Eight-Foot Tall Gold-Plated Marble Throne For Ram Lalla In Ayodhya

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is soon to receive a magnificent eight-foot-tall gold-plated marble throne for the idol of Lord Ram, which is currently being meticulously crafted by skilled artisans in Rajasthan.

Anil Mishra, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has confirmed that this resplendent throne is expected to grace Ayodhya by December 15, as reported by the Economic Times.

The designated location for this splendid throne is the inner sanctum of the Ram Temple, with the throne itself measuring eight feet in height, three feet in length, and four feet in width.

Mishra also mentioned that devout followers of Lord Ram have made generous donations of gold and silver items, including coins and bricks, both prior to and following the formation of the Trust. However, to address security concerns, these contributions will be melted down into a solid block under the supervision of a reputable organization, ensuring their safekeeping.

In anticipation of the grand consecration ceremony, construction efforts for the Ram Temple have been accelerated, with an expanded workforce to meet the demands of the project. Mishra stressed the importance of completing the ground floor of the temple by December 15, regardless of any challenges.

He provided updates on the progress, noting that the first floor is 80% complete, the construction of the inner sanctum is finished, and work on the flooring of the Parikrama Marg has also been completed. The current focus is on installing marble on the floor of the Griha Mandap and other areas, including the stairs.

Mishra further elaborated on the ongoing construction work, stating that the roofing work on all three floors of the passenger convenience center has been finalized, and safety equipment is currently being installed.

The entrance gate of the outer wall (parkota) of the Ram Mandir is in its final stages of construction and is expected to be completed by the end of November. Furthermore, 17 out of the total 19 pillars on the first floor have been installed, and it is anticipated that the first floor will also have a roof by December 15.

DMK MLA Peddles Fake Propaganda And Abuses PM Modi As Disgruntled Poor Women Question Him For Not Granting Them ₹1000

Kanchipuram MLA Ezhilarasan who is also the member of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) visited Kizhapathirpur village in his constituency to inaugurate a Fair Price Shop building there. Upon learning of his presence, he was soon surrounded by several women from the village and women who were part of the MNREGA 100-day job scheme made one specific complaint – that they did not receive the promised ₹1000 under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam.

The Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam was one of the poll promises of the DMK where women were eligible for ₹1000 each month. However, the eligibility came with several conditions. The scheme was launched in September 2023, two years after the DMK came to power in the state.

The state claimed that more than 1 crore women who were eligible for the scheme were identified and narrowed down from the applications received. However, many of those who received seemed the money to be members of the DMK themselves. There were several complaints that women did not receive the promised ₹1000. The ones who received the amount were found to be living in big homes complete with LED TVs and refrigerators.

Owing to this, the women questioned the DMK MLA about the ₹1000 and the failure of the government to give it to them. They also shouted at the MLA after a point. The women said they were asking because it was promised to them. The MLA then said, “No it was not promised to everyone”. Angered by the questions raised, Ezhilarasan asked the women around him about the “₹15 lakhs promised by the BJP”. He said, “Ten years ago, he said he will deposit ₹15 lakhs for each household, why didn’t you question him, did you receive the ₹15 lakhs?”

The DMK MLA can be heard hurling expletives on PM Modi.

A woman in the crowed retorted, “If Modi comes here, we will ask him. Since you are here, we are asking about your promise.”

Another old woman in the crowd chipped in complaining about the ₹1000 she did not receive. This time Ezhilarasan started questioning the VAO why the women did not get their money. Someone from the crowd claimed that they received a message that they did not get it because they did not file their taxes. Ezhilarasan asked, “Do these people look like they file IT? Why cannot you research this properly? Strict action will be taken against you. Do you think the government has to answer for your mistakes?,” he thundered.

Deflecting the blame to someone else is something the DMK is known to be good at. When asked about the ₹1000, the MLA shifted the goalpost by talking about the imaginary ₹15 lakhs and then conveniently shifted the blame to the VAO.

This is not the first time that the DMK MLA has resorted to spewing abuses in public.

Earlier in 2021, a video surfaced on social media in which DMK MLA C.V.M.P Ezhilarasan can be heard abusing officials with unparliamentary language.

Is DMK Govt Flouting Norms To Appoint A DMK Supporter & YouTuber As Head Of “Fact-Checking Unit”?

When then Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan presented the state’s budget for the year 2022-23, he mentioned that the state government has decided to form a special Social Media Monitoring Centre under the police department. He claimed that the Social Media Monitoring is being set up to ‘to battle fake news and misinformation on social media platforms’.

