Indu Makkal Katchi protests against demolition of 100-yr-old temple in Nagercoil

The Public Works Department has decided to demolish the Selvaraja Ganapati Selva Vinayagar temple near Eraniyal bridge, in Nagercoil. While this decision is being widely opposed by the public there, the Indu Makkal Katchi chief Arjun Sampath is showing his support for them.

The Selvaraja Ganapati Selva Vinyagar temple is very famous in Nagercoil and is being worshipped for more than 100 years now. The Public Works Department has sent a notice on November 30th, to demolish the temple, on claims that it is built encroaching the water body near it.

It is being reported that the Public Works Department has decided to demolish the temple as the deadline given by them has expired. The Padmanabhapuram Sub-Collector and Tahsildar also went in person and had a look at the site. The public there had requested them to drop the decision of demolishing the temple claiming that the temple has not encroached any water body, that it is not disturbing the public there and that they have been worshipping the Ganapati for so many years now.

Speaking at a public meeting in front of the temple, condemning the decision of the Public Works Department, Indu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath said that Hindus are increasingly becoming a minority in the Kanyakumari district. He also said that all major decision-making responsibilities were in the hands of Christians and therefore Hindus are being oppressed in Kanyakumari.

He added that the District Administration should interfere and stop the demolition of the Selvaraja Ganapati Vinayagar Temple near Eraniyal Bridge in Nagercoil. He has also warned that if the District Administration does not value the sentiments of the Hindus, then all Hindu organisations would be mobilised to join the struggle.

He concluded by condemning the demolition of temples in the name of development by the DMK government in the first 200 days of its governance itself. He pointed out that not one Church or Mosque has been demolished in such a manner.

DMK Functionary’s family thrashes shop for refusing to give ‘Free’ Biscuits

A video of a DMK member’s family destroying a shop in Villupuram is being shared widely across social media platforms. A DMK member’s family purchased biscuits from a tea shop in Villupuram. When the owners asked for payment, the family members went into an argument with the shopkeepers and started thrashing them, after which they also tried to destruct the shop.

Dhanasekhar has filed a complaint with the local Villupuram Police station. However, an FIR has not been filed and no action has been taken because the complaint is against a DMK functionary. Check out the video here:

Darul Uloom Deoband angry over Saudi Arabia banning Tablighi Jamaat, wants the Saudis to reconsider

There is serious anger towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance issued an order against Tablighi Jamaat and called it “one of the gates of terrorism”.

After the order was issued, Darul Uloom Deoband, one of the most influential Islamic schools of thought which is also the inspiration for the Taliban issued a statement on Sunday (December 12) criticising Saudi Arabia’s decision.

The Islamic seminary said that linking Tablighi Jamaat with bidat (religious invention) and terrorism is baseless and called on Saudi Arabia to review the ban.

Darul Uloom Deoband Vice-Chancellor Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani said  Tablighi Jamaat was only working for the well-being of the Muslim society and improving the religious observance and the Saudi stricture was wrong as the

“Despite small differences, the Jamaat is working on its mission and is popular across the globe. Allegations of polytheism, heresy and terrorism against the Tablighi Jamaat in general and groups or individuals associated with it are absolutely meaningless”, The Economic Times quoted Nomani.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which had once given away hundreds of millions of dollars to organisations like Tablighi Jamaat asked all Imams to preach about the dangers the Tablighi Jamaat poses to society.

As per the order any association with the Tablighi Jamaat is prohibited in the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs said, “His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdullateef Al-Sheikh, the preachers of mosques in which Friday prayers are held, are instructed to dedicate the next Friday sermon 6/5/1443 AH to warn against (the Tablighi and Da’wah group).”

It said, the preachers are directed to talk about four major points about the group:

The Tablighi Jamaat is an ultra-conservative Sunni Islamic missionary movement started in 1926 and now it has many members of the Pakistan cricket team who travel all over the world to spread the word of Islam.

It has about 400 million followers globally and as per a report, the US Government has been closely monitoring the Tablighi Jamaat after the 9/11 terror attack because the teachings and beliefs of the Tablighi Jamaat push Muslims towards radical Muslim organisations.

Even Russia has warned about the dangers of the Tablighi Jamaat and in February last year, authorities cracked down on the centres run by the Jamaat.

