“Dalits Not Safe Under DMK Rule, Day Is Not Far When We’ll Be Forced To Paste Posters For Inbanidhi”: DMK Functionary Resigns

In a major political development, DMK member Ezhil Arasan has announced his resignation from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), citing dissatisfaction with the party’s treatment of Dalits and the lack of importance given to their issues. Arasan, who previously served as the Deputy Coordinator of the Information Technology team in the Salem Central District Corporation and is currently a Union representative, revealed his decision in a press release issued on 4 February 2025. He also cited the growing emphasis on working for Inbanidhi, the son of DMK scion and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, as the reason for his decision. Inbanidhi is also the grandson of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Ezhil Arasan (35), who hails from Boominaickenpatti near Omalur in Salem district, made the announcement about his resignation from the party.

In a statement shared on his social media, he wrote, “I, the former deputy coordinator of the IT team in Salem Central District DMK and current union representative, am resigning from all party responsibilities, including basic membership, for the following reasons.”

He continued, stating that under the DMK’s leadership, Dalits were not receiving adequate protection or priority within the party. He mentioned that the party’s treatment of issues, like the act of putting up banners and posters for his grandson, was a clear example of this lack of concern. “We cannot accept this situation,” he remarked. “Hence, I will no longer continue in this party.

As per The Hindu Tamil, Arasan provided additional details about his long-standing association with the party, which began in 2015 when he joined as a basic member and took on several roles. He mentioned that despite repeatedly asking for solutions to the party’s internal issues, no action was taken. “I have been ignored, and my concerns remain unanswered,” he said.

Arasan also criticized the rapid rise of Udhayanidhi, who, in a short period, transitioned from acting in films to high positions within the party, including youth wing secretary, MLA, minister, and deputy chief minister. He felt that senior party leaders like Durai Murugan and E.V. Velu were sidelined, and the lack of respect for long-serving members like himself was evident. Additionally, he was disheartened by the emphasis on Inbanidhi as an external force, which he felt disturbed many longtime supporters. He also shared his disappointment over the disregard shown to the Collector during the Jallikattu competition in Madurai.

Reflecting on his frustrations, Arasan expressed that he would no longer be able to contribute to the party’s future endeavors. He warned that many more, especially from rural areas, might follow suit and resign from the DMK. Arasan’s resignation marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Tamil Nadu, with concerns over Dalit rights and representation especially within a party like the DMK which has claimed it has achieved “social justice” and “eradicated caste”!

Karaikudi Woman Cop Injured And Hospitalized Following Alleged Attack By VCK Functionaries At Police Station

A controversy has erupted following a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector (SI) Pranitha, who accused members of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) of attacking her at the Somanathapuram Police Station in Karaikudi.

Reports indicate that the altercation began over a dispute related to construction work on temple land. When VCK North District Secretary Ilaya Gowthaman, along with a group of party members, inquired about the complaint, SI Pranitha, who had recently been transferred to another station, reportedly informed them that she cannot help with the case and advised them to consult higher authorities. However, the party members were displeased, claiming that the police were not taking action in their favor. This sparked a heated exchange.

It is alleged that during the argument, Pranitha was attacked by the VCK functionaries and collapsed. Her supporters claim that the attack led to her injuries. She was subsequently taken to the Karaikudi Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. In response to the incident, SI Pranitha has filed a case against the VCK functionary, and an investigation is currently underway. The matter, involving the VCK functionary allegedly entering the police station and attacking the female officer, has stirred significant controversy.

Speaking to the press, the mother of the female police officer claimed that the alleged attack was a premeditated act of revenge orchestrated by VCK goons. She said, “Today, my daughter was relieved from the Amaravati station and was about to join the police in Sivaganga the next day. When she was about to leave the petitioner came for questioning, she said that the DSP has called me and you may further inquire there. However, upon learning about her leaving, a group of ten individuals, including Ilaya Gautama, Kannan, and Manokar together with a gang of ten reportedly surrounded the my child allegedly threatened her, saying, ‘I will see how you leave this place, just like SI Karpagam’s transfer, I’ll drive you away,’ made disrespectful remarks, stating, ‘I’ll tear your shirt and stars.’ They have pulled her shirt, scratched her hands and harassed my child in the station. I found out about the incident at the station and rushed to take her to a clinic nearby. She was struggling to breathe. The doctor gave her some pills and hot water, which helped her regain some breath. I immediately took her to the hospital, and on the way, I found out that her hand had been injured during the assault, with blood oozing from the wound which she was unaware off. I quickly admitted her to the Government Hospital.”