However, The Commune back then had raised concerns stating that the DMK government with the state police machinery under its control might use it to muzzle dissenting voices.

Ever since the DMK came to power, there has been a series of crackdowns on political activists, journalists and social media activists who are opposed to the DMK and Dravidian ideology.

And the latest move of the DMK government is a step further in this direction that will sound a death knell to freedom of speech and expression in Tamil Nadu.

“Fact-Checking Unit” Headed By DMK Supporting YouTuber For DMK

It has been announced that the Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to create a Fact Checking Unit under the administrative control of Special Programme Implementation which is the portfolio of DMK scion and Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. This FCU is going to be headed by Iyan Karthikeyan, a Dravidian Stockist YouTuber known for peddling DMK propaganda.

YouTurn is a self-proclaimed “fact-checking” website that also has a YouTube channel where Iyan Karthikeyan – now ex-Editor-in-Chief and Co-founder along with his team rant for the most part under the pretext of “fact-checking”. They frequently target DMK critics like Maridhas, journalists Rangaraj Pandey and Sandhya Ravishankar apart from peddling canards about the BJP and its leaders.

Their website claims that YouTurn is a legally registered organization exclusively focused on fact-checking and is certified by none other than IFCN Poynter which has links with George Soros.

Iyan Karthikeyan took to his social media on 30 October 2023 announcing his resignation from the organization.

On 31 October 2023, The News Minute’s Shabbir Ahmed shared a post on social media platform X that said, “Sources say former Youturn editor Iyan Karthikeyan is likely to head the Tamil Nadu government fact checking and hate speech monitoring unit.”

His appointment was later confirmed by Savukku Media headed by political commentator Savukku Shankar in a series of tweets.

As news of his appointment spread on social media, on 1 November 2023, Iyan Karthikeyan shared a post announcing his appointment on his X handle.

He wrote, “Addressing hate speech does not mean limiting or prohibiting freedom of speech. It means keeping hate speech from escalating into something more dangerous” – UN secretary General, António Guterres. I am appointed as Mission Director for the Fact check unit under the administration of SPI, Tamilnadu. Thank you Hon. CM MK Stalin and Hon. Minister of SPI Udhay Stalin for the opportunity. Fighting against Hatred is the job of everyone!”

However, an official announcement is pending until the time of publishing this article. The news making the rounds created quite a buzz given the “credibility” of Iyan Karthikeyan and the entity, YouTurn itself.

Questionable Selection Process

The Tamil Development and Information Department had apparently issued an ordinance to oversee the formation and operation of the Fact-Checking Unit. As per a report published by Savukku Media, the unit will consist of 73 temporary positions, apart from the posts of Chief Director, Project Director, and Associate Director (Govt Statements). The selection process for these positions has raised questions about transparency and equal opportunities for all candidates. The secrecy surrounding the decree has led to doubts about the true purpose of the scheme. Questions that arise regarding the selection process include:

  • In which newspaper was the advertisement calling for applications for these posts placed?
  • How many applications were received?
  • When did the interview happen?
  • Where did it happen?

Qualifications and experience-related details for the above posts have surfaced on social media platform X. The basic qualifications are pretty confusing – the ideal candidate must have either an Engineering degree or a Master’s degree in Journalism. Critics have questioned why a fact-checker must have an engineering degree.

It has come to light that Iyan Karthikeyan is an engineering graduate. The odds of him having similar qualifications as that of those mentioned in the GO are pretty strange.

Political commentator Savukku Shankar alleges that these qualifications have been come up with to ensure Iyan fits the criteria and gets picked for the role.

He wrote a post on X that said, “DMK Supporter and YouTuber Ayan Karthikeyan is an Engineering grad. He holds a masters in Journalism. Precisely to accommodate him, TN Govt has fixed this strange qualification for Mission Director post in the upcoming Fact Check Unit which carries a pay package of 3 lakhs per month. As per the norm, even this is done without the knowledge of CM”

Why Is It A Concern?

The establishment of the FCU and the selection process seems to have completely happened in the dark without public knowledge raising allegations of favoritism.

The other obvious concern is using public money to hunt down on critics of the DMK and its government.

Annexure-III of the document regarding the functions of the Fact-Checking Unit states that “The FCU would take up complaints relating to govt, its ministries, departments, public sector entities, etc for evaluation/fact-checking. The FCU takes Suo Moto cognizance on fact-checking as well as received complaints from various sources.  The received information is split into actionable pool and non-actionable pool. From the actionable pool, the Central Task Force would consult with the Advisory Team from the Government’s Legal & Police Department and forward it to the concerned authorities to initiate legal action.”