In March last year, during the spread of the Wuhan virus, the Union government announced a lockdown to prevent and hundreds of Tablighi members were detained from a mosque in Nizamuddin that included many foreign members of the Jamaat.

Congress functionary wants TN to become a separate country, DMK Govt takes no action

John Ashok, a functionary of the Indian National Congress from Tamil Nadu put out a tweet calling for Tamil Nadu to become a separate country.

On the arrest of YouTuber Maridhas, BJP Tamil Nadu chief K.Annamalai spoke at a Press Meet about how the arrest of the YouTuber was a violation of Fundamental Right. He had also added there are many who keep tweeting against the Central Government and not one arrest has been made for this purpose. Sharing this video, Political Analyst, Dr. Sumanth Raman tweeted saying, “Clear indication that there can be retaliation by filing FIR and arresting anti BJP social media users in TN by using Police from other States, if BJP supporters continue to be arrested by TN police for social media posts. @annamalai_k is throwing down the gauntlet.”

Replying to this, John Ashok, a Congress Member from Tamil Nadu has said, “I think it’s time for Tamil Nadu to become and Independent country.”

This tweet has attracted criticism from the BJP.

The MK Stalin-led DMK government in Tamil Nadu which had slapped sedition charges on Maridhas for comparing Tamil Nadu with Kashmir has not taken any action against the seditious tweet of the Congress member.

Is the Kerala left-wing government hostile towards government employees taking up the Sabarimala Pilrimage?

The Communist government in Kerala is said to have issued an anti-Hindu on November 30, saying that if any government employees made a pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple by undertaking the fast, a small sum would be deducted from their monthly salary.

Aiyappa devotees take up a fast for 41 days and also ensure that they follow all rituals in order to visit the Aiyappa temple in Sabarimala every year. This being said, the left-wing Communist Kerala government is said to have issued a notice similar to the Jizia tax issued by Mughal emperor, Aurangazeb on his Hindu population.

Speculations are that, the government has said that if any government employee fails to groom his facial hair due to the fast he has undertaken, he will become ineligible for governmental benefits. In addition, a sum will be deducted from their monthly income if they take up the pilgrimage to Sabarimala.

Further reports say that this anti-Hindu notice has been removed by the Communist government in Kerala, according to unofficial information.

Dravidian Stock becomes Laughing Stock: This is what the DMK’s complaint against Maridhas said

YouTuber Maridhas was arrested on December 9th for a tweet that came in the light of the late Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat. A DMK functionary had lodged a complaint against the YouTuber, for his tweet that compared Tamil Nadu to Kashmir.

Yesterday, the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court quashed the FIRs registered against Maridhas. Post this news, the complaint made by the DMK functionary was shared across Twitter. A comical point made in the complaint has been revealed as the complainant has said, “As a result of the offending tweet there will be hatred & enmity between DMK partymen & the separatists.”

Looks like the true intentions and reason of worry of the DMK party has come out through this complaint as the complainant hurried with it. The registration of such a complaint itself is illegal. The judge G.R. Swaminathan, who heard the case made it a point to mention that they be more cautious the next time they make a complaint.

Like BJP Chief Annamalai said, not once have DMK IT wing functionaries been arrested and it is well known that they have shared way more seditious and defaming content across social media when DMK was the opposition party. One of the sections Maridhas was booked under was 124a (sedition). The irony is that, the current CM Stalin himself has been involved in seditious speech in so many instances when he was occupying the opposition.

Even recently a tweet by Senior Congress member John Ashok went completely unnoticed and saw no opposition, even though it was clearly promoting separatist ideas. This kind of bias is not new to the DMK government.

Christian Orphanage involved in forceful conversion of girls booked in Gujarat

The Missionaries of Charity, an organisation founded by Mother Teresa in Gujarat, has been prosecuted under the Gujarat Religious Freedom Act, 2003, for allegedly forcing girls to convert to Christianity at a Christian orphanage under their control, in Vadodara.

Based on a complaint lodged by the District Social Security Officer Mayank Trivedi, the police officers went to the orphanage last Sunday and enquired the girls there. The officers also took up the investigation based on a complaint filed by a young girl from Punjab who was forced to convert, when she stayed in this orphanage.

