DMK Mouthpiece Kalaignar News Uses AI-Generated Nirmala Sitharaman Visuals To Peddle False Propaganda Against GST, 3BHK Filmmakers Using Negative PR To Grab Eyeballs?

In a brazen attempt at peddling propaganda against the Central Government, DMK mouthpiece Kalaignar News has circulated a video showing AI-generated visuals of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, attempting to demonize the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and portray the Modi government as anti-middle class.

The fabricated video with the caption “GST by Ji (PM Modi) is destroying people’s dream of building houses – video goes viral on the internet” shamelessly uses deepfake technology to insert the Finance Minister into a fictional narrative — a dangerous mix of misinformation, unethical AI usage, and political vendetta wrapped in entertainment.

The doctored clip is a spin-off from the recently released Tamil film 3BHK, starring Sarathkumar (now with the BJP), Siddharth, Devayani, and Yogi Babu. The video paints a gloomy, exaggerated picture of a middle-class family’s dream of home ownership, with AI-Sitharaman shown as an antagonist obstructing the aspirations of the common man. The misuse of Sarathkumar’s image — an actor now in the BJP — reeks of deliberate mischief.

In the clip, Sarathkumar’s character is depicted as saying he has saved ₹7.5 lakhs to build a home. The AI-generated Nirmala Sitharaman responds with a bizarre monologue listing supposed GST rates for construction materials like paint, cement, steel rods, and pipes — culminating in a theatrical threat: “Middle-class family should only dream. We won’t let you build a house.” The video ends with a distorted poster of 3BHK, carrying the false tagline “GST Affected Family.”

This blatant disinformation campaign ignores critical facts: under the Modi government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), over 4 crore affordable houses have been sanctioned, transforming the lives of countless families across India — particularly women and marginalised communities. Instead of acknowledging this monumental achievement, the DMK ecosystem is resorting to cheap theatrics and AI fakery.

Ironically, it is the DMK government in Tamil Nadu that has presided over spiraling construction material costs, with unchecked sand mining mafias, rising cement prices, and zero regulation of market cartels. Even as the central government provides subsidy and infrastructure support, it is the state-level mismanagement that continues to burden aspiring homeowners.

The use of AI-generated deepfakes to spread falsehoods about national policy not only violates ethical media norms but also borders on criminal misinformation. When political discourse sinks to the level of fabricating dialogues for constitutional authorities, it reflects not just desperation — but a dangerous contempt for democracy.

Given the fact that DMK stooge failed actors like Siddharth is part of the cast, the larger question that looms is whether 3BHK filmmakers and its distributors are complicit in this spin to grab eyeballs. Or is this just an opportunistic hijack by DMK propaganda units trying to amplify false propaganda through cinema?