Savukku Shankar denounced this move and posted on X stating, “The powers given to the Fact Checking Unit and its Mission Director Designate Ayan Karthikeyan are draconian. Suo Motu powers are given to the Unit to flag and shut down channels, tweets and other social media posts critical DMK govt. Stalin is creating a monster which kill dissent in social media.”

The salary details of the posts have also been announced and the figures are mind-boggling. At a time when nurses and teachers are fighting for equal pay and the state is in severe debt, this announcement makes one question the intent of the government.

History Of YouTurn & Iyan Karthikeyan

The channel was started about 4 years ago and the primary goal of the website/channel was to target Hindus (specifically Brahmins), mock them, and rant. The most common punching bag turns out to be Chanakya’s Rangaraj Pandey and YouTuber Maridhas.  Iyan Karthikeyan and his team made it a point to “counter” Pandey and Maridhas in pretty much all of their videos mainly because Pandey continued to keep his surname and comes from the “upper class” while Maridhas is known for putting out facts and criticising the ruling DMK government.  At a glance, one can realise that the YouTube videos are not essentially fact-checks but are rants instead. They regularly abuse Brahmins and flog the dead horse that is Manusmriti.

Here Are Some Instances Where YouTurn’s “Fact-Checking” Were Debunked

Spreading half-truths about Nanganallur temple which came under the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department.

In April 2023, a tragic incident occurred at the Dharmalingeshwarar Temple in Nanganallur, Chennai, during the Theerthavari festival in the Tamil month of Panguni. Five young individuals, aged between 18 and 22, tragically drowned while participating in temple rituals. In an effort to deflect blame and evade responsibility for the Nanganallur temple mishap in which five people drowned, certain DMK leaders and alleged fact-checkers (read Iyan Karthikeyan), disseminated false information. They claimed that the temple was not under the purview of HR&CE (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department). However, netizens swiftly provided evidence that the Nanganallur temple, the site of the tragic incident, indeed fell within the jurisdiction of HR&CE and was specifically identified on the HR&CE website with a reference ID. Recognising the inaccuracies in his initial tweet, Karthikeyan later posted a tweet asserting that the temple was privately owned. He argued that the HR&CE department’s attempts to assume control were prompted by issues with temple management.

Fake allegations on PM Vishwakarma Yojana

When the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana was announced, the channel posted a video that claimed that the scheme was promoting ancestral/clan-based or family occupation. All their claims were debunked by The Commune here

Incorrect Understanding Of Financials

On 28 October 2023, Iyan Karthikeyan posted on X saying he would debunk TN Bharatiya Janata Party President K Annamalai’s claim that a child born in TN had a debt of ₹3.5 lakh on its head compared to an “income” of ₹17000 for a child born in Gujarat.

On his website, he posted screenshots of newspaper articles claiming “the debt of Gujarat state has increased to ₹3.4 lakh crores and every citizen has a debt of ₹48,500.” in a bid to counter BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai’s statement on Tamil Nadu having a huge public debt compared to Gujarat.

This was instantly debunked by political observer Krishna Kumar Murugan who said, “Gujarat state has presented a revenue surplus budget of ₹9038 crore. Tamil Nadu has presented a revenue deficit budget of ₹37,540 crore with a debt of ₹ 7.5 lakh crore.”

Sharing the example of a failed “fact-check”, Murugan asked, “Is it necessary to have a Fact Check Unit with 80 posts on public tax money while part-time teachers and nurses are fighting for permanent employment for TET pass candidates?”

It must be reminded that a few years ago, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin felicitated several YouTubers, and among them were those who made rape jokes, created vulgar content, and abused Brahmins. Among the ones who met the CM was Iyan Karthikeyan.

The establishment of an FCU and appointing a DMK supporting YouTuber is nothing but an attempt at social media policing targeting critics of the DMK.

DMK Councillor In Ooty Levels Corruption Allegations Against Own Partymen At Municipality Meeting

Feature Image Courtesy: Vikatan

At the heart of Ooty town lies the century-old bustling market built during the British era, which houses over a thousand shops. These shops, owned by the Ooty Municipality, are rented out to traders.

Funds have been allocated for a two-phase project, which involves demolishing the aged shops and replacing them with modern establishments for traders. The work has already commenced, creating a sharp divide between those in favor and those strongly opposing it.

During a monthly meeting held at the Ooty Municipal Assembly Hall, J. Ravikumar, the Vice Chairman of Uthagamandala Municipality belonging to the DMK, stated, “The process of tearing down the old municipal shops and constructing new ones for traders is underway. False information about this development work is being spread among the public by a few people. They are instigating people from behind the scenes.” and further made contentious remarks angrily.

