Dravidianist sympathiser Suresh Sambandan, known for peddling fake news, was in the news recently. His company, Kissflow, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company headquartered in Chennai, has laid off approximately 15% of its employees, impacting around 45-50 staff members across various departments, including sales, marketing, and product development.
This decision follows a strategic shift and the outcome of annual performance reviews, according to CEO Suresh Sambandam.
Sambandam explained that about 20-25 employees were dismissed due to a transition from land-motion procurement to expand motion aimed at boosting customer acquisition across Kissflow’s product suite. Additionally, the firm’s routine performance reviews, conducted every two to three years, led to the termination of around 20 more employees.
Before these layoffs, Kissflow employed over 400 people. The reductions affected staff in India, the US, and the UAE, with fewer than five employees being let go in the latter two regions.
Founded in 2012, Kissflow provides cloud-based no-code and low-code work management tools. Notably, two years ago, the firm awarded brand new BMW 5 Series cars to five senior executives in recognition of their long-term commitment.
Sambandam noted that while the firm is not currently seeking investment, it would consider raising funds if market conditions improve.

Sambandam is known to peddle half-truths frequently. In April 2024, as the political parties were campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, he shared a video of a DMK minister’s son-in-law’s video stating that a Kovai doctor was supporting DMK. He has regularly indulged in calling BJP supporters as Sanghis. He also shared fake data and fudged numbers to show Tamil Nadu in good light while pooh-poohing the BJP-ruled states such as Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
