The Chennai police have filed cases against the director and producer of the controversial yet-to-aired web series Godman that was scheduled to release on June 12.
The trailer of the series had created much stir after it carried dialogues and scenes that attempted to show Hinduism and the Brahmin community in bad light.
Various Hindu organizations protested against the content shown, alleging that the web series is yet another production in the line of Hinduphobic content that has been hitting OTT platforms of late intended to hurt Hindus.
Earlier former IAS officer Chandralekha had tweeted that Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Subramanian Swamy had spoken to Mr. Subhash Chandra of Zee 5 who had assured that the series would be withdrawn and not aired at all.
