‘Farmer’ mobs go berserk at Delhi’s Red Fort, remove Indian tricolour and hoist Khalistani flag

Protestors in Delhi have gathered in large numbers near the Red Fort in Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier started the Republic Day celebrations and delivered his Republic Day address to the nation.

The protestors removed the Indian national flag and hoisted Sikh and Khalistani flags on the Red Fort.

Protestors got past the tight security that is usually at the Red Fort on the occasion of Republic Day, and even climbed on to the ramparts of the centuries old structure.

According to reports, the Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) had announced a reward of $250,000 for hoisting the Khalistani flag on the Red Fort on Republic Day.

Delhi is now engulfed with violence unleashed by the protestors. Several police personnel have been injured. There are reports of the protesting farmers trying to run over police personnel with tractors and assaulting a woman police officer.

Violence continues unabated in the national capital, as Delhi police proved to be helpless in stopping the rioting mobs from going on an unprovoked rampage.

In a video posted on Twitter by journalist Raj Shekhar Jha, protesting “farmers” wielding rods and sticks cornered a female police officer and assaulted her.

At ITO in central Delhi, rioters driving tractors deliberately attempted to run over police personnel.

Watch: ‘Farmers’ mob unleash Shaheenbagh 2.0 at Delhi on Republic Day: Police forces attacked with swords, public property vandalized

As the nation marks the 71st Republic Day, honouring the coming into effect of the Indian Constitution, ‘farmers’ squatting on the roads leading to Delhi have now unleashed violence by breaking barricades, vandalizing public property and attacking security forces.

A mob that managed to come near ITO in central Delhi, broke the barricades, attacked the police personnel and vandalized a police vehicle. They also vandalized a DTC bus in the same ITO area.

Disturbing visuals of ‘farmer’ mobs drawing swords and attacking policemen have also surfaced.

The same section of journalists who were instrumental in fomenting the Delhi riots are once again at it celebrating the anarchy on the streets.

Communist elements have also infiltrated these protests instigating the ‘farmer’ mobs to resort to violence. Communist and Maoist sympathizer, Kavita Krishnan, a member of the CPI-ML Polit Bureau can be seen jumping with joy and called the mobs unleashing anarchy a ‘celebration’.

Self-proclaimed activist Yogendra Yadav also took to the ground in the name of reporting from the site of protest.

Many have pointed out that opposition parties especially the Congress, Communists and AAP are behind the violent acts of the ‘farmer’ mobs.

News portals like Newslaundry, The Wire, The Quint, Scroll who have for long been glorifying the squatting of these farmer mobs have now pounced on to instigate them.

‘AP is different now, Christianity has spread like wildfire’, Christian Pastor Shalem Raju issues threat to political parties

After the coming of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the Christian evangelists in the state seems to have been given a free pass. One pastor named Shalem Raju, a Christian evangelist has issued a warning to political parties to not “mess with Christians who are now in lakhs of numbers”.

In a video which has gone viral, the pastor can be seen and heard saying that those who will attempt to challenge Christians will only bite the dust.

Pastor Raju in his speech dared the ex-CM Chandrababu Naidu or anyone from Telangana and said they must be very careful about what they say.

He said, “What many of them don’t know is that Christianity has now spread across the state just like water spreads under a mat (meaning very rapidly and widely). Let them not harbour silly thoughts because if they do, no matter which party they belong to they’ll simply have to bite the dust. They think that it is only Dalits who have accepted Christianity but they are mistaken. I myself belong to another varna and have accepted the path of Jesus. There are lakhs of people like me who have embraced Christianity. I have embraced the right path but many of them have still not accepted the true God and are still Hindus.”

The Pastor now wants to open the eyes of Hindus whom he calls ignorant as they continue to construct temples instead of accepting the true God as he has.

Pastor Shalem Raju is a Hindu convert to Christianity and runs Thandri Sannidhi Ministries (altar of father/Jesus Ministry).  Pastor Shalem Raju is not the only one to issue threats to Hindus. A recent video making the rounds on social media shows pastors threatening Hindu devotees and the temple priest for objecting to conducting Christian prayers within the temple premises in Andhra Pradesh.

Ancient temple remains unearthed along banks of Kollidam

A group of archeology enthusiasts have discovered the remains of an ancient temple believed to be of the Chozha era and dating back to the 12th century along the banks of Kollidam river.

These pillar remains were discovered during a search of the Mundanar temple located at Thirumanur in Ariyalur district. The temple is said to have existed on the Kollidam banks between present day Ariyalur and Thanjavur districts.

Retired officials belonging to the state archaeology department have deciphered the inscriptions on the pillars, which mention different irrigation canals and cultivable land parcels donated to the temple during the reign of Kulothunga Chozha I.

According to the retired archaeologists, the 6 feet high pillars were the gateway to the ancient temple of Sri Kailasam or Sri Rajendra Chozha Eeswaramudaiyar Temple located on the north bank of the Kollidam River. From the inscription, it was concluded that the town of Thirumanur was earlier known as Thiyagavalli Valanadu.

It also states that there was a ‘mandapam’ (hall) named Sankaranarayanan in front of the temple where village chiefs met and decided to cancel the tax on the Theppakulam, Nandavanam and land belonging to the temple. The temple had been maintained on the proceeds from these properties.

The retired archeologists also point out that they were intrigued by the detailing about the boundaries of the agricultural lands donated to the temple. Inscriptions mention that the irrigation canals that passed through the temple were called Madhurantakan Canal and Arinjayan Canal by the Chozha kings. After inspection, the inscriptions were taken from the temple and deposited in Thirumanur.

