Rahul Gandhi LIES AGAIN, claims PM Modi endorsed Trump for US President; Surjewala calls himself “Joe Biden”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who truly has special skills when it comes to lying and making nonsensical claims, today lied yet again. Addressing reporters at a press conference, the Wayanad MP made some false statements regarding PM Modi’s alleged endorsement of President Donald Trump in the 2020 US Presidential elections.

When a media-person asked the former Congress President for his comments on PM Modi’s silence on farmers but his comment on the recent US Capitol Hill siege, Rahul Gandhi held up Randeep Surjewala’s hand and said, “I remember Narendra Modi holding up Trump’s hand, saying Abki Baar Trump Sarkar.”

Surjewala immediately added, “I am not Trump, I am Joe Biden.”

Rahul Gandhi further elaborated, “The point is whether it is Trump or Joe Biden, as a Prime Minister of the country, you do not do something like this (endorsing Trump). By doing this, you are disrespecting the people of the United States. It is their choice and not your choice. So, it is a lack of understanding of fundamentals and now, of course, Trump has lost.”

Did PM Modi endorse Donald Trump ahead of the US Presidential Elections?

In fact, on the contrary, PM Modi had never endorsed any US presidential candidate or even expressed his private views on the goings-on in the 2020 US elections.

The claim made by Rahul Gandhi during the press conference is grossly misleading and inaccurate. It only aims to spread misinformation among the citizenry.

At the mega ‘Howdy Modi’ event held in Houston in Texas in September last year, Prime Minister Modi had recounted to the audience how President Trump’s 2016 US Presidential campaign team had come up with the slogan ‘Abki Baar Trump Sarkar’ to appeal to the Indian diaspora in the US. PM Modi was only referring to this campaign of the 2016, and not 2020, US Presidential elections.

Here is the full video of the speech, where PM Modi refers to the Trump campaign in the 2016 US Presidential elections.

PM Modi said, “We in India have connected well with President Trump. The words of candidate Trump, ‘Abki baar Trump sarkar’, rang loud and clear”. In October of 2016, as part of a campaign for the US Presidential elections, Donald Trump had said that the Indian and Hindu community in the US will have a ‘friend’ in the White House. Then, using Prime Minister Modi’s 2014 popular election slogan “Abki baar, Modi Sarkar”, Donald Trump had said, “Abki baar, Trump Sarkar” (This time, it will be a Trump government).

Rahul Gandhi also lies about China settling a village in India’s Arunachal Pradesh

The Congress leader, who is utterly failing to position himself as a credible opposition leader, also made false assertions regarding Chinese infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier today — taking a dig at the Prime Minister for supposedly allowing the construction of a village by China on the Indian land in Arunachal Pradesh — he tweeted, “Main desh nahin jhukne dunga (I won’t let the country bow down)”, a popular refrain used by PM Modi to reiterate his commitment on maintaining the nation’s interests.

However, Rahul Gandhi did not bother to verify the facts before attacking PM Modi. As pointed out by MoS Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju, China had built a village on the land that was occupied by them several decades ago when Jawaharlal Nehru was India’s PM. Kiren Rijiju hails from Arunachal Pradesh.

In 1959, Chinese forces at Longju overran an Indian Army post in Arunachal Pradesh along the Indo-China border. Since then, the region has been occupied by China. India has never been able to re-occupy the post and China has been steadily shoring up infrastructure in the region.

Junior Stalin peddles fake news on NPCIL recruitment

The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) had put out a recruitment notification for engaging Trade Apprentices on stipend basis for its Madras Atomic Power Station located at Kalpakkam near Chennai.

Applications were called for a total of 65 seats that includes fitter, welder, turner, welder, electrician, wireman, draughtsman, etc. with the last date to apply being January 11, 2021.

DMK chief M.K. Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also the party’s youth wing secretary, put out a tweet on January 18 saying that it was condemnable to hold the Trade Apprentice exam only in Mumbai. He claimed that the youth of Tamil Nadu did not apply for the job after coming to know that they had to make a trip to Mumbai twice.

He also went on to question the recruitment process stating that having a written test followed by an interview for a job that requires the qualification of ITI/Diploma raises doubts.

“The examination should be conducted in Tamil Nadu and the Central and State Governments should make sure that these jobs are made available to the youth of Tamil Nadu.”, he wrote in his tweet.

However these claims of the DMK’s Youth Wing Secretary are nothing but outright lies.

First things first, the claim that the exam happening only in Mumbai is completely false. There is no mention of exam happening in Mumbai. In fact there is no mention of “Mumbai” anywhere in the official notification.

The notification also clearly states that the preference will be given to applicants belonging to neighbouring villages.

Source: NPCIL official notification for engaging Trade Apprentices at MAPS, Kalpakkam

Last time for a similar apprenticeship program in Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, the written test was conducted in Chennai, Coimbatore, Kancheepuram and Madurai. Recruitments for Executive Trainees are done through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam that happens across several cities in India. For Grade A and B posts too, exams are held across India and not just in Mumbai.

Hence, Udhayanidhi Stalin’s claims are false and misleading.

Over 40% of cases filed under SC/ST Act in Rajasthan fake, data from 2020 shows

More than 40 per cent of the cases filed in Rajasthan in the year 2020 under The Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 were found to be fake, according to data available with the Rajasthan Police.

Rajasthan Police’s same report has also revealed that 39.55 per cent of all cases filed for atrocities against women were also found to be fake.

The details were announced in an annual press conference at the Rajasthan Police Headquarters at Jaipur on January 11.

According to the data available with the Rajasthan state government, under the SC/ST Act, cases involving individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) went up by 3 per cent while those involving members of Scheduled Tribes went up by 5 percent.

However, according to the state police records, as many as 42.17 per cent of all cases filed for atrocities against SCs and 40.04 per cent cases filed for atrocities against STs were found to be fake during investigations.

Police officials said that a total of 7,017 cases were registered for atrocities against SCs in 2020. Of these, the police filed a Final Report (adam vaku) in 2,959 cases — “FR (adam vaku)” is filed when during the investigation, it is found that the alleged offence did not occur. Similarly, a total of 1,878 cases were filed for atrocities against STs in 2020 and, of these, FR (adam vaku) was filed in 752 or 40.04 per cent cases.

DGP M L Lather told reporters that barring the two offences of murder and attempt to murder, cases lodged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in 2020 had decreased by 14.21 per cent, mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Regarding crime against women, there has been a drop of 16.49 per cent in registration of such cases — from 41,115 in 2019 to 34,368 cases in 2020. These figures include the numbers of  dowry death, rape, molestation, kidnapping, and so on. Of the total 34,368 cases filed in 2020, 13,594 or 39.55 per cent cases were found to be fake.

In 2020, a total of 1.93 lakh IPC cases were lodged across Rajasthan. 47,481 or 24.57 per cent of the total — nearly every fourth case — were found to be fake. An FIR was filed in 29,917 cases after the police could not find the given evidence or in absence of evidence.

Beware of Indian Police Foundation

Indian Police Foundation (IPF) a foreign-funded non-governmental organization (NGO) with direct and indirect links to Islamic terrorist organizations and Pakistan’s ISI has been sitting right under the nose of the Central government and infiltrating the Indian bureaucracy.

The entity with its name coming across as a legitimate government body has been registered under the name of Police Foundation & Institute India and has been allowed to function from the official headquarters of Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), a division of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

The NGO came to spotlight after the controversy erupted over ‘UPSC Jihad’, a feature story of Sudarshan News that sought to expose the candidates with links to Zakat Foundation of India, an organization linked to rabid Islamist preacher Zakir Naik. Instead of probing into the facts of the matter, the IPF shot the messenger by resorting to defending the Zakat Foundation of India. The IPF had tweeted against Sudarshan News’ story saying it amounted to ‘dangerous bigotry’ and ‘pure venom’.

Going down the rabbit hole concerning this, the facts that were uncovered were quite shocking. The NGO in question is actually one that has been started by several retired as well as some serving police officers and senior bureaucrats. It is worthy to mention here that this kind of fraudulent use of “Indian” by an NGO is an offence under Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950. It is legally a crime to use the term when it doesn’t actually pertain to a government-run body.

The IPF describes itself as ‘a multi-disciplinary think tank dedicated to work for police reform and the improvement of policing through research, capacity building and policy advocacy’. It was registered as a society with the name “Police Foundation & Institute India” under Registrar of Societies in 2014. Its Registration Number is S/ND/490/2014 and the registered address is at a flat in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

Furthermore, the IPF is inherently problematic in its existence because it is present on the pretext of posing as a government organization while actually being run by private entities seeking capitalistic gains and serious repercussions.

Questionable institutions and individuals involved: George Soros at play

The funding sources of IPF are opaque as a blackhole.  There is a stoic silence on income and expenditure. The statement filed by IPF in the Darpan portal notes that for the financial years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, expenses were met through contributions made by members. However, no information regarding its funding has been provided for subsequent years. There is a website called www.givingtuesdayindia.org which mentions an annual expenditure of ₹10.9 lakhs but doesn’t give details.

The IPF is associated with questionable individuals and institutions. Maja Daruwala, Director of Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) who is associated with another US-based advocacy organization called Namati, is also on the board of Open Society Justice Initiative, a brain child of George Soros. Namati had received USD 1.4 million from Foundation to Promote Open Society established by George Soros.

George Soros is known for his blatant declaration to work against nationalistic forces in India. In his speech at Davos in February 2020, he said:

Nationalism, far from being reversed, made further headway. The biggest and most frightening setback occurred in India where a democratically elected Narendra Modi is creating a Hindu nationalist state, imposing punitive measures on Kashmir, a semi-autonomous Muslim region, and threatening to deprive millions of Muslims of their citizenship.

Soros has publicly pledged a billion dollars to a university to contain and sabotage nationalism across the world. He had used his clout with the Democratic Party in the US to expand into India through ‘civil societies’ (read problematic NGOs), academicians, activists, leftists, etc.

CHRI is another foreign-funded NGO spearheading ‘police reforms’ and can be seen organizing events in association with IPF. The Chief Functionary of CHRI is Retired IAS officer and former Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah. He is known to have cozy relations with Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and other separatist groups. The CHRI received around ₹53 crores from abroad during 2015-19 period, the most notable being from Ford Foundation and George Soros’ Open Society Foundation. Maju Daruwala along with likes of Romila Thapar had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to release the Maoists accused on inciting violence in the Elgar Parishad case.

Ford Foundation is linked to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) which have been documented in countless articles and research papers.

In a 2001 article titled ‘The Ford Foundation and the CIA’, James Petras, a Bartle Professor (Emeritus) of Sociology at Binghampton University, New York, wrote:

The CIA uses philanthropic foundations as the most effective conduit to channel large sums of money to Agency projects without alerting the recipients to their source. From the early 1950s to the present the CIA’s intrusion into the foundation field was and is huge. A US Congressional investigation in 1976 revealed  that nearly 50% of the 700 grants in the field of international activities by the principal foundations were funded by the CIA (Who Paid the Piper? The CIA and the Cultural Cold War, Frances Stonor Saunders, Granta Books, 1999, pp. 134-135).” .

The CIA considers foundations such as Ford “The best and most plausible kind of funding cover” (Ibid, p. 135). The collaboration of respectable and prestigious foundations, according to one former CIA operative, allowed the Agency to fund “a seemingly limitless range of covert action programs affecting youth groups, labor   unions, universities, publishing houses and other private institutions” (p. 135). The latter included “human rights” groups beginning in the 1950s to the present. One of the most important “private foundations” collaborating with the CIA over a significant span of time in major projects in the cultural Cold War is the Ford Foundation. …

The Ford Foundation was also involved in spinning the narrative around the Gujarat Riots that happened in 2002 through its coterie of NGOs, activists and academicians.

This NGO has many serving and retired bureaucrats in leadership positions including from the Comptroller and Auditor General Department, Central Vigilance Commission, paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, criminal investigation agencies and leaderships of state law enforcement agencies. It also has roped in few big names from the corporate sector and industry, notable among them being Deepak Parekh, Raghav Raman. All these facts raise serious questions about its relationship to the BPR&D and the home ministry.

In addition to these three, several IPF individuals have been working closely with the above to ensure that there is a widespread propagation of the fake narrative regarding “Hindu Terror”. This includes the once famed cop, Julio Ribeiro, G K Pillai, a member of the IPF board, Prakash Singh, Jacob Punoose, and so on.

Involvement of the Zakir Naik’s Zakat Foundation

It is important to note that the kingpins of this particular scam are the ones that hold top positions in the IPF. The Zakat Foundation of India plus the antecedents of all the ZFI funded parties have trained candidates who are being selected by means of influence by the members of the IPF into top positions like IPS and IAS.

