Dravidianist sympathizer Suresh Sambandam, who runs Kissflow, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) firm based in Chennai, is known for spreading fake news, is back in the news.
In a programme to be conducted by the Tamil Nadu School Education Department and Public Library at Anna Centenary Library Conference Hall on 27 July 2024, Sambandam will be making a speech on the topic, “100-billion-dollar target, 1 million (10 lakh) jobs”

Ironically, Sambandam’s Kissflow laid off about 15% of its workforce just a few weeks ago, in June 2024. This decision affected approximately 45-50 employees across various departments, including sales, marketing, and product development.
CEO Suresh Sambandam said the layoffs were part of a strategic shift resulting from annual performance reviews. Sambandam clarified that around 20-25 employees were dismissed due to a transition from land-motion procurement to expand-motion, aiming to enhance customer acquisition across Kissflow’s product suite. Additionally, routine performance reviews, conducted every two to three years, terminated about 20 more employees.
Before these layoffs, Kissflow had a workforce of over 400 people. The job cuts impacted staff in India, the US, and the UAE, with fewer than five employees being let go in the latter two regions.
Founded in 2012, Kissflow offers cloud-based no-code and low-code work management tools. Notably, two years ago, the company awarded brand new BMW 5 Series cars to five senior executives in recognition of their long-term commitment.

Sambandam is known to peddle half-truths frequently. In April 2024, as the political parties were campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, he shared a video of a DMK minister’s son-in-law’s video stating that a Kovai doctor was supporting DMK. He has regularly indulged in calling BJP supporters as Sanghis. He also shared fake data and fudged numbers to show Tamil Nadu in good light while pooh-poohing the BJP-ruled states such as Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
