‘Fulfil your promises instead of misguiding people’: BJP TN head lashes out at Fin Min PTR

Tamil Nadu BJP is all set to protest all over Tamil Nadu, against the state government’s refusal to reduce price of Petrol and Diesel in the state, today. TN BJP chief, Annamalai announced the same at the Thoothukudi Airport. Puthiya Thalaimurai, which reported the news, however reported that Annamalai said that the TN BJP is to protest the increase in price of Petrol and Diesel in the country.

The TN Finance Minister Dr. P Thiaga Rajan quoted the news reported by Puthiya Thalaimurai on twitter and tweeted in Tamil, “What? A protest against increased petrol and diesel prices? But, the reason behind the increase is wholly increase in tax, right? And BJP and AIADMK in alliance are the ones that increased the tax. So, a party’s state chief is protesting against his own party’s central leadership?”

Responding to the finance minister, Annamalai has tweeted that a wrong news card was put out by the News channel Puthiya Thalaimurai, and tagged the channel as well in his tweet. He also went to explain by saying, “Protest is against @arivalayam govt’s lies & illogical arguments in not reducing the price of petrol & diesel in TN! Your words mean nothing when your actions are deceitful & opposite!” He added a thread of tweets explaining how the central government has reduced prices and that it is the state government that has not kept up with its election promises.

He also urged the DMK government reduce prices by saying, “Reduce state VAT on petrol by atleast 2 rupees and Diesel by 4 rupees. Fulfil your promises instead of misguiding people of the state with a 3 page rhetoric that reads like a novel!” Read the thread of tweets here:
