MP Su. Venkatesan fabricates lies misquoting Central Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

Su. Venkatesan, MP, Lok Sabha, had shared a tweet yesterday asserting that the demand for an airport in Madurai had been denied by the Central Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, on a few grounds. “Aviation Minister @JM_Scindia  says the demand for airport in Madurai and fourth for TN is not justified since North Indian states have only one international airport. The GST paid by TN last year is higher than those collectively paid by 21 states and UTs,” the tweet said. He had also added, “We are right in demanding not just 4, but even 14 for our state.”

Replying to this tweet, Minister Jyotiraditya has said that he was shocked by the gross misrepresentation of facts by the MP. He gave valid points saying that many states in India have more than 1 international airport, and therefore the statement made by the MP itself is baseless. He also said that International flights are currently operational in Madurai, and said that he doesn’t understand why the MP insists on International status for the airport.