This foundation’s involvement is subject to have serious consequences because it has direct as well as indirect links to ISI of Pakistan and several globally networked terrorist organizations, including Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation and Lashkar-E-Taiba.

The Commune has far and wide exposed the hypocrisy and the anti-Hindu cries that have been conveniently launched by Muslim preacher Zakir Naik. Thanks to the IPF, he is now giving trained Muslims with secret ties to the ISS a backdoor entry into top positions in the country’s police force. This, in addition to posing a national security threat, also causes a severe degradation of the Freedom of Speech that the media has in this country. The various attacks on journalists in various parts of the country over the last decade is testament to their infiltration into the country’s defence workings and how deep-rooted the damage is. Surprisingly enough, several IPS officers, both serving and retired—connected with the Indian Police Foundation, have jumped in to defend Zakat Foundation of India and attacked the whistle blowers.

The recent news program conducted by Sudarshan News saw the presence of several eminent personalities from the journalism industry, that repeatedly emphasized need for the government to take appropriate action on this issue because of Zakat Foundation of India’s terror links and its general orientation of coming out in support of terrorists of J&K and elsewhere, including those involved in attack on the Indian Parliament. What is not so shocking is that within a few episodes of its airing, a stay order was granted by the Supreme Court to the applicants who belonged to the IPF against the airing of this program.

It is high time that the Union Home Ministry orders a full fledged investigation into the finances and the members associated with the organization seems to be in bed with radical Islamists and other people working against India.

“Swamiye Sharanam Ayyappa”, the war cry of an Indian Army missile regiment

The 73rd Indian Army Day was observed across the nation on January 15 this year. The day marks Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa’s (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Fransis Bucher , the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.

A parade was held to mark the occasion at the Cariappa Parade ground in Delhi cantonment.

Among others, the parade also showcased the 861 Missile Regiment and its BrahMos missile systems. In the parade, the detachment of the regiment was commanded by Captain Quamrul Zaman. Interestingly, the war-cry of the regiment is “Swamiye Sharanam Ayyappa!”

It is fitting that a missile regiment’s war-cry calls out to a deity whose popular iconography depicts him riding atop a tiger holding a bow and arrow.

The regiment’s war-cry resonates close to the hearts of the ārādhaka~s of the deity Ayyappa, whose most prominent shine is at Sabarimala, nestled in the hills of the Pathanamthitta of Kerala. The temple is situated on a hilltop amidst eighteen hills at an altitude of 1260 m (4,133 ft) above sea level, and is surrounded by mountains and dense forests. The dense forest, part of the Periyar Tiger Reserve (named after the Periyar river), around the temple is known as Poongavanam. Temples exist in each of the hills surrounding Sabarimala. Sabarimala is one of the largest annual pilgrimage sites in the world with an estimate of over 40 to 50 million devotees visiting every year. Sabarimala has of course been in the news for the past few years.

Coming to the 861 Missile Regiment, it was raised as the 863 Light Battery by amalgamating a nucleus of 121 (Independent) Heavy Mortar Battery (Congo) and a battery of 35 Heavy Mortar Regiment on 20 June 1963. Lieutenant Colonel Sewa Ram was the first Commanding Officer. 86 Light Regiment was eventually formed with three batteries – 121 Heavy Mortar Battery, 862 Light Battery and 863 Light Battery. This eventually evolved to become the 861 Missile Regiment.

The Regiment provided fire-power to 28 Infantry Brigade of 10 Infantry Division in the Battle of Chamb in the India-Pakistan War of 1971. The devastating shelling by the Regiment on 3 and 4 December 1971 helped beat back the enemy’s attack, and so did the shelling on 6 and 7 December 1971. The Regiment was awarded the battle honours “Laleali” & “Picquet 707”. The Regiment has also taken part in Operation Meghdoot, Operation Vijay and Operation Parakram.

The BrahMos missile system was developed in a joint venture between the Russian Federation’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya and India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), who together have formed BrahMos Aerospace. The missile system is based on the Russian P-800 Oniks cruise missile and other similar sea-skimming Russian cruise missile technology. The name BrahMos is a portmanteau of the names of two rivers, the Brahmaputra river of India and the Moskva river of Russia.

During the parade, the Indian Army also carried out a live demonstration of Drone Swarming capability using 75 indigenously designed and developed drones. The drones executed an array of Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled simulated offensive missions and close support tasks.

