‘Dr’. Sumanth Raman, who participates in television news debates tried to stoke fears over corona vaccination after Actor Vivekh suffering an heart attack made news.
Earlier in the day, Actor Vivekh reportedly fainted while he was talking with his family. He was later rushed to the SIMS hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai.
The actor was admitted in the ICU as his condition was serious. He has now been placed on ECMO machine, heart-lung by-pass machine that pumps and oxygenates a patient’s blood outside the body.
As news broke out, ‘get well soon’ messages have been pouring in for the actor. However, Dr. Sumanth Raman posted a tweet in which he tried to stoke fears linking the actor suffering a heart attack with him getting vaccinated for COVID on April 15.
In the tweet Sumanth Raman said “If I remember correctly @Actor_Vivek had his #covid vaccine yesterday. Too early to say if there was any link with his illness today. Wishing him a speedy recovery. #vivek”.
After his tweet received backlash, Sumanth put another tweet saying that ‘science is important’.
For all those saying I shouldn't put this out, science is important. We need to establish the cause and ensure there is no link.

Many lashed out at the ‘neutral’ political commentator for his timing of the tweet when the Central and State governments have been making efforts to vaccinate all people vulnerable to the virus.
You could have waited till they established the cause. No need to jump in and tweet something about vaccination.

Science is important. Agreed.
But is it science correlating or questioning the vaccination with his heart attack with too little info and when the country is nearing 2.5 lakhs/day new #COVID19 cases?#ActorVivek
