Madrasa teacher rapes two minor girls along with his relatives, releases video after non-payment of money

In another case of Islamic cleric teaching in Madrasas raping their students, the Gurugram Police on Tuesday (February 22) arrested Maulvi Mohammed Hasan and 8 of his relatives for gang-raping two minor girls and recording the crime inside the madrasa.

The rapists filmed this horrible crime and used it to blackmail the families of the victims and demanded ₹10 lakhs with a promise that failure of non-payment will lead to the video being posted on the internet.

This heinous crime came to light when the father of one of the victims came across the video of girls getting raped and sadly the video of minors getting raped has gone viral over social media by the time a complaint could be registered Gurugram Police station and registered a complaint.

However, the police have now identified the child rapist as Maulvi Mohammad Hasan, Jahulhak, Fakhruddin, Mustak, Yunus, Mustafa, Taiyab, and Waris.

The father informed the Police that the Islamic teacher who raped his daughter had demanded Rs 10 lakhs to delete the video but since he could arrange six lakh rupees, they went ahead and published the video on social media.

The rape of the minors occurred in a madrasa in Punhana, Gurugram and the girls used go to the madrasa for Islamic study. An investigation has revealed that a relative of Maulvi Mohammed Hasan named Taiyab and Waris often used to visit the madrasa and they eventually bribed Maulvi to let them sexually assault the minor girls.

Taiyab and Waris later raped the minor girls several times and recorded the act on video and continued to physically abuse the girls by threatening them to make the video public.

The rapists are now been charged under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) and the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC) as more investigations are underway.

In her post, Shalin Maria Lawrence said “There are two ways to arrest the growth of BJP in Tamil Nadu. One is religious conversion. The other is to steadfastly take the thoughts of Iyothithasar and Ambedkar.”

Shalin further added that bringing about changes in the culture and restoring (read distorting) history is the need of the hour to counter communal politics.

They have filed false charges on us for participating in the peaceful protest, sending student activists to jail who are raising their voice calls for action. We are prepared to fight the DMK government. Nowhere in the country did students were remanded for 14 days for gathering in front of CM’s residence. Drive to protect mother tongues should become a people’s movement: Vice President

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu today observed that ‘language’ is a fundamental bond that unites people and said that the drive to protect and preserve mother tongues should become a people’s movement in the country. “If we lose our mother tongue, we will lose our identity”, he added.

Addressing an event organized by the Ministry of Earth Science on the occasion of International Mother Languages Day virtually from Chennai, the Vice President called for tailoring languages to the changing needs of our times and finding creative and innovative ways to promote them among younger generations. “Children should be encouraged to learn the nuances of language through games and activities,” he opined and also underlined the need to improve the scientific and technical terminology in Indian languages.

Describing languages as carriers of our cultural heritage, the Vice President said that a language is the vital, unseen thread that links the past with the present. “Our languages are thus a repository of our collective knowledge and wisdom which we have amassed over thousands of years,” he added.

Observing numerous languages thrived alongside each other over hundreds of years in India, the Vice President suggested referring to them as ‘Indian languages’ instead of ‘regional languages’ signifying their equal status and distinct identities. “These ‘Indian languages’ are the epitome of our long-cherished value – unity in diversity,” he added.

Noting that India is home to hundreds of languages and thousands of dialects, the Vice President termed this linguistic richness as key to our creativity and expression. He also expressed happiness over the fact that NEP-2020 encourages the use of mother tongue in schools and colleges and seeks to ‘Indianise’ our education system by making it holistic, value-based and inclusive. Commending this approach, he urged the states to implement the policy in letter and spirit.

The Vice President reiterated the need to offer technical courses in Indian languages to make education truly inclusive and to unlock the full potential of our youth force. Citing the example of several developed countries such as Japan, France, and Germany that impart education in their respective mother tongues, he suggested learning from their policies and strategies for preservation and promotion of mother tongue.

The vice President urged the state governments to take a proactive stance in implementing Indian languages in every walk of life. “All states must use the mother tongue of the people as the language of administration and also as a medium of education,” he said.

Emphasising the importance of people’s participation in the governance in a democracy, the Vice Preisdent opined that this could be achieved through usage of people’s language only. He said that court proceedings should also be in Indian languages so that people could better understand the judicial process.

Stating that colonial rule has done harm to our languages, he said that after independence also, we also have not made enough efforts to do justice to our languages. Calling it a great mistake not to have resorted to usage of mother tongue, the Vice President said that it was wrong not to have shifted to mother tongues and Indian languages after the colonial rule ended. While advocating that one should learn as many languages as possible, the Vice President, however, emphasized the need to build a strong foundation in the mother tongue first. He also underlined the need to link mother tongue with jobs and livelihood.