Mustafa, a councilor from the DMK party, expressed his displeasure, saying, “Under the guise of development, they are effectively displacing 400 families and causing disruption in the community. They are more concerned about personal gains than the betterment of people.

Mustafa also alleged irregularities and corruption in the construction of the new shops.

“Development scheme it seems! Is killing 400 people a development scheme?” Mustafa can be heard angrily shouting.

Responding to this the DMK Vice Chairman Ravikumar says “A development scheme brought by the DMK is being opposed by a DMK member himself” to which an angry Mustafa replies “The DMK is taking bribe of ₹36 crores!”

The tension escalated to a heated exchange between the two councilors during the meeting, prompting their fellow councilors to intervene and mediate.

Discussing the roots of this conflict, some council members were quoted saying in a Vikatan report that both Ravi Kumar and Mustafa have been long-time friends, known for making joint decisions regarding party and municipal matters but Ravi Kumar is inclined towards the construction of new shops, and Mustafa, an active member of the Market Traders Association, vehemently opposes the demolition of the existing shops.”

Kerala Police File Case Against Union Min Rajeev Chandrashekhar Over Kochi Blast Remarks, KPCC Too Had Filed Complaints

One day after a heated verbal dispute with the Kerala Chief Minister, the Kerala Police on Tuesday (31 October 2023) filed a case against Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology. He has been accused of posting “inflammatory remarks” on social media following the IED explosions at a convention center in Kochi’s Kalamassery on Sunday, which tragically resulted in three fatalities, including a 12-year-old girl.

Following a complaint made by the Kochi city police cyber cell, a non-bailable case was filed against Chandrasekhar. The charges against him include violations of IPC sections 153 (provocation for rioting) and 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony), along with a violation of the Kerala Police Act section 120 (o), which pertains to causing nuisance and disrupting public order.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar on Tuesday (31 October 2023) strongly criticized the Congress and CPI(M). Taking to X, he mocked Rahul Gandhi from the Congress and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan for jointly filing a case against him. He claimed that this legal action was an attempt to intimidate him because he had exposed their support for Hamas.

The Minister implied that both parties had joined forces for appeasement, despite holding opposing positions on many state-level issues. He also criticized both leaders, labeling them as the foremost appeasers in Indian politics. He emphasized their support for “dangerous, extremist, and violent” organizations like SDPI, PFI, and Hamas, which posed a threat to Indian security.

Rajeev Chandrashekhar from his X handle said, “So the two INDI alliance partners Rahul Gandhi and Pinarayi Vijayan have jointly filed a “case” against me. Two of the biggest appeasers in Indian politics who shamelessly appease poisonous radical violent organisations like SDPI, PFI, and Hamas, whose politics have caused radicalisation over decades from J&K to Punjab to Kerala and caused many innocent lives and security forces lives to be lost –  trying to threaten me with a case for exposing their appeasement of Hamas.

In his post on X, the Minister also included a media report that a case has been filed against him, a complaint copy filed by the Congress’ Kerala unit, and an FIR copy.

In the late hours of 30 October 2023, Congress’ state unit in Kerala lodged a complaint with the State Police Chief against Rajeev Chandrasekhar, son of Congress leader and former defense minister AK Antony, Anil K Antony who is a BJP National Secretary, and a few others for allegedly making “hate comments” aimed at flaring up communal enmity in the state. The complaint was given by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee’s (KPCC) Digital Media Cell Convener Sarin P.

The filing of cases on senior BJP leaders comes after the Ernakulam blast on 29th October. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar criticized Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for not acting tough on calls for Jihad by Hamas terrorists after videos surfaced of Hamas founding member Khaled Mashal addressing a meeting in Malappuram. He also slammed the Communist CM for participating in a pro-Palestine rally calling it appeasement politics.

Following the incident, he posted on X, “Dirty shameless appeasement politics by a discredited CM (and HM) Pinarayi Vijayan besieged by corruption charges. Sitting in Delhi and protesting against Israel, when in Kerala open calls by Terrorist Hamas for Jihad is causing attacks and bomb blasts on innocent Christians.”

DMK Councillor And Gang Barges Into Ex-Serviceman’s House In Cuddalore, CCTV Cameras Vandalized; BJP’s SG Suryah Calls For Immediate Action

In a troubling episode in Cuddalore, a mob, allegedly instigated by a DMK councillor, targeted the residence of an ex-serviceman. The reason behind the attack was the presence of CCTV cameras, which the ex-serviceman had installed to secure his house and also to monitor the streets.