DMK Ally SP MP Akhilesh Yadav Address Gathering In Hindi At DMK Student Wing Protest Against UGC Draft Rules

On 6 February 2025, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav joined the DMK student wing’s protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the UGC draft rules. DMK MP Kanimozhi, RJD’s Manoj Jha, CPI(M)’s John Brittas, VCK’s Thol Thirumavalavan, and MDMK leader Vaiko were among the opposition leaders who took part in the protest.

Addressing the gathering in Hindi before switching to English on and off, SP MP and I.N.D.I. bloc ally Akhilesh Yadav strongly criticized the central government, declaring his firm opposition to the National Education Policy (NEP).

It is noteworthy that the DMK is against Hindi imposition especially when it comes to the central government.

He alleged that the New Education Policy (NEP) was a conspiracy to hand over universities to industrialists. He said, “I think that the new education policy that has come is somewhere a conspiracy to give universities to industrialists and to appoint vice-chancellors of big universities so that the power can go in their hands.”

He claimed that the NEP is designed to make state governments subservient. He said, “For this, new education policies are being brought and appointments are also being made and they are working to make the state governments slaves.”

He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of enabling corporate control over politics. He said, “If we take the support of industrialists and stand with them, then one day these industrialists will make the government and politics servants. Atal Bihari ji had said that if you keep supporting illiterate people, one day you will become the servant of industrialists.”

Yadav implied that the NEP is part of a broader agenda to weaken state governance, he said, “They want to take over the power of state government politics and politicians are servants of industry.”

Emphasising his strong protest against NEP, he said, “We can never agree and can never support new education policy. I am against the NEP, I am against the Bharatiya Janata Party.”

Yadav claimed that north Indian students also are opposing NEP. He said, “This message goes to the students of India, even the North Indian students will support you at this moment.”

The protest followed the Tamil Nadu Assembly’s passage of a resolution on 9 January 2025, urging the Centre to withdraw the regulations immediately. The resolution received support from all parties except the BJP, including NDA ally Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and the state’s main opposition, AIADMK.

The UGC’s new draft guidelines propose that candidates can qualify for faculty positions in higher education institutions by passing the UGC-NET in a subject of their choice, even if their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are in different disciplines. Additionally, the guidelines broaden the eligibility criteria for vice-chancellors, allowing professionals from academia, research institutions, public policy, public administration, and industry to be considered for the role.

How Millions Of US Taxpayer Dollars Reached Terror-Linked Charities Through USAID

The USAID’s links to terror funding getting unearthed by the day. In this article, we will take a look at 3 organisations disguised as charities that are “allegedly” linked to terror outfits in the Indian subcontinent.

Muslim Aid

Muslim Aid, one of the largest Islamic charities globally, has come under scrutiny for its ties to Islamist extremist groups and terror financing. Founded in 1985 in London, the charity has grown significantly, with an annual revenue in the tens of millions of pounds. However, its connections to violent organizations have raised alarms among counter-terrorism experts and government agencies.

The charity is widely considered a key outpost of Jamaat-e-Islami, an Islamist movement linked to violence and extremism, that was founded to propagate Islamic values across the Indian subcontinent and advocate for an Islamic political system.

In 2013, a Bangladeshi war crimes tribunal sentenced one of the charity’s founders, Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin, to death in absentia for his role in leading a Jamaat-e-Islami death squad during the 1971 Liberation War, which was responsible for abducting and murdering 18 individuals. Despite these grave accusations, Muslim Aid has continued to operate in the international aid sector.

In 2013, USAID transferred over $1.5 million to Muslim Aid through ACDI/VOCA, an international development organization.

