Woke Leftist And Self-Styled Musician TM Krishna Turns DMK Lackey, Sings Song Praising Rabid Anti-Hindu Demagogue EVR In Front Of MK Stalin

TM Krishna Turns DMK Lackey, Sings Song Praising Rabid Anti-Hindu Demagogue EVR In Front Of MK Stalin

Chennai witnessed a controversial turn at the annual Chennai Sangamam – Namma Ooru Thiruvizha on 13 January 2025 when musician-activist TM Krishna, known for his self-styled persona and contentious views, performed a song glorifying Dravidian ideologue EV Ramasamy (EVR, hailed as Periyar by his followers). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the event at 18 locations across Chennai, showcasing performances from over 1,300 artists from six states.

Krishna’s rendition, staged at the inaugural event, came across as a thinly veiled political act. Clad in a lungi and black shirt, Krishna sang an ode to EVR, emphasizing his so-called “fiery eyes” and “tiger-like voice,” glorifying a man infamous for his inflammatory rhetoric. The audience quickly identified the subject of the song as ‘Periyar‘, shouting his name repeatedly, drawing applause from Stalin.

The Chennai Sangamam festival, held annually during Pongal, is organized by the Department of Arts and Culture. This year, it features over 50 folk art forms, food festivals, and handicrafts by Poompuhar. However, Krishna’s performance shifted the spotlight from cultural celebration to ideological grandstanding.

EVR’s legacy, is filled with anti-Hindu sentiments and so-called social reforms, has always been criticized by his own peers for fostering division. His incendiary remarks, including calls for Brahmin genocide and derogatory comments about women, Muslims, and Christians, are well-documented. His personal life, including his marriage to a much younger woman to secure his wealth, and allegations of coercive tactics to enforce his views, add layers of controversy.

TM Krishna, a vocal critic of traditional Carnatic music’s alleged Brahmin roots, paradoxically sang praises of a figure who sought to erase his own community’s cultural identity. His act not only endorses EVR’s divisive ideology but also raises questions about his selective activism, which often targets Hindu traditions while sidestepping broader issues.

While the festival claims to celebrate Tamil culture and folk arts, TM Krishna’s performance turned it into a platform for political sycophancy, aligning with the DMK’s narrative. Critics argue that this reduces a cultural festival into an ideological battleground, undermining the spirit of unity it aims to foster.

As Chennai Sangamam continues its schedule across Tamil Nadu, questions loom about the appropriateness of using cultural platforms for political and ideological posturing, overshadowing the rich heritage the festival claims to celebrate.

Speaking to Sun News, he said, “Chennai Sangamam is an important thing. We must speak about the culture and arts of Tamil Nadu. There are a variety of artforms, traditions, culture in Tamil Nadu. Everything does not reach everyone – it is concentrated in specific towns/villages and districts. If you take in Chennai, some art/music events occur in some places and some others take place elsewhere. We must break all this, and it is important we do that. My biggest philosophy is that all artforms, cultures, people are equal. And in that way, everything must be shared with everyone. Everything has a history, depth, and for that this must take place at a single stage.”

This comes across as ironic because the same EVR or Periyar he is hailing through his ‘music’ denounced Tamil as “Saniyan” and encouraged his followers to speak in English! And to top it all, EVR was not even a Tamilian in the first place!

Part-Time Work-From-Home Politician Once Again Proves He’s A Dravidian Stock, Wishes For Tamil New Year 4 Months Earlier

Part-Time Work-From-Home Politician Once Again Proves He's A Dravidian Stock, Wishes For Tamil New Year 4 Months Earlier

Actor Vijay, a self-styled part-time politician who has once again proved that he is no different from the DMK.

While sharing his wishes for Pongal on social media, the TVK leader also wished people for Tamil New Year.