The former soldier residing in Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Manjakuppam, Kadalur, had taken measures to secure his home with 12 CCTV cameras. He had highlighted individuals engaging in suspicious and criminal activities by taking a screenshot of the CCTV footage and naming them in banners.

In one of the banners, he had targeted DMK Councillor of the 12 ward, T. Prasanna Kumar saying “T. Prasanna Kumar, the son of Thandavarayan, a person who committed big violence and caste clashes, and his henchmen. Even if they tear this banner, the court won’t leave without arresting.”

However, a few neighbours alleged that Arul was using their images and putting up banners outside his house calling them criminals. Apparently, they had complained to the police for the removal of the cameras.

According to a report by Polimer News, it is alleged that instead one of the cameras was taken away by municipal authorities at the behest of the DMK Concillor.

The situation escalated when, on the night of the incident, accompanying DMK councillor Prasanna Kumar, a group of Arul’s neighbours entered his house, demanding to know why he had called them criminals.

The confrontation resulted in a heated argument, and Arul handed over a CSR copy of a complaint filed regarding one of the persons in the mob.

The dispute took a violent turn when a camera was broken at the gate. Following this, one of them broke the CCTV cameras fixed on the walls of the exterior.

A police official who arrived on the spot confronted the people and asked them how they could barge into Arul’s home. The police then asked all the onlookers and neighbours to disperse from the area. The neighbours alleged that the CCTV cameras had been positioned to spy on other houses in the street. Upon investigation, it was found that the CCTV cameras were not focused on any particular house but only the street. The police investigated the CCTV footage, identified those involved in the attack, and asked for a complaint to be filed by the ex-serviceman. The Pudhunagar Police of Cuddalore has filed a case against the DMK Councillor and have initiated an inquiry.

SG Suryah Calls For Immediate Action

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party Secretary of State, Dr. SG Suryah met with the press along with the party’s Cuddalore district head, Velu Venkatesan, Cuddalore East district General Secretary, Agni Krishnamoorthy, Ex-Army Wing BJP State Vice President and in-charge, Balasubramaniam, and Secretary of the same wing, Ramachandran, Vice President of the same wing, Commando Anand, General Secretaries of the Cuddalore City, Mani Indrajith and Mr. Senthil Kumar along with Senthamarai Kannan, Mr. Aranganathan, Mr. Praveen participated in the press meet.

He said that in the 12th ward, in Manjakuppam in Cuddalore, where former soldier Arul who spent 16 years of his life in the Army has been doing public service in his area and working towards solving the social issues in his area.

SG Suryah alleged that the Councillor of the 12th Ward, Prasanna Kumar, a member of the DMK has been harassing Arul for quite some time. Suryah alleged that since Prasanna Kumar was the councillor he did not bear seeing someone else doing good work in that ward.

On 23 October 2023, on Ayudha Puja, he and several others barged into Arul’s home and broke the CCTV cameras in and around his home. When this was happening, Vel Murugan, a BJP member happened to pass by that way and witnessing the happenings informed the police about it. A police officer came to that locality immediately and upon his pacification, only the DMK members left the place.

The footage recorded in the CCTV shows the men barging into the home and causing damage to the CCTVs and this has been shared with the media and the police.

The members of the Ex-Army wing visited Arul’s home and gathered the details and an FIR has been filed.

Suryah questioned why no arrest had been made yet even though the FIR was filed. “A sitting councillor is involved in anarchy but no arrest made yet. They have attacked and threatened a former soldier of the army“, he said.

Suryah also added that if BJP members post something on Facebook or share a meme on Twitter, several police officers are sent behind them to have them arrested and torture them, without even giving the 41A notice.

The BJP leader also accused the police of acting according to the whims and fancies of the ruling DMK government and that it was under the control of the DMK. Even after filing an FIR, no arrest has been made in these past 8 days after committing such a big crime. He said he wondered if the police were working for the DMK or the public.

Suryah also said that the BJP condemned the failure to arrest after 8 days and asked the police to immediately arrest the DMK councillor, Prasanna Kumar.

If they don’t do so, the next steps would be discussed with the state leadership and informed to the people. It could be a protest or a meeting with the DGP.“, he said.

He also added that he firmly believed DMK would lose power soon and all wrongdoers would be punished.

DMK Min Moorthy To Inaugurate Isha’s Vegetable Fest On November 5

The Indian traditional vegetable festival, organized by Isha’s Save Soil movement, is going to be held in Madurai on November 5. Tamil Nadu Minister for Commercial Tax and Registration P. Moorthy, will inaugurate the festival which is expected to witness the participation of over 1,000 farmers from across Tamil Nadu.