Andhra Pradesh: Drunk man caught on camera vandalising Hindu temple

Pictured: A scene from the CCTV footage where the accused is seen touching the trident

An incident of a man, apparently in an inebriated state, touching and inadvertently destroying the trishul (trident) of a deity at a temple in Andhra Pradesh has come to light. The incident took place in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district on January 9. The entire episode was recorded on the CCTV camera installed near the temple as part of the state government’s recent initiative against the wide-ranging spate of attacks on Hindu temples.

On Monday, the East Godavari district police arrested the man in the footage for damaging the tridents at the Sri Nookalamma Temple in Kakinada’s Kondayyapalem. The accused, identified as Vanumu Lakshmana Rao (39), is a resident of Kondayyapalem in Kakinada. He is a butcher and a daily-wage labourer by profession.

The police shared footage of Rao in an inebriated state dancing and talking to the goddess’ idols and touching the trident. In another footage captured by a CCTV camera from the left side, Rao raised his hand and pushed the idol’s trident, resulting in damage to the trident’s top part. According to the police, he has confessed to having committed the offence after a thorough interrogation.

The police said that on the night of the incident Rao borrowed his friend’s bicycle and consumed alcohol. He then went to the temple, broke the tridents and went away. In the CCTV footage released by the police, the bicycle can be seen lying on the ground, while Rao is seen dancing, talking and breaking the tridents.

“About 6 am on January 10, the priest of the temple noticed that the two tridents outside the temple were partly broken,” said a police official. The cement idols standing on either side of the Nookalamma temple’s entry door used to hold two tridents. Following a complaint by Karri Gangaraju, the temple’s committee president on January 10, the police arrested Rao on Monday. He was charged under sections 447 (criminal trespass), 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class) and 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Pastor Kirbyjon H. Caldwell, spiritual advisor to Presidents Bush and Obama sentenced to six years for fraud

Former spiritual advisor for U.S. presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, pastor Kirbyjon H. Caldwell who runs the Texas megachurch has been sentenced to six years in prison for defrauding investors of millions of dollars.

Caldwell who has a very large following and runs a very successful ministry was sentenced to six years in federal prison on Jan 13 by US District Judge S. Maurice Hicks for his role in the multi-million dollar scheme that duped several victims who had invested in nearly $3.5 million in Chinese bonds.

Alexander C. Van Hook, the acting United States attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, said in a statement, “The defendants, in this case, abused the trust that the victims had placed in them,”.

Mr Caldwell, Mr Van Hook added, “used his status as the pastor of a megachurch to help convince the many victim investors that they were making a legitimate investment but instead he took their hard-earned money from them and used it for his own personal gain.”

Caldwell was formerly associated as the Senior Pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, a mega-church in his native Houston, Texas, which has around 14,000 members,

According to federal prosecutors, Caldwell used his clout as a pastor along with his partner Gregory Alam Smith and leveraged it to persuade people to invest about $3.5 million in historical Chinese bonds.

However, the bonds were reportedly issued by the former Republic of China under Chiang Kai Shek that lost power to the communist government in 1949 headed by Mao Zedong and the bonds aren’t recognized by China’s current government hence it has no investment value.

According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, these bonds are collectables with no value outside the memorabilia market, prosecutors said.

Between 2013 and 2014, they both made $3.5 million from the scheme and the profits were divided between Caldwell, Smith, and others.

Caldwell used about $900,000 that he had received from the scheme to maintain his rich lifestyle and pay down credit card bills and mortgages, according to the Justice Department. However, investors were never told of the true nature of the bonds

Caldwell in 2008 had endorsed Barack Obama’s presidential run and was part of a group of Christian pastors who would pray with him. Under Obama administration, Cladwell who is 67 years old got a spot in the healthy fatherhood and family task force set up by Obama.

Caldwell was considered by many in Washington to be highly influential as he was one of the key leaders of a predominantly African-American congregation.

Which is why he got an opportunity to speak at the 2000 Republican National Convention and, delivered the benediction at Bush’s 2005 inauguration. Also, in a rare opportunity, officiated Bush’ daughter Jenna’s wedding in 2008.