In 2026, with true social justice, true equal justice, true equality, true peace, true women’s safety, public safety and happiness will be permanent, and the goal of good governance for all of us will be fulfilled. As a prelude to that, let the victory of Pongal brim on the occasion of this 2025 Thai festival. Pongal or Pongal! On this Tamil festival, let us pledge to make Tamil Nadu stand tall and proud. Happy Pongal and Tamil New Year to everyone!“, Vijay wrote in his message.

Right from the party’s so-called ‘Secular Social Justice Ideologies’ to asking for abolishing the Governor’s post, to opposing NEET, resisting Hindi, and advocating for a two-language policy, part-time politician Vijay has been doing nothing but aping the DMK.

Earlier, instead of wishing for 2024 Tamil New Year which is a significant festival for Hindus in Tamil Nadu, Vijay chose to wish his fans and followers for Ambedkar Jayanti, which coincidentally falls on the same day. This is the same strategy employed by the DMK on the auspicious occasion of Hindu celebrations and festivals such as Vinayakar Chaturthi, Saraswathi Pooja, and other festive occasions. Vijay also did not acknowledge or wish the people of the state for Vinayakar Chaturthi, a festival celebrated by 87.58% of the Hindu population. On the other hand he extended greetings for Onam, a Hindu festival celebrated in Kerala because the actor has a significant fan base in the Malayalam state.

Puthaandu or the Tamil New Year marks the first day of the first month (Chithirai) of the Hindu Tamil calendar that is based on the solar cycle. It usually falls on the 14th of April of the English Gregorian calendar.

However, the DMK and other ‘Dravidian Stockists’ observe Pongal (which occurs around January 14) as Tamil New Year as they argue that celebrating Chithirai 1 as the beginning of a new year amounts to following a ‘Brahmin-dominated’ or Sanskritic tradition which goes against Dravidian ideologies. It is nothing but an attempt to delink Hinduism from Tamil culture so that proselytizing forces can Christianize Pongal festival.

‘Censorship King’ Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg Who Moderates Content With Leftist Media And Fact-Checkers Gets Basic Facts Wrong, Says ‘Incumbent’ In India Lost 2024 Elections

Meta apologised to India for Zuckerberg’s remarks on the 2024 Elections, saying they were an "inadvertent error" on his part.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram who used to deplatform content creators with ‘fact-checks’ of third party fact-checking programme of leftist media and fact-checkers has now blatantly peddled false news about the election outcomes of India.

In a podcast with Joe Rogan, Mark Zuckerberg said “Lot of people in the US focus on this as an American phenomenon but I kind of think that the reaction to COVID probably caused a breakdown in trust in a lot of governments around the world. 2024 was a big election year around the world. And all these countries, India and just a ton of countries that had elections. The incumbents basically lost every single one. So, there is some sort of a global phenomenon where the.. whether it was because of inflation or the economic policies to deal with COVID or just how the governments dealt with COVID, seems to have had this effect that’s global.”

Zuckerberg who till now had used leftist fact-checkers to moderate content is factually wrong as Narendra Modi-led BJP in India won a historic third term in June 2024.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hit back at Zuckerberg saying that his claim that most incumbent governments, including India in 2024 elections, lost post-COVID is factually incorrect.

As the world’s largest democracy, India conducted the 2024 elections with over 640 million voters. People of India reaffirmed their trust in NDA led by PM Narendra Modi ji’s leadership.

The minister expressed disappointment over Zuckerberg’s statement, calling on Meta to prioritize facts and credibility. “It’s disappointing to see misinformation from Mr. Zuckerberg himself,” he added, urging the tech giant to adhere to higher standards of accuracy in public discourse.

Facebook has faced criticism for allegedly deplatforming content creators through fact-checking mechanisms perceived to have a leftist bias.

The Babylon Bee, a satirical website, known for its conservative-leaning humor, has experienced content removal and account suspensions on Facebook. In March 2018, an article satirizing CNN was labeled “false” by fact-checking partner Snopes, leading to a Facebook notification threatening to limit The Babylon Bee’s content distribution and monetization. Facebook later identified the notification as a mistake and apologized. Additionally, in October 2020, a satirical piece about Senator Mazie Hirono resulted in Facebook demonetizing The Babylon Bee’s page, citing policies against incitement to violence. These actions have been interpreted by some as targeting conservative or Christian viewpoints.