A press conference in this regard was held at the Madurai press hall today (October 31). Tamil Nadu field coordinator of the Save Soil Movement, Shri. Muthu Kumar informed the media that the event scheduled at E.M.G Yadava Women’s College, pioneering farmers and agronomists will provide advice on various aspects of vegetable production, such as organic farming, marketing, and value addition.

“The food we eat is the root cause of many diseases that affect us. Due to excessive use of synthetic fertilizers, soil’s fertility has deteriorated along with depletion of nutrients in the crops. Similarly, with deteriorated soil fertility, farmers’ yield has also reduced, and so has their income. Their produce is not getting the right price. The festival is expected to bring solutions to such problems faced by the farmers. During this time, we will also explain the process of multi-crop farming,” he said.

“As a solution to all the above-mentioned problems, we are promoting organic farming through the Save Soil Movement. We have taught organic farming to around 18,000 farmers by conducting various organic farming training courses every month across Tamil Nadu. This grand agricultural event called the Indian Traditional Vegetable Festival is a follow up event of the Movement,” he added.

Key highlights of the festival will include entomologist Shri. ‘Poochee’ Selvam’s talk on the benefits of certain useful insects in the cultivation of vegetables. Furthermore, Shri. Pon Mutthu, the farmer from Palladam, will also share his knowledge on how successfully he has established and is running his natural market that caters to more than 1,000 consumers. Shri. Arun Prakash will inform about the medicinal value of traditional vegetables. Shri. Ramar will share his insights about his experience of cultivating and exporting chili peppers to the USA and Germany. Apart from this, a farmer who earns 2 lakhs from moringa leaves, Smt. Ponnarasi, and a few others are going to talk about various aspects like home gardens, panthal vegetables, and spinach cultivation.

Besides, the festival will also showcase an exhibition of native vegetable seeds and simple agricultural tools found by the farmers themselves. We are going to provide free seeds of traditional country vegetables to the farmers participating in this festival. Vegetables and value-added food products will also be sold to benefit not only the farmers but also the public. A traditional music concert by Shri ‘Sound’ Mani will also be conducted. Farmers who want to participate in this festival can contact 8300093777 and make reservations.

“Shameful, Sickening”: Israel Ambassador To India Slams The Hindu For Platforming Hamas Terrorist

Israeli Ambassador to India, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan, Naor Gilon, strongly criticised The Hindu on 31 October 2023 for giving a platform to Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzouk. In a letter addressed to the editor-in-chief of the media organisation, Suresh Nambath, Ambassador Gilon expressed his deep disapproval of the publication’s choice of interviewee, which he found deeply unsettling.

Gilon said that he found the publication’s “choice of interviewee sickening.” The Frontline article was titled, “The root of the problem is the occupation: Moussa Abu Marzouk” who is the head of international relations for Hamas based out of Qatar.  The article painted Hamas as the victim and what had transpired on 7 October 2023 was due to the actions of the state of Israel.

Naor Gilon expressed his deep disappointment with The Hindu’s decision to interview Mousa Abu Marzouk, a figure he referred to as a known terrorist associated with Hamas-ISIS. The interview was published in Frontline, The Hindu’s fortnightly English magazine, on 27 October 2023.

It’s important to note that this publication was in alignment with several other Indian leftist media outlets and political parties, such as the Congress party, which have consistently sought to garner sympathy for Hamas while portraying Israel negatively.

This trend emerged following a significant attack by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas on Israel, resulting in the deaths of many innocent Israeli civilians, including infants and the elderly, during the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict.

While recognising the press’s right to offer a platform for a variety of perspectives, the Israeli Ambassador to India raised a pertinent question for the media outlet. He wondered whether they would have been willing to grant a platform to individuals like Ajmal Kasab or Osama Bin Laden to elucidate their motivations behind the 26/11 Mumbai attack and the 9/11 terrorist strikes on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Naor Gilon expressed his deep concern over The Hindu’s decision to provide space for Mousa Abu Marzouk, whom he characterized as not only a contentious figure but a recognized terrorist with significant Israeli casualties attributed to him.

Abu Marzuk, a member of the terror organization Hamas-ISIS which has been listed as a terror organization by many countries of the world including the US, all EU members, UK and others -is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Israeli civilians since 1988. He has spent time in US prison for his actions. The decision to grant him a platform, especially in the wake of the tragic 7th of October Nazi-attacks, where 1400 Israelis, including babies, women and Holocaust survivors were tortured to death in the worst possible ways – is deeply unsettling,” the letter read.

