The official Facebook page of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee has come under fire after it shared a video containing a derogatory remark directed at Hindus in the context of the Ram Mandir movement. The video was later deleted following widespread backlash on social media.
The now-deleted reel reportedly featured visuals of the Ram Mandir celebrations accompanied by a voiceover that said:
“In the name of religion, you people have become fools, and you will continue to remain fools. Every person who has nothing worthwhile to do behaves this way.”

The original audio used the Hindi slang term “chutiye,” which is widely regarded as a vulgar insult meaning “fools” or “idiots,” though its literal connotation is more offensive.

The remarks triggered outrage online, with several social media users accusing the Congress party of insulting Hindus and mocking devotees who participated in or supported the Ram Mandir movement.
Hindus need to ponder how such content was uploaded through the official Facebook page of the party’s Tripura unit and demand accountability from the Congress leadership.
Following the backlash, the video was deleted from the Facebook page. However, screen recordings of the reel continued to circulate on social media.
