In an undated video, he is heard justifying his call for a separate country. His love for DMK is not unknown, he doubles his call for separatism with praising the former DMK government and the former CM Stalin.
He said, “Those two people keep talking. That they are going to save Tamil Nadu. You know who those two are. I am watching all this. It was unnecessary for me to comment but now it is necessary. I should talk about that. Why are you cheating the public? How can you save the people? Can you step out of your car, walk and sit in a common man’s house? instead of forming a government to take care of them, they create a law in the name of NEET and kill them. They even named it NEET. Do you think they will stop with this one death? If we go away silently now, tomorrow there will be one death every month. This is the moment. They talk nonsense that they are going to change this and that. I will ask for a separate country (Tamil Nadu). We will ask for a separate country. What is wrong with that? Didn’t Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia break up? There is no other way. Let us fight and see. if it’s not possible, we will ask for a separate nation (Tamil Nadu). What’s wrong with that?”
His love for the DMK and its ministers in the previous regime was explicit during a programme where he said, “The chief minister takes care of you like a parent. The deputy chief minister is guiding it forward. Anbil makes sure all good schemes reach the people. I am personally indebted to all three of them.”
In the same event, DMK stooges and separatists Vijay Sethupathi, Vetrimaaran also spoke and praised the DMK government.
