“Atleast Speak The Truth”: AIADMK’s Kovai Sathyan Questions Dravidian Media Outlets Turning A Blind Eye To DMK’s Failures

AIADMK’s national spokesperson, Kovai Sathyan, has launched a scathing attack on the state’s media and the ruling DMK, accusing them of
evading critical issues while focusing on selective political narratives. Raising questions about Tamil Nadu’s mounting debt, the handling of student welfare, and the alleged contradictions in DMK’s stance on the National Education Policy (NEP), Sathyan called out the media for failing to hold the government accountable.

In a video that was posted on his official X handle, he said, “If Edappadiyar goes to Delhi, the 4 main media channels in the state speak about it for 2 days. Yesterday in the parliament, BJP leader and minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that Kanimozhi and TN’s education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi agreed to the NEP curriculum after meeting him in his office. But here only heroic dialogues are being spoken. I have a basic question for those in the media. I understand that you will not conduct debates that are detrimental to the DMK. Don’t do it, at least speak the truth. Can you not question the government that has ₹3.5 lakh crore debt and one that says it can manage the wellbeing of its state’s students only if the Centre gives ₹2150 crore funds? Can you not have a debate that asks the question of who is playing with student lives? Whether it is BJP or DMK – let the people know the truth. This is cheap politics, just for political gain such lies, and propaganda are being peddled.”

He further added, “Who is speaking the truth today? Is it the BJP or the DMK? Is it a game for both of them? They are just pointing fingers at each other and playing the students’ lives. To top it all, caste violence has reached students also. Will you at least discuss daily issues that pertain to the well-being of the public on your channels? That is the expectation of the people. I don’t know when it will become visible to you. I hope it will happen soon. I also believe that you, the 4th pillar of democracy will raise the right questions. Please ask and let the people know the truth.”
