The DMK party in Tamil Nadu and other Dravidian parties, that are in alliance with the DMK, have been strongly opposing the NEET examinations, asking for an exemption for the state. In such a situation, TN BJP Chief Annamalai has now revealed that it was a DMK MP who had initially proposed the NEET Bill.
The Central Government brought the NEET examinations, keeping the future of poor medical aspirants in mind. Many academicians and medical professionals have shown their support for the NEET exams. Other states in India have also given their full assent to these NEET exams.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, and other Dravidian parties, some of which are in alliance with DMK, have been spreading false propaganda about NEET and have been opposing it for quite sometime now. However, Annamalai has now revealed that, DMK MP Gandhi Selvan, who was the Central Minister for Health and Family Welfare during the Congress regime, had proposed the NEET bill in the Parliament on December 21, 2010.
The BJP leader also went ahead and shared copies of the proposed notification on Twitter. Check out the tweet here:
The genesis of NEET comes from ‘Regulation on Graduate Medical Examination – 1997’ which came into effect from 21/12/2010.
This was brought out by DMK’s then Min of Health & Family Welfare Shri. Gandhi Selvan elected from Namakkal,Tamil Nadu.