The virtual event to celebrate International Mother Languages Day was organized by the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences. The Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr M Ravichandran, former Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, Prof (Dr) Girishwar Mishra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ms Indira Murthi and others attended the virtual event.

No, ‘Periyar’ EVR was not awarded Tamrapatra; RTI reply busts claims of ‘Periyarists’

The Central Government under the Prime Ministership of Indira Gandhi honoured those who participated in the freedom struggle with the ‘Tamrapatra’ award to commemorate 25 years of independence.

However, Dravidian ideologues and followers of rabid demagogue E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (hailed by his followers as ‘Periyar’) have claimed that such an award was presented to him for his contribution to India’s freedom struggle.

A recent RTI on the other hand busts these claims made by the Dravidian demagogues.

The question that the individual had asked using the RTI was, “In 1972, under what criterion Tamrapatra was given to E V Ramasamy Naicker of Tamil Nadu?”

The reply to the RTI filed by an unknown individual said, “Distribution of the first batch of Tamrapatras was done on 15th August, 1972 at a ceremony at the Red Fort to which 1000 freedom fighters were specially invited. Thereafter it was decided that the tampatras should be distributed at State level functions and the State Government were requested to complete this work. As far as Shri E.V. Ramasamy Naicker is concerned his name is not found in the available record of Tamra patra awardees from Tamil Nadu.”

However, there is still a record that Periyarists use to show that Periyar was also a recipient of the award. It is still unclear who gave Periyar this award, if not the Central Government.

Andhra: Villagers write to President of India opposing AP govt’s takeover of ancient Surya temple

Villagers of the Budhagavi Gram Panchayat of the Uravakonda Mandal in Anantapur Distric passed a resolution against the Andhra Pradesh government’s take over of the ancient Sri Rama Lingeswara Swamy Temple.

Sri Rama Lingeswara Swamy Temple, situated in Budhagavi village is ancient temple dating backing to the 13th Century and is said to have been constructed during the regime of the Chola Dynasty.

Following several representations submitted by the villagers and representatives of Budhagavi village in March 2010, a No Objection Certificate was issued by the Department of Archaeology & Museums, Government of Andhra Pradesh that allowed the people of Budhagavi village to carry out temple development works with their own resources.

A society named ‘Sree Surya Narayana Seva Samiti’ was registered for temple development works in 2011. The villagers have been maintaining the temple and conducting ceremnoies with the financial assistance provided by one Shri Kasibhatla Anantha Rama Sharma.

However, it came to the notice of Budhagavi Gram Sabha that the Andhra Pradesh Endowments Department is trying to take over the temple administration from the hands of the people even though the said temple was never a part of the Endowments Department officially.

In light of this,  the people of the Gram Sabha held a formal special on February 18 and passed two resolutions. The villagers have said that the whole responsibility of maintaining the RamaLingeswara Temple will be borne by village people and there shall be no interference of AP Endowments Department in this matter. The ‘Sree Suryanarayana Swamy Seva Samiti’ – a registered society that is currently looking into the maintenance of the temple will take this responsibility in the future too.

Following this, the villagers have now written to the President of India to issue orders to the Government of Andhra Pradesh to maintain status quo in the maintenance of the temple.

President Ram Nath Kovind conducts Fleet Review as the Indian Navy demonstrates new capabilities

President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Monday (February 21) conducted the Fleet Review off the Visakhapatnam coast in the Bay of Bengal where the Indian Navy demonstrated its new capabilities and the theme of the President’s Fleet Review-2022 was ‘Indian Navy – 75 years in Service of the Nation’, commemorating the Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The president was on board the indigenously designed Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel INS Sumitra, designated as the Presidential Yacht, as the supreme commander of the armed forces sailed past 44 ships anchored in four columns in the Bay of Bengal and received the ceremonial salute from each of them.

The crew from each ship presented a salute with the traditional ‘Three Jais’, a symbolic act called “Man and Cheer Ship,” in a demonstration of the unconditional allegiance of Navy personnel to the country and the Supreme Commander.

The President was accompanied by his wife the First Lady Savita Kovind, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhat, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, Chief of Defence Staff General M M Naravane, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta and other officials onboard the Presidential Yacht.

On completion of the review, the President returned to base with ceremonial piping of the side, followed by a 21 Gun Salute.

The role of the Navy in the complex and dangerous world of geo-politics is more important than ever as the last decade saw the rise of China which has threatened the Indo-Pacific region. That is why India’s dependence on the maritime environment has expanded substantially as its economic, military and technological strength grew.

“There seems little doubt that the 21st century will be the ‘Century of the Seas’ for India and that the seas will remain a key enabler in its global resurgence,” the Navy observed.