Biden reverses Trump administration’s ban on transgenders serving in US Military

The Biden administration is all set to roll back the ban on American transgenders from joining the US Armed Forces. The decision comes as Biden plans to turn his attention to equity issues that he believes continue to shadow nearly all aspects of American life. The new Defence Secretary General Austin, a retired army general, spoke of the need to rescind the ban during his Senate confirmation hearing last week. “If you’re fit and you’re qualified to serve and you can maintain the standards, you should be allowed to serve,” he said.

This ban had been announced by former POTUS Donald Trump during his first year of tenure via a ‘tweet’. He had put forward this ban citing “tremendous medical costs and disruption”. By virtue of it, while transgenders who had been serving the military prior to the ban were allowed to continue, new recruits were prevented.

A recent study put the number of transgender people in the military at the time between 1,320 and 6,630. Gender-change surgery is rare in the general population, and even so, its cost could range from $2.4 million and $8.4 million a year, an amount that would represent an “exceedingly small proportion” of total health care expenditures, the study found.

It is to be noted that the Trump administration has far and wide been critical about policy decisions corresponding to the LGBTQIA+ community, and has slammed down on several policies in this regard.

“Sasikala to be released on 27th”: TTV Dhinakaran

Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dhinakaran came out and stated on Monday that the former general secretary of the AIADMK is to be released on 27th.

“Just as we expected… Chinnamma (Sasikala) will be released (from prison) day after tomorrow, 27-01-2021,” Dhinakaran said in a tweet.

Sasikala was recently reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 and is said to be recovering. In addition to this, her sister-in-law J Ilavarasi Saturday also tested positive for the virus. She is likely to undergo treatment at the Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru, where Sasikala is admitted. Notably, Ilavarasi will reportedly have to spend some more days in the Bengaluru Central Prison. This has been based on the total number of days they have spent in the prison in the DA case, which will include their prison term in 2014, when Sasikala, along with former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, had spent 21 days in prison.

It is to be noted that the speculated date of V K Sasikala’s release clashes with the unveiling of the memorial of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam. This memorial is right behind the memorial of former chief minister MG Ramachandran (MGR), and is said to have a knowledge park and museum.

Galwan valley martyr Col. Santosh Babu to be posthumously conferred Mahavir Chakra on Republic Day

Colonel Santhosh Babu, who was martyred along with several other soldiers in the Galwan valley clash between India and China at the shared border, is to be posthumously conferred the Mahavir Chakra. The Mahavir Chakra is India’s second-highest military award for acts of conspicuous gallantry in the presence of the enemy.

“Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar deployed in Galwan Valley (Eastern Ladakh) during Operation Snow Leopard, was tasked to establish an observation post in face of the enemy. Organising and briefing his troops about the situation with a sound plan, he successfully executed the task. While holding the position his column faced stiff resistance from the adversary who attacked using lethal and sharp weapons along with heavy stone pelting from adjoining heights,” his citation for the award read.

Following his demise, he was laid down with state honours, and his wife was felicitated on the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Foundation Day. She was also appointed as the deputy collector in Telangana and was granted a house by the Telangana government.

“The state government has appointed Ms Santoshi, wife of Col Santosh Babu who was martyred in the recent clashes on the Indo-China Border, as Deputy Collector. Honourable Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday at Pragathi Bhavan handed over the appointment letter to Ms Santoshi,” an official release had said.

Journalists peddle fake news about Netaji’s portrait, Twitter does a clean-up job for them

On January 23, the President of India Ram Nath Kovind unveiled a portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Rashtrapati Bhavan to commemorate his 125th birth anniversary celebrations.

Soon, a section of journalists and several leaders from the opposition jumped in to say that the person in the portrait was that of a Bengali actor named Prosenjit Chatterjee who had played Bose in his biopic.

Trinamool Congress MP who is known for her loud speeches in Parliament, criticized about how the President donated ₹5 lakh to the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya but ‘honoured Netaji’ by unveiling a portrait of actor Prosenjit.

“God save India (because this government certainly can’t)” she wrote.

However, she later deleted this tweet.

Many other ‘journalists’ too took a dig at the portrait of the freedom fighter unveiled by the President. Sagarika Ghose, wife of another ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai called the portait as ‘fake Netaji’. Just like his wife, Rajdeep Sardesai too tweeted saying that the President could have put up an original portrait of Netaji adding that the one unveiled by President was the picture of actor Prosenjit.

Barkha Dutt, Swati Chaturvedi, and Roshini Singh who are known for being against the BJP too took at dig at the Hon’ble President of India.

However, their joy was short lived as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose, busted the lies peddled by these personalities.

Chandra Kumar Bose posted the picture original photograph of Netaji based on which portrait was drawn by Paresh Maity.

Following this, many on social media lashed out at these ‘journalists’ and leaders for doing unwarranted politics over Netaji. Some alleged that the misinformation was peddled by the Congress IT Cell.

That being the case, Twitter in its news section carried a headline stating “Portrait unveiled by President Ramnath Kovind is of Netaji, according to journalist

Many pointed out that the Twitter’s news section highlights did not even have a mention of the fake news peddled by the opposition leaders and the likes of Barkha Dutt, Sagarikha Ghose, Rajdeep, etc.

BJP Tamil Nadu Spokesperson SG Suryah pointed out that the headlines put out by Twitter was misleading and said that it was a section of the journalists who spread lies and not the other way around. “Your definition of this manufactured controversy is fallacious”, he said.
