A commercial complex is being built by a DMK functionary at the place believed to be the birth place of Vaishnavite saint Thirumazhisaiyalwar.
The birthplace of Thirumalisaiyalvar is located in the Madavilakam area of the region. Land owned by the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department in the area has been leased to some people in the area.
Construction of building for commercial purposes is prohibited in the lands belonging to HR&CE department.
Meanwhile, a DMK office bearer who has taken the birthplace of Thirumazhisaiyalwar on lease is constructing a commercial complex. This has caused great dissatisfaction among the devotees.
Devotees have demanded that the temple authorities inspect and take appropriate action.
