The Joseph Vijay TVK government has appointed A. Loyola Mani as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation, according to a Government Order issued on 9 July 2026.
This is the next in the series of appointments Joseph Vijay has been making starting from the controversial appointment of astrologer Radhan Pandit which was reversed followed by appointments of businessman Vishnu Reddy as advisor, film producer Venkat Narayana as special envoy to central government, his Route Media chief Jagadish as Private Secretary to name a few.
The appointment was notified through G.O.(1D) No. 138 issued by the School Education (TRB) Department. The order states that Loyola Mani will serve as Chairman for a term of three years from the date of issue of the Government Order.
The government further stated that the terms and conditions governing Loyola Mani’s appointment would be issued separately.
The order was issued by order of the Governor and signed by Chandra Mohan B., Additional Chief Secretary to Government.
Photographs shared following the appointment show Loyola Mani receiving the appointment order in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat.

It is noteworthy that the predecessor of Mani in the DMK government was the sexist and anti-Hindu Dindigul Leoni. Leoni was the DMK’s propaganda wing secretary and a pattimandram (debate) anchor on Kalaignar TV. He is known for his sexist statements he made during elections where he compared the waist of Tamil women with barrels.
While Loyola Mani has not made sexist remarks, his comments centre around Joseph Vijay’s films and one wonders how he would be efficient as the head of the TN Textbook Corporation.
Here are a few samples.

Now the guy who opposed Vijay for his inability to pay taxes has become a favourite of the CM and bagged a government posting – at the expense of the taxpayer!
One of the most viral video clippings of Mani are from his interview with a YouTube channel before the elections. In this instance, he explains lyrics of Vijay’s film songs to emphasize how ‘thoughtful content’ was incorporated.
He says, ‘Englipis vendaam di, Hindi thinippu vendam di, Karagattam adikitu Tamizhil paaden di’ meaning “Do not want English, don’t impose Hindi, dance Karagattam and sing in Tamil” – this Mani says emphasises on anti-Hindi imposition.
In the same video, he further mentions another lyric, “Theeppantham eduththu theendaamai koluththu ithuthaan yen karuththu” meaning “Take up a torch and set untouchability ablaze, that is my view/opinion.” This he says is indicative of how Vijay wanted to eliminate untouchability.

For a person who finds meaning in meaningless lyrics from films of all places to praise the chief minister/party leader, it surely raises questions whether he would go on to integrate the biography of Joseph Vijay in the curriculum or give extra credits for analysis of his film songs.