Yet, documents obtained by the Middle East Forum through a Freedom of Information Act request suggest that Muslim Aid was investigated by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control for potential terror financing activities.

Further investigations reveal that the charity’s Australian branch has supported jihadist organizations in Indonesia. Muslim Aid’s operations have also been linked to several other instances of terror financing. The government of Bangladesh included Muslim Aid on a list of ten Islamic charities that support Islamist terrorism, while Spanish authorities accused the charity of funding jihadists in Bosnia during the 1990s.

Muslim Aid has admitted to funding groups connected to Hamas, including a grant of more than $18,000 to the al-Ihsan Charitable Society, which is designated as a terrorist sponsor by the U.S. government. Additionally, Muslim Aid’s Pakistan branch has partnered openly with Al-Khidmat, the charitable arm of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Pakistani chapter, which also collaborates with Hizbul Mujahedeen, a terrorist organization designated by both India and the US.

The charity’s Pakistan operations have been marked by further controversy, notably in 2009 when it appointed a senior official from Pakistan’s notorious Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as chairman of its board of trustees. The charity’s management has faced repeated criticism for failing to monitor its financial activities effectively. In 2012, British charity regulators censured Muslim Aid for inadequate oversight after three individuals used the organization’s infrastructure to raise funds for suicide bombings.

Other officials linked to Muslim Aid have also been involved in controversial activities. Manazir Ahsan, a prominent British Islamist, coordinated riots in the UK against novelist Salman Rushdie over his book The Satanic Verses, while Iqbal Sacranie, another leading British Islamist, expressed violent rhetoric against Rushdie. Jafer Hussain Qureshi, a senior official of Muslim Aid’s UK branch, also manages the affairs of Zakir Naik, an internationally wanted preacher with ties to terrorist groups. Qureshi has served as the trustee of the Zakat Foundation of India, which operates UPSC Civil Services training classes for Muslims and is registered under India’s Income Tax Act and the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

READ Foundation

In a further extension of these links, USAID has also provided funding to several organizations with direct connections to Jamaat-e-Islami and terrorist groups. USAID granted $600,000 to Pakistan’s READ Foundation, an organization linked to Jamaat-e-Islami, which operates schools in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir alongside its sister organization, the Ghazali Education Trust, which has ties to Hizbul Mujahideen.

The Rural Education and Development (READ) Foundation, one of the largest educational networks in the Indian subcontinent, is part of a massive network of charities and organizations controlled by Jamaat-e-Islami. READ manages nearly 400 schools in PoK and other rural areas in Pakistan, catering to over 120,000 students. While it operates in Pakistan, READ has expanded its reach with offices in the United Kingdom and a presence in the United States.

READ is a key player in the complex web of Jamaat-e-Islami’s network, which operates as a vehicle for political influence, religious proselytism, and radicalization in both the Indian subcontinent and the West. Through these charities, the Jamaat gains converts, wins votes, and extends its reach into impoverished rural communities. Al Khidmat Foundation, in particular, has been tied to fundraising for Hamas, and both Al Khidmat and Ghazali Education Trust are directly linked to Syed Salahuddin, the leader of Hizbul Mujahideen, the paramilitary wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. Hizbul Mujahideen is a designated terrorist organization in both the United States and India.

The READ Foundation has also received significant funding from U.S. taxpayers. Through intermediaries, USAID and the U.S. State Department have transferred at least $600,000 to support the READ Foundation’s schools. These funds have helped subsidize institutions that promote extremist ideologies. Notably, some READ Foundation schools encourage students to revere Mumtaz Qadri, an extremist who assassinated Punjab governor Salman Taseer in 2011. Qadri’s crime was committed in response to Taseer’s support for a Pakistani Christian woman convicted of blasphemy. READ schools have posted messages on social media praising Qadri, describing him as amessenger of Allah.Furthermore, posts from the schools have condemned the U.S. assecular terroristsand accused them of causing destruction in Iraq, painting a negative and inflammatory image of Western nations. Additionally, some READ schools have glorified violence through student performances depicting gun battles, mimicking events reminiscent of Gaza under Hamas rule.