In August 2018, Facebook deleted videos posted by PragerU, a conservative nonprofit organization that creates educational content. The platform later restored the content, stating that PragerU’s videos had been falsely reported as hate speech. This incident contributed to perceptions of an anticonservative bias in Facebook’s content moderation practices.

It is ironical that Mark Zuckerberg, through Meta’s platforms like Facebook and Instagram, has utilized third-party fact-checkers as part of broader content moderation strategies is today peddling false news himself on a podcast show.

Temples Burnt, Homes Razed, Hindus Persecuted: Journalist Sahar Zand Exposes Violent Attacks On Hindus In Bangladesh Under Islamist Yunus Regime

British-Iranian journalist Sahar Zand has shed light on the ongoing struggles faced by Bangladesh’s Hindu community, which has been subjected to violent attacks from Muslim mobs in the wake of Sheikh Hasina's ousting as Prime Minister. The 26-minute radio documentary,

In a startling revelation, British-Iranian journalist Sahar Zand has shed light on the ongoing struggles faced by Bangladesh’s Hindu community, which has been subjected to violent attacks from Muslim mobs in the wake of Sheikh Hasina’s ousting as Prime Minister. The 26-minute radio documentary, released on 10 January 2025, challenges the government’s efforts to downplay the escalating violence against Hindus.

Zand worked alongside local Hindu activists Bonamali and Sukanto for the documentary, visiting affected areas such as a Hindu-majority village in Northern Bangladesh. There, she witnessed firsthand the aftermath of an arson attack that destroyed a Hindu family’s storehouse. While the family escaped injury, the destruction left the farmer devastated, having lost over a year’s worth of income. The barn was left charred with collapsed roofs, scorched straw, and crops. Zand described the scene as gut-wrenching, noting the profound impact on the farmer, who remained too terrified to speak on the record.

Bonamali further explained that such attacks on the Hindu community occur regularly, with as many as 8-9 cases reported every week in Northern Bangladesh alone. These include physical assaults, extortion, rape, the destruction of homes and temples, and even murders. As a result, many Hindus are considering fleeing the country, packing their belongings and preparing to cross the border into India.

Sukanto shared a heartbreaking story of Jayanta, a 14-year-old Hindu boy who was killed by Bangladesh Border Guard forces while attempting to escape to India. Jayanta had been aware of the attacks on Hindus through social media and, after saying goodbye to his family, never returned. His mother later learned of his tragic death at the border.

Zand also explored the rise in Islamist extremism in Bangladesh, which has contributed to increased violence against minorities. She interviewed Mahmudul Hasan Gunovi, a radical Islamic cleric with ties to the extremist group Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, whose inflammatory speeches have reportedly fueled anti-Hindu sentiments. Gunovi dismissed accusations of inciting violence against Hindus, instead blaming Hindu extremists for stirring up conflict. During the interview, he justified the killing of a Hindu man by a mob as “justice” for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

The documentary also highlighted attacks on Hindu temples and crematoriums, with extremist mobs vandalizing sacred sites and converting them into mosques. Zand was confronted by a Muslim mob during her investigation and detailed the terrifying experience of being trapped in her car while the crowd attacked her local producer and attempted to set her vehicle on fire.

In addition to physical violence, Hindu activists such as Bonamali and Sukanto have expressed their determination to stay and fight for their community despite the dangers. Zand’s investigation underscores the ongoing suffering of Hindus in Bangladesh, who face daily persecution, with religious sites, temples, and even family homes being destroyed or repurposed for extremist purposes.

