed souls to pay ₹300-₹500 to which earlier used to cost ₹30 at the Kariya Mandapam belonging to the Greater Chennai Corporation.

While one signboard warns about middlemen, another board has been kept just next to it with the name and contact number of the person that people have to contact to get their rituals done.

BJP Spokesperson SG Suryah lashed out the DMK against the harassment by the party’s goons and asked whether the HR&CE Minister Sekarbabu would take action against such atrocities by his party men.

Telangana: Villagers petition NCSC to stop illegal Church construction allegedly part of Joshua Project

Villagers belonging to the Chinna Kishtapur in Siddipet district of Telangana have filed a complaint with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) regarding an illegal Church construction in their village allegedly to be part of the Joshua Project.

The villagers belong to the Mala community which comes under the Scheduled Castes. They have mentioned that a person named Israel, from the neighbouring village got converted to Christianity and has started constructing a Church in Kishtapur in violation of the Andhra Pradesh Government Order.

They have said in their complaint that despite multiple representations made to the Mandal Parishad Development Office, concerned officials have completely ignored the appeals and are supporting the construction of illegal Church with their intentional inaction.

“Construction of a Church in a village where no Christians exist is completely an act specifically aimed at converting poor and gullible Hindus, especially those belonging to Scheduled Castes into Christianity. It raises strong suspicion among our villagers that there is an International Conspiracy is there behind this whole episode through which we, the villagers are targeted to get converted to Christian Religion, which is a part of infamous ‘Joshua Project’.”, the complaint stated.

The complaint also stated that the inaction of the District officials including the District Collector against the unauthorized construction of Church, even after multiple reminders from the villagers, raises serious doubt they being part of the international conspiracy called ‘Joshua Project’.

The complaint also points to how the Joshua Project has documented the Mala community in detail to convert them into Christianity.

“From local administration to district officials, they are treating us as second grade citizens of India, not even responding to our issues, moreover making us scapegoats in the international conspiracy of converting Hindus to Christianity. We are being threatened for raising our issues. Our Right to Live peacefully without any fear and right to have protection from the State have been suppressed thereby our Right to Equality has became questionable.”, the complaint said adding that their right to peacefully practice and propagate their religion is being hindered because of Christian missionary activities.

In this light, they have petitioned the NCSC to take action against the concerned officials and stop the illegal construction of the Church.