Helping Hand for Relief And Development (HHRD)/ICNA

Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), the overseas aid branch of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), is linked to the violent Islamist movement Jamaat-e-Islami. In 2017, HHRD came under scrutiny after it was revealed that the organization had organized a conference in Pakistan with the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, leading to multiple congressional inquiries and a USAID investigation.

HHRD’s primary partner in South Asia, the Al-Khidmat Foundation, has openly financed Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, as mentioned above. In 2006, Al-Khidmat announced it had sent six million rupees to Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal. Additionally, HHRD’s parent organization, ICNA, has been found to have links to terrorist groups such as Hamas, Hizballah, and militants in Kashmir and Afghanistan.

HHRD is also associated with the Unlimited Friends Association in Gaza, which is aligned with Hamas, further cementing its ties to terrorist organizations. Speakers at ICNA conferences, including senior Hamas members, have incited violence against Jews, further raising concerns about HHRD’s involvement with extremist ideologies.

USAID provided $110,000 to Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) which has been linked to the Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation, the humanitarian wing of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the terrorist group responsible for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

PETA India & Grammy Nominee Anoushka Shankar Donate Mechanical Elephant To Kombara Sreekrishna Swami Temple, Thrissur To Replace Traditional Temple Elephants

In an effort to replace live elephants in temple ceremonies and undermine Hindu religious practices and rituals, Grammy-nominated sitarist Anoushka Shankar and PETA India have donated a life-size mechanical elephant to the Kombara Sreekrishna Swami Temple in Thrissur. This move comes after the temple made a commitment to never keep or hire real elephants for its religious rituals.

The three-meter-tall mechanical elephant, named Kombara Kannan, weighs 800 kilograms and was unveiled at the temple on Wednesday. The event was attended by Satish Vimalan, secretary of the Unnayi Variyar Memorial Kalanilayam.

Ravi Namboothiri, president of the temple, expressed his approval of the donation, saying, “We are delighted to welcome Kombara Kannan to our temple. We strongly believe that real elephants are ill-treated during festivals.”

This marks the fifth mechanical elephant that PETA India has donated to temples in Kerala, and the second in Thrissur district. The organization has also recently offered to provide a mechanical elephant to a mosque in Malappuram for use in its religious ceremonies.

The mechanical elephants are designed to mimic the movements of real elephants and are constructed from materials such as rubber, fibre, metal, mesh, foam, and steel. They run on five motors, offering a substitute for live elephants in temple rituals. PETA India has emphasized that the use of mechanical elephants would allow real elephants to remain in their natural habitats, free from captivity, chains, and mistreatment.

Despite the donation, concerns over the suitability of using mechanical elephants in religious traditions have been raised, as the move challenges long-established practices. Some view it as an attempt to influence Hindu rituals and temple customs, which have traditionally involved the use of real elephants.

Supreme Court Upholds Karnataka High Court Ruling That Necrophilia Cannot Be Classified As Rape

Supreme Court Constitutes SIT To Probe Chennai Minor Sexual Assault Case. statehood ncpcr muslim girl marriage free speech

The Supreme Court of India rejected the Karnataka government’s plea against a ruling by the Karnataka High Court, which had declined to classify necrophilia as rape under Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on 4th February 2025. The Supreme Court upheld the high court’s decision to partially acquit the accused, who had committed necrophilia with a woman’s corpse after murdering her. The high court had found the man guilty of murder but cleared him of the rape charge, stating that the offense did not fall under the definition of rape in the IPC.

Following this, the Karnataka government filed a Special Leave Petition (SPL), seeking a review of the verdict. However, Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Ahsanuddin Amanullah suggested that the matter be referred to Parliament for potential amendments to the law, if necessary. They added that the state government could provide the necessary representation to Parliament if it deemed any legal changes appropriate.

