The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commenced a three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak (All India Coordination Meeting) in Palakkad, Kerala, on 31 August 2024. This event marks the first time the RSS is hosting its annual national coordination conclave in Kerala.
The meeting will see participation from 32 national office-bearers representing various organizations dedicated to social transformation aligned with RSS ideology. Among the attendees are 90 All India karyakartas responsible for overseeing Sangh activities, as well as 230 representatives, including RSS Sarsangchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryawah (General Secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale, and Deputy Upa Sarkaryawah Krishnagopal, Mukunda C R, Arun Kumar, Alok Kumar, Ramdat Chakradhar, and Atul Limaye. BJP chief JP Nadda is also present at the conclave.
At the outset of the Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak meeting, attendees were briefed on the recent Wayanad landslide and the assistance provided by RSS volunteers. In anticipation of its 100th anniversary in September 2025, the RSS plans to launch five new initiatives aimed at social reform and nation-building. These initiatives include ‘Samajik Samrasta’, ‘Kutumb Prabodhan’, ‘Paryavaran Sanrakshan’, ‘Swadeshi’, and ‘Nagrik Kartavya’. The meeting will also address the recent turmoil in Bangladesh, including the removal of Sheikh Hasina from office on 5 August 2024 and the subsequent attacks on minorities, particularly Hindus. Following the conclusion of the meeting on 2 September 2024, a press conference will be held to provide further details, as noted by Ambekar.
The Baithak will address a range of issues pertinent to the nation. Discussions will centre on affiliated organisations’ input, viewpoints, and on-the-ground experiences to develop a cohesive national strategy. Sunil Ambekar noted that while the RSS inspires many organizations, it often expands and strengthens over time. He added that with 73,000 Shakhas across India, measuring the RSS’s success can be challenging, as its primary focus remains on social transformation.
