IMK chief Arjun Sampath arrested for protesting against Angalamman temple demolition in Coimbatore

Indu Makkal Katchi Chief Arjun Sampath was arrested in Coimbatore for protesting against the Coimbatore Corporation and the Tamil Nadu government at the temple demolition site, condemning the demolition of the Angalamman temple on the banks of Muthannankulam pond.

Arjun Sampath, who peacefully protested at the temple demolition site, was arrested by Coimbatore Police, according to Indu Makkal Katchi. They also urged Coimbatore Corporation officials to rebuild the temple where it was destroyed.

Earlier this week, IMK Chief Arjun Sampath has called for the worshipping of Angalamman deity and Thiruvalluvar on July 23rd, at the place where the temple was demolished in Coimbatore. He said,” Worship and Parikara Puja would be done at the site of the temple’s demolition on Friday, July 23rd, with the Angalamman deity and Thiruvalluvar portraits. Also, Porridge distribution and collective prayers will be held.”
