Hindu Munnani Stage Protests Against DMK Scion Udhayanidhi Stalin Over ‘Eradicate Sanatanam’ Remarks In Assembly

Members of Hindu Munnani staged a protest in the Power House area of Coimbatore condemning Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over his remarks regarding Sanatan Dharma during the confidence vote of the TVK government in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, while speaking during the majority confidence motion for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government, stated that “Sanatanam should be eradicated,” triggering opposition from several groups and sections of the public.

Hindu organisations and protesters stated that Udhayanidhi Stalin repeatedly targeted Hinduism despite speaking about secularism and accused him of making remarks specifically aimed at the Hindu faith.

In response, Hindu Munnani state president Kadeswara Subramaniam announced statewide protests condemning Udhayanidhi Stalin, stating that demonstrations would be organised in major cities across Tamil Nadu on Sunday.

Following that announcement, Hindu Munnani’s Coimbatore division organised a protest at the Power House junction, where demonstrators gathered carrying placards and raising slogans against the DMK leader.

Participants in the protest stated that Udhayanidhi Stalin had consistently spoken against Hindu beliefs and traditions whenever addressing public platforms.

The protestors also referred to an earlier controversy in which Udhayanidhi Stalin, while participating in a private event, had compared Sanatan Dharma to diseases like dengue and malaria and said it should be eradicated. That statement had triggered nationwide political controversy and multiple legal complaints from different groups across the country.

Protesters argued that despite the earlier cases still being under investigation, Udhayanidhi Stalin had once again repeated similar remarks inside the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, which they described as an institution expected to uphold secular principles.

According to reports, the latest remarks created strong reactions across multiple sections of society and led to fresh demonstrations by Hindu organisations.

Large numbers of Hindu Munnani cadres and supporters reportedly participated in the Coimbatore protest, continuing their agitation against Udhayanidhi Stalin and demanding action over his comments.