Aman Panwar, the Additional Advocate General of Karnataka, argued that the term “body” under Section 375(c) should be interpreted to include the deceased, asserting that a dead body, unable to consent, should fall within the scope of the offense. He cited the 1995 Supreme Court judgment in Paramanand Katara v. Union of India, emphasizing the need to treat the deceased with dignity. Panwar also referenced international legal precedents, such as the Supreme Court of Tennessee’s decision in State v. Brobeck, which included dead bodies within the scope of rape laws. Despite these arguments, the bench declined to intervene, stating that necrophilia is not classified as an offense under the IPC.

Karnataka High Court’s Ruling
In 2023, the Karnataka High Court, in a ruling by Justices B Veerappa and Venkatesh Naik T, determined that sexual acts committed on a dead body did not meet the criteria for rape under Section 376 of the IPC. The court absolved a man, convicted by the trial court of both murder and rape for assaulting a 21-year-old woman’s corpse of the rape charges. The High Court ruled that necrophilia did not constitute an unnatural offense or rape, stating that since a corpse is not a “human” or “person,” it did not qualify for protection under Section 375 or 377 of the IPC. The court referred to necrophilia as a psychosexual disorder but urged Parliament to create specific legislation to address such acts.

Additionally, the High Court ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in all mortuaries, both government and private, to prevent crimes against the deceased, especially women. It also emphasized the need for mortuary staff to be educated about the importance of treating the deceased with dignity and respect.

Chhattisgarh High Court’s Similar View
In 2023, the Chhattisgarh High Court echoed similar views, stating that while necrophilia is a heinous act, it does not fall under the legal definition of rape in Section 376 of the IPC or the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court upheld the acquittal of Neelkanth Neelu Nagesh, who was accused of raping a minor’s dead body, explaining that rape charges could only be applied if the victim were alive. However, the court acknowledged the seriousness of necrophilia and noted that the rights of the deceased, including dignity, must be preserved.

Global Legal Perspectives on Necrophilia
Internationally, necrophilia is addressed through various legal frameworks that protect the dignity of the deceased. In the UK, the Sexual Offences Act 2003 makes sexual acts with a corpse illegal, while in the United States, laws against necrophilia are enacted at the state level, with many states explicitly criminalizing the act. Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa also have specific legal provisions that cover sexual offenses against the deceased. Many European countries classify necrophilia as a criminal offense, often falling under laws against desecration of corpses or grave robbery.

In India, however, neither the Indian Penal Code nor its successor, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, explicitly addresses necrophilia. The BNS focuses on protecting burial sites but does not provide specific laws for crimes like necrophilia. This gap in the legal framework has led to difficulties in prosecuting such offenses, as seen in the infamous Nithari case, where the lack of specific laws hindered prosecution despite the severity of the crimes committed.

Necrophilia represents a severe violation of both legal and moral norms, not only infringing on the rights of the deceased but also causing emotional and psychological harm to their loved ones. While it may be classified as a psychosexual disorder, similar to other crimes against vulnerable individuals, it is essential that legal systems address this issue adequately. India, in particular, must consider enacting specific legislation to criminalize necrophilia and ensure the dignity of the deceased is protected. The international community has recognized the importance of safeguarding the deceased’s dignity, and India must follow suit to address this grave issue legally and ethically.

“He’s Naidu, He Belongs To Our Caste”, Says DMK Minister R Gandhi At Ranipet School Centenary Event

DMK Minister for Handlooms and Textiles, R. Gandhi, has stirred controversy after aligning himself with caste pride during a government school event that aimed to celebrate the school’s centenary. The incident, which took place on 4 February 2025, has since gone viral.

R. Gandhi attended an event organized by the School Education Department at the Vannivedu Boys Government Higher Secondary School in Ranipet district. The event was held to honor the school’s rich history, which dates back to its establishment in 1867, and to celebrate its notable alumni it produced, such as figures like Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Mu. Varadarajan, former Mizoram Governor Padmanaban, and former Election Commissioner V. M. Sambath, among others. During his speech, R. Gandhi proudly mentioned a person from his caste, smiling as he said, “Now I’ve mentioned his name, he’s Naidu, he belongs to our caste, but he won’t cast his vote for me.” This statement drew widespread backlash and criticism for its display of caste-based pride in a government school setting.

