A complaint has been lodged with the Chennai Police against the daughter and son-in-law of DMK Rajya Sabha MP Trichy Siva, alleging that they failed to return ₹10 lakh and 26 sovereigns of gold jewellery that had been entrusted to them over the course of a long-standing friendship.
The complaint was filed by Dr. Veena Vilasini, a homeopathy practitioner from Ayanavaram, Chennai. According to the complaint, she and her husband, who are also homeopathy doctors, had known Trichy Siva’s daughter, Gayathri Siva, and her husband, advocate Muthukumar, for nearly ten years.

As reported in Nakkheeran, Dr. Veena Vilasini alleged that Muthukumar had borrowed ₹10 lakh from her, citing an urgent financial requirement. She further claimed that in 2023, Gayathri Siva approached her stating that she needed to pledge family jewellery to raise funds for personal needs and requested gold ornaments for the purpose.
According to the complaint, the doctor handed over a total of 50 sovereigns of gold jewellery. While 24 sovereigns were subsequently returned, the remaining 26 sovereigns have allegedly not been returned. She also alleged that the ₹10 lakh loan remains unpaid.
The complainant stated that despite repeatedly requesting the return of both the money and the remaining jewellery over an extended period, Gayathri Siva and Muthukumar allegedly refused to return them. She further alleged that the couple threatened her when she continued to press for repayment.
Seeking legal action, Dr. Veena Vilasini has requested the police to recover the outstanding ₹10 lakh and the remaining 26 sovereigns of gold jewellery and initiate appropriate proceedings against those named in the complaint.
Based on the complaint, the Ayanavaram Police have commenced an inquiry. Investigators are reportedly collecting documents relating to the alleged financial transactions, the handing over of the jewellery, and statements from both parties as part of the investigation.
Police have not reached any final conclusion regarding the allegations, and officials have stated that the veracity of the claims will be determined only after the investigation and due legal process are completed.
The complaint has attracted political attention amid a recent rise in allegations of financial fraud involving political figures and their family members. However, the filing of a complaint does not amount to proof of wrongdoing, and the allegations remain under investigation.
Meanwhile, advocate Muthukumar has denied the allegations made against him.