The investigation revealed that all religious activities undertaken by the orphanage from February to December 2021 were deliberately carried out in a manner that disregarded Hinduism and the girls who stayed in the orphanage were forced to adopt Christian practices and rituals.

It was found that the girls were forced to wear a cross on their neck and keep a Bible in their rooms, apart from being forced to adopt other Christian practices. There have also been charges that the orphanage had forced a Hindu girl to marry a Christian man and that vegetarians were forced to consume non-vegetarian food.

However, Missionaries of Charity have denied these charges and allegations by saying that they have 24 girls in the orphanage and that no girl has been forced to convert to Christianity. But, the investigation has found the orphanage guilty of forceful conversion and insult to Hinduism.

Reports say that action has been taken against this orphanage under the Gujarat Religious Freedom Act, 2003. It is to be noted that those charged under this act will have to pay a fine of ₹ 50,000, and if minors are forcefully converted, then they will have to pay a fine of ₹ 1 lakh.

Madurai bench of Madras HC quashes FIR registered against Youtuber Maridhas by DMK

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday (December 14) quashed the FIRs registered against YouTuber Maridhas who was arrested by the Tamil Nadu police for a tweet that came in the light of the late Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat.

Maridhas had posted a tweet in Tamil in which he said “Is Tamil Nadu turning into another Kashmir under DMK rule?” which was subsequently deleted.

He was arrested based on a complaint by a DMK functionary named Balakrishnan and was booked under Section 124 A (sedition), 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC. Sections 505 (ii) and 505 (i)(b) of the IPC were also slapped against him.

Justice G R Swaminathan who heard the matter passed the order stating that none of the offences mentioned in the FIR have been made out in the case.

The BJP Tamil Nadu had extended full support to Maridhas and was instrumental in securing his release. In a tweet, the BJP Tamil Nadu head K. Annamalai had welcomed the judgement and assured that the party would stand with all nationalist voices in the state.

Police officials who termed 3 Youth Congress Members as ‘Terrorists’ suspended

2 Police officials who termed 3 Congress Youth Members as ‘Terrorists’ for protesting against the suicide of 21-yr-old college student Mobia Parveen, in front of the district SP office, have been suspended. Sources have revealed that Sub-Inspector R Vinoth and Grade SI Rajesh have been suspended.

The move comes after Aluva MLA Anwar Sadat lodged a complaint with Kerala CM Pinrayi Vijayan. The Chief Minister forwarded the complaint to the Chief of State Police and later directed the Ernakulam Rural Police to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

The Special Unit of the Rural Police conducted Preliminary investigations and submitted a report to the Rural SP. Based on the report, the two police officials faced departmental level disciplinary action. The Munambam DSP has been directed to conduct further investigations related to this case and file a report within two months. A report has also been sought from Aluva East SHO Saiju K Paul regarding the misconduct of Police officers.

Youth Congress members, Al Amin Ashraf, M.A.K. Najeeb and Anas Pallikuzhi, who were arrested on Friday, have been charged with having terrorist links, according to a remand report submitted by the Aluva East Police Court.

“6,000 acres of land near Hosur temple encroached”: Thiruthondar Sabai Chief Radhakrishnan

Chief of Thiruthondar Sabai, Radhakrishnan has said that all efforts are being taken to reclaim the 6000 acres of land belonging to the temples of Hosur, Krishnagiri district. Over the past few days, Radhakrishnan has been scrutinizing the details of the encroachment and occupation of land belonging to Hindu temples in the Hosur area.

The survey found that 26 acres of land belonging to the temple in the village of Koolikaanapalli, Tulla, near Hosur, has been leased out for agriculture. However, 2 lorries that were illegally going to Mines through this land have been seized and handed over to Police officials.

Radhakrishnan who spoke to reporters about this issue said, “Investigations are underway to recover illegally occupied land belonging to temples in Tamil Nadu. Similarly, investigation and survey are being undertaken in the Krishnagiri district for the 5th time now. At present, the lorries that have illegally used temple land as roads to reach mines have been seized and handed over to the Police.”

He also said that most of the expensive lands in Tamil Nadu are situated in Hosur. Efforts are being taken to reclaim almost 6,000 acres of land in this area.