The Israeli Ambassador to India, who also talked about the possible involvement of the Islamic State (ISIS) in the Hamas attack on Israel, criticised The Hindu’s Editor-in-Chief for failing to demonstrate responsible journalism. “It is incumbent upon responsible journalism to exercise due diligence in such cases, ensuring that the voices amplified do not contribute to the promotion of violence and terror,” Naor Gilon said, further slamming the publication for not considering the need for fact-checking or asking follow up questions to Abu Marzuk, which, in turn, assisted the Hamas official to decimate lies and fake news with utmost ease.

In a 1806 word article, less than 100 words could be considered something others than blatant lies and defamation, by any person who knows an iota about the reality between Israel and Hamas. This is an old and known Terrorist tactic utilized by Hamas-ISIS regularly: Lie and Murder, if possible – Lie about the Murder,” the letter read.

He further wrote, “Not long ago it was the duty of journalists to hold their subjects accountable for their statements and their actions. To fact check. To follow up false statements with accuracy. particularly when they pertain to matters of so grave consequence. Failing to do so not only undermines the credibility of the publication it also disrespects the countless dead victims whose blood screams from the ground. Worst of all, publishing a manifesto of a terrorist, poses a real risk of radicalizing and empowering susceptible readers to take more violent actions in the name of these “pseudo facts” claimed by terrorists. We’ve had more than our share of Jews murdered for these reasons so we should be taken seriously when we say: “Some words do kill”.

The interview was given to Frontline magazine, part of The Hindu Newspaper Group, which has in recent years, seemingly exhibited a left-leaning stance by often featuring unsubstantiated critiques of the Modi government.

Chaos And Violence Erupt During Stone Quarry Auction At Perambalur; DMK Goons Attack Govt Officials, Police, Journos

A tumultuous and lawless incident unfolded during a stone quarry auction at the Assistant Director of Mines office within the Perambalur Collectorate in Tamil Nadu, India. In this shocking turn of events, a group of about 500 members associated with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, allegedly under the influence of key figures such as Transport Minister SS Sivasankar’s personal assistant, Mahendran, and the personal assistant of Perambalur MLA Prabakaran, Sivasankar, wreaked havoc and chaos.

Origins Of The Incident

Central to this tumultuous episode was the participation of P. Murugesan, the President of the Traders Wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Perambalur District, in the stone quarry auction. This auction, organised by the Perambalur District Geology and Mines Department, specified fixed tender amounts for each quarry. The gravity of the incident and the alleged intimidation tactics deployed by DMK members cast a shadow over the integrity and fairness of the auction process.

Crucial Developments

DMK members, allegedly bent on disrupting the proceedings and potentially influencing the auction’s outcome, created an atmosphere of disorder and defiance, disregarding established rules and decorum. Despite impassioned pleas from Perambalur Collector Karpagam IAS to restore order, DMK members allegedly continued to act with impunity, blatantly disregarding the norms and regulations governing such auctions.

Perambalur’s Superintendent of Police (SP), Shyamala Devi, arrived at the scene approximately two hours after the initial outbreak of violence, despite reports of police officers and the Perambalur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Palanisamy, being physically assaulted by DMK members in their efforts to control the situation.

Of great concern was the level of physical violence directed at officers present in the Assistant Director of Mines office. Among those impacted by the aggression were AD Mines In Charge P. Jayapal, Assistant Geologist G. Elangovan, and Mines Revenue Inspector P. Kumari Ananthan. These officials endured severe blows and attacks as they endeavored to fulfill their official duties.

Furthermore, it was reported that MLA Prabakaran’s personal assistant, Sivasankar, tore up the applications and allegedly physically assaulted the officers. The BJP Traders Wing District President, P. Murugesan, not only suffered from physical harm but also had his clothing torn and was subjected to brutal beatings during these chaotic events.

At the time of reporting, no formal complaints have been registered in connection with this disturbing incident. The scale of violence and disruption of official proceedings prompted Perambalur Collector Karpagam IAS to make the difficult decision to cancel the stone quarry tender, citing “administrative reasons.”

According to BJP Tamil Nadu Industrial Cell Vice President Selva Kumar, Transport Minister Sivasankar’s had sent around 300 henchmen in order to prevent a scheduled caste from getting a stone quarry tender in the presence.

This episode highlights a disconcerting aspect of law and order in Tamil Nadu, raising questions about the state of law and order in the state.

BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai called for the arrest of the DMK henchmen who were involved in the violent attack.