Since the fall of Dhaka on 5 August 2024, reports of violent attacks against Hindus have surged, with numerous temples, shops, and homes destroyed. The situation has also led to the forced resignations of Hindu teachers and officials and the widespread coercion of Hindus to join the Islamist group Jamaat-e-Islami. There have been multiple instances of idol vandalism and blasphemy charges, with many Hindus facing systemic persecution under the interim government of Muhammad Yunus.

Zand’s documentary and reporting bring attention to the tragic and ongoing plight of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, calling for greater international awareness of the violence and discrimination they continue to endure.

Social Media Reveals Violence Against Hindus In Bangladesh

Beyond the documented attacks, numerous videos and images circulating on social media have shown assaults on Hindu homes, businesses, and temples in Bangladesh, framed as part of the broader political violence. The authenticity of some of these videos remains unverified.

Among several videos shared on X, including one showing a mob attacking the home of Hindus in Bamunia Palpara, Gabtali Upazila, Bogra District.

Another video depicts a Hindu girl in distress in Mathbaria police station area, Pirojpur district, pleading for help in Bangla.

Additional footage shows the Shani Temple in Navgraha Bari, Chittagong, being set ablaze by rioters.

In Shibpur Upazila, Narsingdi District, a Hindu temple was attacked around 5 PM.

Yudhistir Govinda Das, an ISKCON India spokesperson, reported that an ISKCON center in Meherpur (Khulna division) was burned, including the deities of Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and Subhadra Devi. Fortunately, three devotees residing there managed to escape.

A video from Visegrad 24 shows Islamists surrounding Hindu homes and threatening the occupants.

Subbulakshmi And Gandhimathi: 2 Tamil Nadu Temple Elephants Dead In A Span Of 4 Months

Subbulakshmi And Gandhimathi: 2 Tamil Nadu Temple Elephants Dead In A Span Of 4 Months

In a tragic incident, Gandhimathi, the 56-year-old temple elephant of the renowned Nellaiappar Temple in Tirunelveli, passed away on 12 January 2025 after battling prolonged health issues. The elephant had been suffering from age-related ailments, particularly severe joint pain. Minister for Municipal Administration KN Nehru, District Collector Dr KP Karthikeyan, MLA Abdul Wahab, and Tirunelveli Corporation Mayor G Ramakrishnan paid their respects to the beloved female elephant.

Gandhimathi had been brought to the temple in 1985 with contributions from generous donors. In recent years, her health had declined due to old age, and despite ongoing treatment, her condition worsened last month. Sources indicated that she had been unable to lie down to sleep recently, resorting to standing while resting.

On 11 January 2025, Gandhimathi attempted to lie down but could not rise again. Veterinarians and heavy cranes were quickly deployed to help lift and support her. Though she briefly stood, she collapsed again. Despite extensive medical efforts, Gandhimathi passed away early Sunday morning. Special rituals were conducted, and devotees were allowed to pay their final respects.

Gandhimathi was laid to rest near the temple, and her death has left the local community in mourning. As she was an integral part of the temple’s daily rituals for decades, devotees deeply feel her loss.

Demise of Elephant Subbulakshmi – Kunnakudi Shanmughanathar Temple

Previously, Subbulakshmi, an elephant who had been a cherished resident of the Kunnakudi Shanmughanathar temple in Karaikudi for over 30 years, tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a fire. The Elephant Mandapam, located near the temple’s stairway, had a palm leaf roof that covered the tin sheet structure designed to shield the elephant from the sun. On the night of 12 September 2024, a fire broke out in this makeshift shed, reportedly caused by an electrical malfunction.

In an attempt to escape the flames, Subbulakshmi managed to exit the hall on her own. The temple staff and visitors quickly noticed the injured elephant and alerted the temple administration. Police, forest officials, and veterinarians from across Tamil Nadu arrived to provide immediate care. Despite their best efforts, Subbulakshmi succumbed to her injuries. Kunnakudi Ponnambala Adigalar and the temple community expressed their grief and paid their respects following her passing. The loss of the cherished elephant has left the local community and devotees deeply saddened.

