Social media has been abuzz after a video went viral allegedly showing a kit “Oraniyil Tamil Nadu” containing items such as two ₹500 currency notes in a cover stating ‘Egmore Constituency’, a Titan gold watch featuring images of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin along with the DMK party symbol, and a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. These were labelled as bribes allegedly given by the DMK to voters ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls.

In another related post, kits were shown to include similar watches and smartphones, along with umbrellas, stationery sets, study pads, pens, and backpacks. The video has triggered allegations online, with some users claiming the kits are part of an attempt by the DMK to influence voters ahead of the upcoming elections, particularly in areas like Chennai’s Thiru V. Ka Nagar. Others speculated that the packages could be intended for new members of the DMK or DK IT wing.

Many netizens have tagged the Election Commission on social media, urging officials to investigate the matter. However, the authenticity and origin of the video have not been independently verified, and the claims remain unconfirmed as of now.
