Alleged Multi-Crore Scam Involving DMK Minister Ponmudi’s Family And Surya Educational Trust

In a recent video release, Maridhas uncovered startling information about the alleged scam involving the allocation of mineral saplings in Poothurai village, Villupuram district.

Simultaneously, the video sheds light on the massive wealth amassed by the Ponmudi and his family, amounting to over ₹ 2,000 crore, from two quarries alone. This is believed to be only a fraction of the assets accumulated during Ponmudi’s tenure from 2007 to 2011, as per the allegations in the video.

The investigation reveals a network of assets and entities that were allegedly used to funnel the ill-gotten money. Surya College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy, Polytechnic, K.M. Speciality Hospital in KK Nagar, Chennai, and BloomLife Hospital in Velachery, Chennai are among the establishments allegedly linked to Ponmudi’s family. To facilitate the movement of the allegedly looted money, Surya Educational Trust was created, which reportedly acquired around 200 acres of land to build the educational institutions in Veerapandi area and the hospitals in Chennai over a period of time between 2006-2011.

It is alleged that Surya Educaitonal Trust was founded in 2006 registered at RA Puram, Chennai and the Chairman of this Trust is none other than Gautham Sigamani, elder son of Ponmudi.

Maridhas alleges that the Surya Educational Trust was established as part of an effort to funnel the allegedly misappropriated funds. The Trust has been involved in acquiring approximately 200 acres of land. Documents available reveal the details of these land purchases, indicating a pattern of acquiring properties from 2006 until the end of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule in 2011.

The video provides copies of documents as evidence of land purchases carried out by the trust from 2006 until the end of the DMK’s rule in 2011. Additionally, about 25 acres of land is donated to the Surya Educational Trust, by one B. Kannamma. Upon further scrunity, it is revealed that this Kannamma is none other than Ashok Sigamani’s mother-in-law. However, it is further revealed that the land allegedly “donated” to the Trust was not her own in the first place, and that it allegedly belonged to Ponmudi’s sons and they bought it two years earlier.

In a decisive conclusion to his video, Maridhas leaves no room for doubt about the alleged corruption and fraudulent activities of Ponmudi’s sons group. He asserts that the Ponmudi family is resorting to multiple deceitful tactics to conceal their ill-gotten wealth, including involvement of the daughter-in-law. Maridhas labels these actions as a conspiracy to cover up benami properties and alleges that Surya Educational Trust is at the heart of this scheme.

Maridhas presents evidence suggesting that a portion of the 200 acres land (allegedly agricultural land), under the guise of a loan of approximately ₹ 6 crore from Union Bank of India, was used to construct an educational institution. However, the actual worth of the land, according to their records, is stated to be a meagre ₹2 lakh. This stark difference in value raises suspicions of money laundering and attempts to legitimize the illicitly obtained wealth.

The video points to a local game orchestrated by Ponmudi’s sons, involving fraudulent loans and suspicious property transactions. Maridhas hints at the release of documents exposing major international crimes committed by the family. The vast wealth generated from mineral resources in just two villages leads to troubling speculation about the potential scale of looting across Tamil Nadu.

Maridhas’ investigation concludes with a call for accountability and justice. He emphasizes that Ponmudi, his sons, daughters-in-law, and the entire family should face the consequences of their alleged actions, serving as a significant lesson for society.