Critics have blamed both the Adheenam and the HR&CE for Subbulakshmi’s untimely death. They pointed out that the elephant was tied with chains, which may have prevented her from escaping the fire, making the temple authorities and the government department responsible. Despite significant income generated through public donations, it is alleged that the funds were not properly utilized for the elephant’s care or safety. Notably, the Kunnakudi Adheenam has often praised the Dravidian model of governance under the DMK, raising further questions about how the elephant was confined in a metal shed with chains. Given that the roof was thatched, critics argue that it was common sense to recognize the danger of a fire, which made it nearly impossible for the elephant to escape or survive.

‘File Nomination From Jail’: Delhi Police Oppose Former AAP Councillor & Current AIMIM Candidate Tahir Hussain’s Plea For Interim Bail, He Wanted To Teach Hindus A Lesson During 2020 Delhi Riots

The city police on Monday opposed a plea filed by 2020 riots accused Tahir Hussain before the Delhi High Court seeking interim bail to file nomination papers for the upcoming Assembly polls.

Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has fielded Tahir Hussain as a candidate from the Mustafabad constituency ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.

Opposing Tahir Hussain’s interim bail plea, the Delhi Police’s counsel submitted before a bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna that the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor may file his nomination papers from Tihar jail. On the other hand, Tahir Hussain’s counsel argued that he needs to file nomination papers physically and give a true account of his assets.

Tahir Hussain’s counsel cited the interim bail granted to Engineer Rashid, accused in a terror funding case being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

“You can file a nomination even while sitting in jail,” remarked the Justice Krishna-led Bench, as it adjourned the hearing on Tahir Hussain’s interim bail plea till Tuesday, when the court is slated to hear his plea for regular bail.

On December 24, the Delhi HC issued a notice to the city police on a plea filed by Tahir Hussain seeking bail in connection with Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma’s murder case in the 2020 North-East Delhi riots.

According to the police, the suspended AAP councillor admitted during interrogation that he intended to use his political influence and financial resources to target Hindus. He reportedly confessed to being the mastermind behind the northeast Delhi riots

“Issue notice. Status report/reply be filed before the next date of hearing with an advance copy to learned counsel for the petitioner. List before the concerned Roster Bench on 14.01.2025,” it had ordered.

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP has criticised AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for fielding Tahir Hussain as a candidate from the Mustafabad constituency for the upcoming Assembly elections. The announcement drew sharp criticism from the BJP, which accused AIMIM of acting as the AAP’s “B-team” and warned of serious consequences if any attempt was made to incite communal unrest in the national capital.

Speaking to IANS, BJP State Vice President Kapil Mishra accused Owaisi and other “secular parties” of provoking Hindus in Delhi by fielding Hussain. “This is a clear attempt to disrupt the peace in Delhi. Last time, Shaheen Bagh protests were staged before the elections. If riots are incited in the name of Tahir Hussain this time, there will be consequences,” Mishra warned.

Responding to the allegations, AIMIM’s national spokesperson Waris Pathan countered, “Those making baseless allegations should introspect. People living in glass houses should not throw stones at others. Didn’t the BJP give a ticket to Pragya Singh Thakur, who is an accused in the Malegaon blast case?” Pathan asserted that the AIMIM candidates, Tahir Hussain and Shafaur Rahman, are innocent.

“They are undertrial prisoners. What will critics say when they are acquitted?” he asked.

Dravidianists In Coimbatore Detained Try To Throw Beef At BJP Office

Dravidianists In Coimbatore Detained Try To Throw Beef At BJP Office

On 13 January 2024, Aathithamizhar Katchi members were detained in Coimbatore for attempting to throw beef meat inside a BJP office as part of their protest.

The act of protest was in response a BJP functionary’s objections to a beef stall set up near the Veeramathi Amman Temple in Udayampalayam, Coimbatore. In response, five Aathithamizhar Katchi activists marched towards the Coimbatore BJP office, raising slogans and demanding the arrest of the BJP functionary. As they attempted to throw beef meat at the office, police intervened and arrested them before they could carry out their actions.

