5 Instances Of Rahul Gandhi's Pushing, Punching, Manhandling Behaviour Confirms WikiLeaks' Psychological Problems Allegations?

Congress scion Rahul Gandhi has been embroiled in at least four physical altercation controversies recently – right from pushing a pregnant journalist to the ground to elbowing his own party workers and manhandling a sitting Chief Minister and attacking a woman police officer.

These incidents occurred over the past few days. Some on the day of the earlier Congress protest while others during the I.N.D.I bloc protest march towards Supreme Court on 12 October 2026, in New Delhi over electoral roll revisions.

These incidents have put the focus back on Gandhi’s conduct, particularly in light of a leaked US diplomatic cable in which a political insider attributed “personality problems” of a psychological nature to him.

Documented Instances of Physical Aggression

#1 Pregnant Journalist Pushed to Ground (October 2026)

During the opposition march to the Supreme Court over alleged electoral irregularities, Rahul Gandhi allegedly assaulted Richa Parashar, a journalist who was three months pregnant and covering the protest .

According to BJP leaders who visited her in hospital, the incident occurred around 8:00-8:30 PM. The journalist’s sister approached BJP Delhi Vice President Rajesh Bhatia seeking help, stating that Rahul Gandhi had pushed her sister, causing injuries that required hospitalization.

The journalist herself recounted the incident: “Rahul Gandhi grabbed my hand and pulled me, causing me to fall on the stairs on my stomach. Immediately after, Rahul Gandhi also pulled and pushed the cameraman, who fell on top of me. After that, many people fell on top”.

#2 Elbowing a Party Worker (October 2026)

Video footage from the same march shows Rahul Gandhi elbowing a young man, said to be a Congress party worker, who was walking beside him. Rather than asking him to move aside, Gandhi appears to strike him with his elbow and continues walking without acknowledgment.

#3 Pulling Karnataka CM by the Collar (October 2026)

In another clip from the same protest march, Rahul Gandhi is seen grabbing Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar by the collar and pulling him backward as the crowd surged forward. Shivakumar subsequently disappeared from Gandhi’s immediate vicinity.

#4 Punching and Kicking Woman Police Officer

Earlier this month, during another round of protests, Rahul Gandhi is seen kicking and punching a woman police officer who was just doing her duty.

To add to this, his sister was also seen doing the same.

#5 Aggressive Confrontation with Union Minister Ravneet Bittu (February 2026)

In February 2026, Rahul Gandhi confronted Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu outside Parliament, calling him a “traitor.” Bittu, a former Congress MP who joined the BJP in 2024, described Gandhi’s behavior as violent .

Bittu stated: “He became so violent, do not know what he had, only God knows”. According to Bittu, Congress leaders K.C. Venugopal and Sukhjinder Randhawa had to physically restrain Gandhi by holding his arms.

WikiLeaks Exposed Doubts about Rahul Gandhi Within Congress

The controversy surrounding Gandhi’s conduct recalls a US diplomatic cable dated 3 March 2005, subsequently published by WikiLeaks.

The cable recorded a conversation between a US diplomatic official and Saeed Naqvi, an influential journalist and political insider who described himself as a personal friend of Rajiv Gandhi and a well-wisher of the Gandhi family.

Naqvi reportedly said that he had initially welcomed Rahul Gandhi’s emergence as Sonia Gandhi’s political heir but had subsequently lost confidence in him.

The cable recorded Naqvi’s claim that Congress insiders believed Gandhi suffered from what he described as “personality problems” of an emotional or psychological nature severe enough to prevent him from functioning as Prime Minister.

Naqvi also alleged that Gandhi had failed to make a meaningful impression as an MP from Amethi, worked at cross-purposes with the Congress leadership in Uttar Pradesh, and lacked the political ability required to lead the party to power.

He further claimed that the Gandhi family had considered Priyanka Gandhi more intelligent and politically savvy.

Is Rahul Gandhi Worthy Of Being A Leader?

Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of the Opposition, not just another politician. Yet repeated physical altercation controversies have raised more questions than one about his conduct and mental health.

A WikiLeaks-published diplomatic cable had already recorded claims by a political insider about Gandhi’s emotional and psychological problems. Now, his public conduct is once again under the spotlight.

India faces serious security threats and cannot afford to treat national leadership as a family inheritance. Parliament is not a playground, and the Leader of the Opposition cannot escape scrutiny. Rahul Gandhi must answer for his conduct and demonstrate the judgment and seriousness his office demands.