In the last few years, many influential evangelical pastors have come under federal scrutiny for alleged fraud. Pastors like  Kenneth Copeland who justified is jet-setting lifestyle which he attributed to spreading the word of god and his son Jesus Christ. According to Copeland, the private jet allows him to travel all over the country faster.

Jesse Duplantis who is also a high-flying pastor had once said that “God told him he needs a private jet – specifically, a Falcon 7X, capable of carrying 12 to 16 passengers at speeds up to 700 mph and I really believe that preachers ought to … have every available outlet to get this Gospel preached to the world.”

Most of the time these Christian preachers would make outlandish statements like the one made by Gloria Copeland, wife of Kenneth Copeland who said, “Children do not need a flu shot because Jesus had already “bore our sickness.”We don’t have a flu season,” she said. “And don’t receive it when somebody’s threatening you with ‘Everybody’s getting the flu.’ We’ve already had our shot. He bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases.”

Fact is that whenever these evangelical preachers splurged cash to buy expensive jewellery, sports car or a private jet, they attribute it as the will of God.

Shocking: Christian convert paints cross on walls of Amman Temple in Tiruppatur

In a shocking incident, an Amman temple in Tirupattur district was found vandalized with Christian cross symbol painted all over the walls of the temple in an attempt to convert it into a Church.

The incident happened at Ellappalli village in Naatrampalli Taluk of Tiruppatur district. According to the complaint registered by the villagers with the Naatrampalli police, the temple is said to be quite old and worshipped by 250 families of the area as per Hindu traditions.

The complaint states that one Baskar (son of Mahendran and Baby) had earlier broken the idols and the hundi for which a complaint was registered with the police on 31st July 2020 and 11th November 2020.

Baskar on the night of 14th January (Pongal day) had turned off the street lights and painted the cross on the walls of the temple to convert it to a Church. He had also painted the cross on electric poles and on the bridge near the temple.

The complaint further states that when the villagers had confronted Baskar on the matter, he had abused them using vulgar words and said that they can’t do anything to him as he is backed by five people. He had told them that he did the act upon the incitement of those five 5 people and that nothing can be done to them.

The villagers have asked the police to take severe action against the perpetrators for trying to incite religious clash.

TN Advocate General grants consent to initiate contempt of court proceedings against DMK MP R.S. Bharathi

Advocate General of Tamil Nadu Government has given his consent to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Rajya Sabha DMK MP R.S. Bharathi for his derogatory remarks against Dalit judges of the court.

In his submission, Advocate General Vijay Narayan stated that those interested in maintaining high standards of fearless, impartial and unbending justice should have to stand up to any scheme and design which has the tendency to damage the confidence in the judicial system and demoralizes the judges of the highest courts through malicious attacks. He also stated that if such attacks are not dealt with appropriately, it may affect the national honour and prestige.

“Fearless and impartial courts of justice are the bulwark of a healthy democracy and the confidence in them cannot be permitted to be impaired by malicious attacks upon them.”, the Advocate General stated.

Citing Justice Krishna Iyer’s remarks in the Re: S. Mulgaokar case, he said “if the Court considers the attack on judge or judges scurrilous, offensive, intimidatory or malicious beyond condonable limits, the strong arm of the law must in the name of public interest and public justice strike a blow on him who challenges the supremacy of rule of law by fouling its source and stream.”

Stating that prima facie the words uttered by R.S. Bharathi scandalizes the court, the Advocate General gave his consent to proceed with contempt of court proceedings against the DMK MP.

The case pertains to the derogatory remarks made by R.S. Bharathi about Dalit judges. Speaking at an event in the DMK youth wing headquarters, in February last year, the DMK MP had said it was due to the alms (picchai) given by the Dravidian Movement that persons from SC community became judges.

He said “If Tamil Nadu remains the best state, it is because of the Dravidian movement. No Harijan has become a judge of the High Court in Madhya Pradesh. After Karunanidhi became Chief Minister A Varadarajan was appointed as HC judge. Seven or eight others from Adi Dravidar community went on to become judges after that. It is the alms (picchai) given by the Dravidian Movement”.

This had led to an uproar with demands for the DMK MP’s arrest under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

The Madras High Court in June told DMK’s Rajya Sabha MP and Organizing Secretary RS Bharathi that he should make responsible statements considering befitting of the position he holds. The court made the observation while reserving orders on the plea moved by CCB challenging RS Bharathi’s bail order granted by a subordinated court.