Context

Tensions escalated in Udaiyampalayam, a village on the outskirts of Coimbatore, over a beef biryani stall set up near the Veeramathi Amman Temple. Villagers protested, citing its proximity to the temple and a nearby school as violating local norms. The village, home to temples including Mariamman, Veeramathi Amman, and Karupparayan, had previously regulated such stalls in public areas near temples or schools.

The pushcart eatery, operated by Ravi and his wife Abitha, faced objections from BJP executive Subramani, who demanded its removal. An argument ensued, with Ravi initially agreeing to relocate the stall but Abitha refusing. Subramani recorded the exchange and posted the video on social media, claiming that the village supported the decision to prohibit beef sales and was known to CPM councillor V. Ramamoorthy.

Later, it is alleged that Abitha filed a complaint with the Coimbatore Police Commissioner, alleging that Subramani had threatened them on 25 December 2024, and again on 5 January 2025. She questioned why beef was being singled out while other non-vegetarian foods like fish and chicken were sold in the same area. Following her complaint, the police registered a case against Subramani under Sections 351(2), 126(2), 192, and 196.

The case triggered unrest among villagers, with over 1,000 locals staging a protest near the temple. They condemned the police action against Subramani and reiterated their demand to remove the beef stall. Protesters argued that the stall’s location near the temple and school was inappropriate and offensive to public sentiment.

In response to the escalating tensions, the village committee, reportedly on orders from the headman, evicted seven roadside eateries, including Abitha and Ravi’s pushcart. This decision was criticized by CPM and CPI leaders, who petitioned the police commissioner to protect food rights and ensure the couple’s safety.

Ramamoorthy acknowledged that the couple had initially informed him of their plans to open the stall but said the location they ultimately chose—closer to the temple—had caused opposition from right-wing groups. He said there were no legal restrictions against selling beef but attributed the backlash to the stall’s proximity to the temple. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai called for a thorough investigation, stating only part of the video had been released.

Vishnuvardhan Says Rajini’s ‘Billa’ Didn’t Do All That Well; Rajini’s Publicist Responds

Vishnuvardhan Says Rajini’s ‘Billa’ Didn’t Do All That Well; Rajini’s Publicist Responds

Director Vishnuvardhan has stirred a hornet’s nest by claiming that the original superhit film ‘Billa’, featuring Rajinikanth in the lead, didn’t do all that well when it released in 1980, prompting a sharp response from Rajinikanth’s publicist, Riaz Ahmed, who has pointed out that the film was a silver jubilee hit and that Vishnuvardhan could confirm this with Suresh Balaji, the producer of the original version.

Director Vishnuvardhan, who has been promoting his upcoming film ‘Nesippaya’, which features Akash Murali and Aditi Shankar in the lead, recently gave an interview to a channel during which he spoke about his film ‘Billa’, which features Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara in the lead. While talking about his film, he made a remark about the original film ‘Billa’, which was released in 1980 and featured Rajinikanth in the lead.

Referring to Rajinikanth-starrer Billa, Vishnuvardhan said, “Do you know the truth? ‘Billa’ did not actually run all that well. Did any of you know? It did not run all that well. It made me wonder, ‘Am I going to do this film?’ Then I had to see what I actually liked in the film. That was when I realized that they had taken a dark character and made the film. That is a great idea.”

Now, Rajinikanth’s publicist has taken to his X timeline to set the record straight.

Tagging Vishnuvardhan, he wrote, “Dear @vishnu_dir sir, I would like to politely bring to your attention that the 1980 release #Billa was a Silver Jubilee Hit . You may kindly confirm this with the producer of the original version, Mr Suresh Balaji. I humbly request you to ensure accuracy in your statements to avoid sharing incorrect information. #RajjniBillaBlockbuster #ThalaivarNirandharam”

Interestingly, Vishnuvardhan’s film ‘Billa’, featuring Ajith, was a remake of the R Krishnamoorthy’s ‘Billa’, featuring Rajinikanth in the lead and produced by well-known producer Suresh Balaje. The film, along with Rajinikanth, also featured Sripriya and Balaji, and was the remake of a Hindi film called Don, featuring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.