Similar to DMK Minister R. Gandhi, last month, DMK Minister for Commercial Taxes, Registration, and Stamp Act, P. Moorthy, also faced criticism for referring to his community as the “ruling class” (aanda parambarai). He further claimed that the historical sacrifices made by this particular caste during British colonial rule had been deliberately erased from history, in a public speech that was widely criticized for being laced with casteism in a school event celebrating centenary.

During his address at Thamukkam Maidan in Madurai District, Minister Moorthy emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contributions of various communities during India’s struggle for independence. “We must recognize that our history contains accounts of immense sacrifices,” he stated.

I am saying we must keep in mind that we are the ruling class (aanda parambarai). History has been hidden – you have read about it. While the deaths of a few today may gain significant attention, history reveals that thousands laid down their lives for freedom. You must show it to the country too. Today there is a history – be it Alagar Koil or Thirumogoor koil, when the British invaded us and looted us, this community sacrificed 5000 of their own. This history has been hidden.” The minister cited instances of collective sacrifice, claiming that one community lost 5,000 members during the British invasion, and 16 individuals were shot dead near Usilampatti.

He lamented that such stories of heroism remain largely unknown due to a lack of educational advancement in the past. Even though we excelled in agriculture and industry, our history was hidden. Thankfully, this is changing now, he remarked, adding that he appreciated the community’s progress in securing government employment.

The speech drew criticism for its focus on caste, with detractors arguing that it could perpetuate divisions. Opponents accused the minister of framing historical narratives through a narrow lens rather than emphasizing unity and collective contributions.

Political commentators and opposition leaders have called for the minister to clarify his remarks, asserting that speeches by public representatives should promote inclusivity and national cohesion.

DOJ Investigation Reveals Massive USAID Fraud, $9 Million Diverted To Al-Qaeda Affiliate

A multi-year investigation by the U.S. Justice Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia has uncovered significant misuse of funds by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), with millions of taxpayer dollars being diverted to terrorist organizations and fraudulent schemes.

According to the investigation, one of the most serious cases involved a Syrian national, Mahmoud Al Hafyan, who allegedly diverted over $9 million of USAID funds to the Al-Nusrah Front (ANF), a designated foreign terrorist organization affiliated with al-Qaida in Iraq. USAID’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) called this case “one of the most significant diversions of USAID-funded humanitarian aid that USAID-OIG has investigated.”

Al Hafyan, who led a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Syria with 160 employees, was accused of selling food kits meant for refugees on the black market and funneling the proceeds to ANF commanders. The food aid, originally funded by U.S. taxpayers as part of a $12 billion humanitarian initiative in Syria, was meant for food and medical supplies distributed by UN agencies and NGOs. Instead, the NGO led by Al Hafyan received $122 million over three years, a portion of which was allegedly siphoned to ANF, a group responsible for mass executions, suicide bombings, and kidnappings.

“This defendant not only defrauded the U.S. government, but he also gave the humanitarian aid he stole to a foreign terrorist organization,” U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves said in November. “While this foreign terrorist organization fought with the cruel al-Assad regime, the people who were supposed to receive the aid suffered.”

The investigation also uncovered other cases of USAID fraud and misuse of funds. A former executive of a digital consulting firm in Delaware agreed to pay a $100,000 settlement over allegations that employees knowingly submitted false claims to USAID to obtain government contracts and overbilled for non-existent work.

A global health nonprofit based in San Diego agreed to pay nearly $550,000 to settle allegations of submitting false claims to secure USAID grants meant for agricultural aid in developing countries.

In another case, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) agreed to a $6.9 million settlement under the False Claims Act for USAID-funded programming related to the Syrian civil war. The organization’s staff allegedly participated in a bid-rigging and kickback scheme involving a Turkish supply network.

A former NGO official was sentenced to 40 months in prison for bribing NGO officers in exchange for sensitive procurement information related to USAID-funded contracts. This Turkmenistan citizen allegedly orchestrated a bid-rigging scheme for five years, instructing employees to mislead law enforcement and destroy evidence.

