Vijay Prashad, the Marxist historian and director of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, an organisation reportedly funded by Communist Neville Roy Singham, has posted a message invoking “fury” and “anger” while linking Paris, New Delhi and Buenos Aires.
In a post on X, Prashad wrote: “Paris-New Delhi-Buenos Aires. Let fury have the hour, anger can be power.” He attributed the line to the British punk band The Clash’s 1979 song Clampdown and shared three images.

In the post, he seemingly is inciting riots and anarchy.
Who Is Vijay Prashad?
Prashad is an Indian Marxist historian, journalist, author and political commentator. He heads Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, a Left-wing think tank with international connections.
His name came under scrutiny following a New York Times investigation into the financial network of Neville Roy Singham, an American technology entrepreneur accused of funding organisations that promote pro-China political narratives.
According to the NYT report, Singham’s network provided financial support to Tricontinental, which Prashad leads.
Prashad has openly praised Singham. In a 21 December 2021, post on X, he described him as “A Marxist with a massive software company!” and recounted how Singham had sold his software company and decided to direct his wealth towards political education for a new generation of radicals.

Prashad is also the nephew of Brinda Karat, a senior CPI(M) leader.

His Political Ideology
Prashad is a vocal critic of capitalism, Western imperialism and American foreign policy. His writings and public speeches frequently advocate Marxist perspectives and support political movements opposed to Western power.
A video of Prashad speaking about coloniality previously circulated widely on social media, with supporters praising his speech. However, his remarks seemed to reflect a pro-China position.

His latest post, linking Paris, New Delhi and Buenos Aires through a quotation about fury and anger, has brought back focus on his leftist ideology and the burning need to manufacture and push anarchy.
