Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s visit to Puzhal Central Prison has raised questions over the reason behind the visit, with a report in Junior Vikatan linking it to advice allegedly given by astrologers close to the Chief Minister.
According to the report, astrologers had reportedly warned Vijay that the Sathayam star could create problems for his zodiac sign. They had also allegedly predicted heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu this year and claimed that it could pose difficulties for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government.
Junior Vikatan claims that the astrologers suggested a peculiar remedy that Vijay should sit inside a prison and eat prison food. The report suggests that this advice may have been behind his visit to Puzhal Prison.
During the visit, Vijay reportedly interacted with inmates.
The report also links Vijay’s subsequent visit to Puzhal police station to another piece of astrological advice. According to Junior Vikatan, astrologers had told him to meet an official named “Sethu”. Vijay is said to have then made an unexpected visit to the police station and met Inspector Sethu Vasanth Raja.
Junior Vikatan further carries another claim about the purpose of the prison visit. It says there is speculation that Vijay could be considering the arrest of Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in a case and may have visited the prison beforehand to familiarise himself with the conditions there.

This comes after Vijay started sporting the Arajaga tilak on his forehead, said to ward off evil eye and also visit Mookambika Temple in Kollur where he gifted a silver sword much similar to former TN Chief Minister MG Ramachandran. These events have raised questions over the circumstances surrounding the Chief Minister’s prison visit and whether astrology played a role in the decision.