Further investigations revealed that a former USAID deputy director from Maryland pleaded guilty to conspiracy, contract-steering fraud, and making false statements to law enforcement.

The revelations raise serious concerns about USAID’s oversight of taxpayer funds and its vulnerability to fraud and exploitation by terrorist organizations. Calls for stricter monitoring and accountability mechanisms have intensified, with experts urging a comprehensive review to prevent further misuse of U.S. foreign aid.

USAID Found Funding US-Desigated Terror Groups Which Attack India

A shocking revelation has emerged regarding the US Agency for International Development (USAID) channeling funds to a Pakistan-based terror outfit, Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF), despite the organization being designated a terrorist group by the US government. FIF is a known front for Hafiz Saeed’s Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the militant group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people, including six Americans.

According to recent disclosures, USAID continued to disburse funds to FIF through Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), a Michigan-based Muslim charity that has been accused of ties to jihadist groups operating in South Asia. Records indicate that in October 2021, USAID awarded $110,000 to HHRD under the Ocean Freight Reimbursement Program, despite longstanding allegations connecting HHRD to terror financiers and extremist organizations.

The issue has been flagged by US lawmakers. Michael T. McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, raised concerns in a 2023 letter to USAID Administrator Samantha Power. He pointed out that in November 2019, three Members of Congress had already urged the State Department to investigate HHRD’s alleged links to terrorist groups. Despite the ongoing scrutiny, USAID disbursed an additional $73,000 to the charity under the Biden administration in 2023.

The controversy over USAID’s funding surfaced amid former President Donald Trump’s efforts to curtail the agency’s operations. Trump, who has accused USAID of being part of the “deep state,” issued an executive order aimed at dismantling it. While this move could impact various international projects, some experts believe it might curb the misuse of American taxpayer money for funding groups that threaten India’s security.

“The FIF is a Pakistan-based organization that is closely connected to the banned terrorist group LeT and its humanitarian front Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD),” a US State Department document states, directly linking FIF to the Mumbai attacks.

Strategic affairs expert Amjad Taha criticized USAID’s handling of the issue, noting that despite exposure, the agency only launched an internal investigation.

“Did you know that USAID provided $110,000 in funding to jihadist groups in South Asia, including one that targeted India? When exposed, they merely launched an internal investigation. USAID funded HHRD, a Michigan-based Islamist charity with ties to jihadist groups, including Pakistan’s Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. This isn’t about shutting down USAID but about holding accountable the staff who made this happen. Which department are they in now? How are they serving Islamists? Which charity or school are they operating today?” Taha posted on X.

Meanwhile, LeT remains active in India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, where it has launched a proxy outfit, The Resistance Front (TRF), to continue its operations. TRF has been designated a terrorist organization by the Indian government.

The revelations have raised pressing questions about accountability within USAID and the broader implications of lax oversight on foreign aid. Observers stress the need for a comprehensive and transparent investigation to prevent further misuse of US funds in supporting global terrorism.

Dravidian Model: BJP Leader H Raja Booked For “Attempting To Cause Religious Conflict” During Save Thiruparankundram Temple Hill Protest, Police Had Earlier Allowed Islamists To Have Non-Veg Biryani At Foothill

Senior BJP leader H. Raja has been booked for allegedly making statements that could incite religious conflict. The case was registered at the Subramaniapuram police station following his speech at the protest organized by Hindu organizations in Madurai on 4 February 2025.

Earlier, following Hindu Munnani’s announcement of the protest on 4 February 2025, Madurai District Collector Sangeetha had imposed Section 144 for two days. Despite the prohibitory orders, BJP and Hindu Munnani sought permission to hold a protest under the banner “Let’s Save Thiruparankundram Hill.”

After repeated requests, they filed a petition in the Madurai bench of the High Court, which granted them permission to protest at 5 PM on the designated day in the Palanganatham area of Madurai.

Several Hindu Munnani leaders and BJP members were arrested as a preventive measure on 4 February 2025

Thousands of people participated in the demonstration, during which H. Raja allegedly made remarks that could disrupt communal harmony. Subsequently, a case against him under four sections of the law for “attempting to provoke religious tensions”.