Siddaramaiah-Shivakumar Power Tussle Likely To Overshadow Congress Legislature Party meet

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah denies any power-sharing pact with Dy CM Shivakumar, affirming they'll follow the high command's instructions.

The infighting in the ruling Congress in Karnataka is likely to escalate as the camps of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM and state chief DK Shivakumar are most likely to take a confrontational position over power-sharing in the CLP meeting scheduled for Monday evening.

Though the leaders, who will be attending the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), are claiming that the meeting’s agenda is to discuss the party’s convention to be organised on January 21 in Belagavi, sources claimed that the discussion on power-sharing and dinner party politics will take place.

The sources stated that following the statement of CM Siddaramaiah that his chair is not vacant, bitterness has grown between the Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar camps. Speaking to the media on Monday, Congress MLA H.C. Balakrishna stated that Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar will become the Chief Minister after Siddaramaiah.

“The matter of power-sharing is discussed in the media and not among the MLAs. After CM Siddaramaiah, it is Shivakumar, who will come to that post. Who else is the CM candidate? However, whether Shivakumar will become the CM in this term will be decided by the high command.”

Reacting to the demand of the Vokkaligasa Sangha to make Shivakumar the CM, he stated, “It is not possible to make one the CM if someone is demanding. They might have demanded representation for the community. The final decision will be taken by the high command.”

Minister for Transport Ramalingareddy, stated, “Any changes in the Congress party, whether it is related to the state president or the Chief Minister, the high command will take a call. They will decide if any changes are to be made.”

“I am not a contender for the post of the state president. The Chief Minister post is not vacant. In today’s meeting, the discussion will be focused on the Belagavi convention and no other issues will be discussed,” Minister Reddy stated.

Minister for PWD Satish Jarkiholi, stated, the high command will take a call in the party. They will decide on who will become the CM or the state party president.

“There is no haste in this regard. The high command will decide at an appropriate time. The media is giving half-truths regarding the issue of change of the CM,” Minister Jarkiholi stated.

National General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala is arriving in Karnataka to discuss the Belagavi convention and some other issues will also come up for the discussion. The other matter will include a discussion on the Internal reservation, he stated. When asked about the demand for a Dalit CM, Minister Jarkiholi stated that CM Siddaramaiah is in charge and it won’t be possible to accommodate another CM now, he said.

“I do not know about the discussion on power-sharing. Our party President D.K. Shivakumar will offer special prayers to gods and there is nothing wrong with it. He has been doing it for 40 years and will continue in future as well,” he maintained.

Senior leader R.V. Deshpande, stated that the speculation about change of CM is a media creation. “There is no vacancy as far as CM’s post is concerned as of today. Hence, the CM is saying right. There is no vacancy…If Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar aspires to become the CM, there is nothing wrong with that also. I may also have the aspiration, and no one can stop me. What CM is saying is that at present he is the CM and hence there is no vacancy,” he stated.

When asked about many leaders coming forward to stake claims for key posts, he said, “I am a nine-term legislator and am I not eligible? Ultimately, the party will make a decision. I am nobody and I belong to the Congress party. The Congress party has to decide on who should be the CM and the Congress Legislature Party should endorse it. It is a simple democratic process and nothing more than that.”

“We are all united and working together. There is absolutely nothing wrong with hosting dinners. The agenda is very clear, the meeting is about the Belagavi convention scheduled on January 21. It’s going to be a grand function,” he stated.

Despite the leaders saying that things are under control, sources said that all is not well within the Congress party. The struggle for power has begun and is likely to escalate in the coming days.