He said “The DMK mob stopped and assaulted Perambalur Kavulpalayam Panchayat Council President and Industrial Division District Vice President Kalaichelvan and Industrial Division District President Murugesan who had come to bid for the quarries in Perambalur district. Also, the Deputy Director of Mineral Resources Jayapal and Assistant Geologist Ilangovan, Revenue Inspector Kumari Anandan and DSP Mr. Palanichamy and other police officers were also attacked. Even after the district collector came directly and issued a warning, the DMK rowdy gang did not disperse from there and continued to engage in riots. They also attacked journalists there.

Law and order in Tamil Nadu is already so bad that a village administrative officer was hacked to death in his office. Now the DMK has created an unsafe situation for the government officials in the district collector’s office itself. If these DMK goons are not bound by the orders of a District Collector, imagine what they would do to the common people.“, he further added.

Alleged Case Of Medical Negligence Once Again: Pregnant Woman in Thiruvannamalai Loses Baby, Doctor Absent Says Baby’s Father

A pregnant woman who developed labour pain late in the night of 29 October 2023 lost her newborn due to alleged medical negligence at a Primary Health Centre in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.

The family members were in despair upon hearing the news of the loss of the infant. The woman’s husband spoke to newspersons detailing the sequence of events that occurred right from the time of admission.

He said, “We came at 11 PM to Thellar Government Primary Health Centre (PHC) because my wife started having contractions. We were asked to come to the hospital even when the labour pain was mild. I got her admitted at night itself. They said everything was normal and the delivery could be conducted here itself. At 3 AM, they said they would not be able to handle it so they called for an ambulance. The ambulance arrived but they again said the baby was healthy and they could conduct the delivery there itself. After 3 AM, they said there was some difficulty in the delivery process but they assured us they would take care of it.”

He further added that they took all the reports at night and pretended as if the doctor was inside the room.

“When we asked them, they said they had shown the reports to the doctor and he asked to carry on with the delivery at the PHC itself. They said everything (vitals) was normal, that BP was normal and the baby was fine. At around 7-7.45 AM, they said the baby was born. But they said that the baby was not breathing and were doing CPR. They were doing this CPR for 2 hours. The doctor was nowhere to be seen. He came at 9.30 AM and until that time, they were pretending as if he was inside the room. They pretended to keep an “air hose” for the baby. All duty doctors come at 9.30 AM only. There is no doctor here at night, there were only 2 nurses and it was them who conducted the delivery.”, he said.

Such instances of medical negligence are becoming a frequent feature in Tamil Nadu. Some of the recent incidents of medical negligence include:

  • Head Constable Kothandapani’s 10-year-old daughter fell into a coma due to alleged medical negligence at Egmore Children’s Hospital.
  • Kalpana, a pregnant woman, tragically passed away after a caesarean operation at Virudhachalam government hospital.
  • 17-year-old football player Priya R lost her life due to medical negligence involving a tightly bound band following knee surgery.
  • A one-and-a-half-year-old toddler passed away after his right hand was amputated, sparking allegations of medical negligence at the Government Institute of Child Health in Egmore.
  • A 10-month-old girl died after receiving a vaccination at an Anganwadi centre in Tanjore, with parents suspecting the vaccine as the cause.
  • A woman, Jyoti, had to amputate her arm due to alleged medical negligence after angio treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital. Her husband claimed doctors gave no explanation and removed flesh from her limb, raising concerns about further amputations.

In addition to the allegations of medical negligence, claims of medical shortage have also been raised. Here are a few:

  • Reports of medicine shortages in Tamil Nadu government hospitals in 2022, with doctors claiming shortages of essential drugs.
  • Medications experiencing significant shortages included Ciprofloxacin, Furosemide, Omeprazole, Clopidogrel, and Cefotaxime.
  • Primary Health Centres faced shortages of snake bite medicines, antibiotics, and intravenous fluids.
  • DMK Health Minister Ma Subramanian denied the shortages and encouraged people to report any issues to the helpline number 104.

Critics of the DMK, including BJP functionaries and several netizens questioned whether this was the “Dravidian Model” – a model of “dawn” that the DMK government had promised in the 2021 assembly elections.

BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary SG Suryah posted a Tamil quote that said that the laws/justice would be scavenging on the dead under a demon’s reign.

BJP Tamil Nadu Industrial Cell Vice President Selva Kumar lashed out at the DMK government saying that it is the worst government in history of the state. He said that government hospitals which are supposed to save the lives of the poor are turning into mortuaries calling for the resignation of Health Minister Ma. Subramanian.
