Orchids Int’l School lodges complaint against 2nd grade student and her father for ‘defaming’ school

The Schools Orchids International in Bangalore, has been in the news for almost a week now, because of the controversial video that showed a young child explaining that her teacher forced all of her students to pray to ‘Allah’ to understand math, and also because he was a better God. Earlier this week, Orchids International let out a statement saying that the allegation was false, giving a clean chit to its teacher.

Following this statement, the 2nd standard student’s father Vikram Simha, let out another video, where the child clearly reiterates how she was asked to pray to Allah, with hand gestures that are generally followed by Muslims while praying. Although the school explained that the child has misunderstood an ‘eye palming exercise’, the child clearly differentiates between the two, in the video.

The father has also shared on Twitter, that when the school and its legal team spoke to his daughter and him, they had recorded parts of his daughter’s conversation for their convenience, even after him showing his disapproval of it.

Now, after all of this, Orchids International has lodged a complaint against the student and her father Vikram Simha, for allegedly ‘defaming’ the school. “A Class 2nd student and the daughter of Vikram Simha, released a video accusing the Orchid International School of pushing a religious agenda. The aforesaid video was discovered by the complainant on January 4th at 02:20 PM, after which the school officials questioned the student about it. The student has admitted to making the video public. In the light of events, the Orchid International School registers a complaint accusing the student of defaming the school. It has caused irreversible damage to educational institutions. Hence, we request you to carry out an investigation on the incident,” read the complaint filed by Orchids International.
