Thugs hired by DMK panchayat chairman assault AIADMK cadres for stopping illegal sand mining in Kumbakonam

The incident in which ADMK cadres were violently assaulted by DMK cadres for reportedly attempting to stop illegal sand mining has stirred outrage in Kumbakonam.

The alleged incident occurred in Kariyapatticheri, Thiruvidaimaruthur village, in Kumbakonam district, where the DMK panchayat chairman Gunasekharan and his men were involved in illegal sand mining.

The illegal sand mining by the DMK leader was stopped after ADMK cadres of that area made a compliant to the district collector. Enraged by the stopping of illegal sand mining, DMK panchayat chairman Gunasekharan and his brother Kannan dispatched hitmen to an ADMK cadre’s home and office, who filed a complaint with the collector and smashed all of his possessions.

ADMK cadre Soundararajan and his friend Natarajan were seriously hurt in the incident, and Natarajan was taken to the Kumbakonam government hospital. Despite filing an official complaint, Soundararajan and Natarajan allege that the police are not taking action against the DMK chairman. People in the area were enraged by the DMK cadres’ anarchic behaviour.

ISRO to build ground station in Vietnam under Look East policy to help ASEAN countries

The Modi government’s “Look East” policy received a boost as India is building a Mega Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Ground Station in Vietnam for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.

India which has been supplying the Covid-19 vaccine to neighboring countries is now building space cooperation among the ASEAN countries. Work has started on a ground station to be established in Vietnam’s payload data reception, processing, and dissemination facility.

This is now seen as space diplomacy as India aims to provide a reliable operational space-based system for remote sensing over the ASEAN countries like Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.

The proposed facility for the ground station would be built on four hectares of land at My Phuoc 3 industrial park, in Binh Doung province of Vietnam and this facility will have a 11m antenna installed by ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network(ISTRAC).

The estimated cost for the project is 86 billion Vietnamese dollars and work will be completed in 18 months.

This facility once finished will be very helpful for ISRO which already has ground stations in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mauritius, Sriharikota, Port Blair, Thiruvananthapuram, Brunei, Biak.

The idea of a ground station in Vietnam was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015 at the India ASEAN meeting at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar and in the following year, India told the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) its vision of the free and open Indo-Pacific region.

This particular initiative has been called India’s space diplomacy wherein India conducts foreign affairs and advances its national interests by joining like-minded countries in the ASEAN region and counter global powers who are exercising their hegemony.

India has proposed to support ASEAN countries to receive the data from RESOURCESAT 2 and OCEANSAT 2 that will be very helpful for countries that are in the South China Sea region.

Later when the villagers and her family members spoke to the minor she told them about her ordeal with the pastor which led her mother to approach the police with a complaint against the pastor.

Sarpavaram circle inspector B Rajasekhar said: “The Kakinada-based pastor, identified as Alavala Sudhakar, attended a function in the city on June 22. While the function was in progress, Mr Sudhakar reportedly sexually abused the victim in a nearby thatched house.”

Based on a complaint filed by Lok Sabha MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary to take action against Andhra Pradesh IPS officer PV Sunil Kumar who had indulged in hate speech against Hindus and for peddling divisive communal/caste based politics through his organization ‘Ambedkar India Mission’.

The IPS officer who is the Additional Director General of Police, (Crime Investigation Department) in Andhra Pradesh Government has been accused of abusing his position by running a private organization named in violation of Section 3 of The Police Forces (Restriction of Rights) Act, 1966.

He is also accused of provoking people of Scheduled Caste by making hateful statements against Hindu religion, scriptures and Gods on social media platforms.

On 26th November 2020, on the occasion of India’s Constitution Day, he appeared on Facebook live through the official page of “Ambedkar’s India Mission” and abused Hindu Religion and Hindu Sacred scriptures like Vedas and Puranas.

CM Stalin goofs up, writes to IT Minister instead of I&B Minister regarding Cinematograph Act amendment

In a hilarious goof up Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote a letter to the Union Minister of Information Technology Ravishankar Prasad regarding the amendments to the Cinematograph Act instead of writing to the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had sought public suggestions for the Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which will penalise film piracy with a jail term and fine, introduce age-based certification, and empower the Central government to order recertification of an already certified film following receipt of complaints.

The amendment of sub-section (1) of section 6 regarding ‘Revisional powers of the Central Government’ has attracted criticism from filmmakers. It says that if the Central Government receives complaints against a film that allude to violation of Section 5B(1) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, then it may ask the Chairman of the Board to re-examine the film.

Many in the Tamil film industry sympathetic to the ruling DMK regime have been carrying out a misinformed propaganda against the amendments which seeks to offer intellectual property protection as well as curb film piracy.

The press release issued by the Tamil Nadu Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) stated that ‘Chief Minister Stalin has written to ‘Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting’ Ravishankar Prasad (who is the IT Minister and not I&B Minister) to drop the amendments to the Cinematograph Act as it reduces the powers of the state government and against freedom of speech and expression.

After the goof up came to light, the DIPR retracted the press release.

BJP Tamil Nadu General Secretary K.T. Raghavan took a jibe at CM Stalin saying that he had written to the Information Technology Minister instead of Information & Broadcasting Minister and advised him to have good advisors.

BJP Tamil Nadu spokesperson asked if incompetent DMK cadres were running the government.

PM Modi wishes Tibetan freedom fighter and spiritual leader Dalai Lama on his 86th birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (6 July) wished Tibetan freedom fighter and spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama on his 86th birthday.

This direct interaction between Modi and the Tibetan leader in exile comes when the relation between India and China is tense after the border clash between the armies in the Galwan Valley in June last year that left 20 Indian soldiers dead and an unspecified number of dead Chinese soldiers.

PM Modi used Twitter to inform the public of the telephonic conversation that he had with Dalai Lama.

“Spoke on phone to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to convey greetings on his 86th birthday,” PM Modi said.

“We wish him a long and healthy life,” PM Modi added.

Dolma Tsering, a member of Tibetan parliament praised the move by the Indian PM and said, “This is a positive move from PM Modi on wishing happy birthday to His Holiness (Dalai Lama). PM Modi wants to send message that India is no longer going to be very cautious talking about Tibet. It sends a very strong message to China: Dolma Tsering, member of Tibetan parliament.”

Lobsang Wangyal, a Tibetan activist, said, “PM Modi calling the Dalai Lama to wish him on his birthday is a great gesture, despite the border issue between India and China. This is a sign of India showing its strength. It is a very strong message to China.”

Earlier today, in a message on his 86th birthday, Dalai Lama said, “Since I became a refugee and now settled in India, I have taken full advantage of India’s freedom and religious harmony. I want to assure you that for the rest of my life I am committed to reviving ancient Indian knowledge,”.

“I really appreciate the Indian concept of secular values, not dependent on religion, such as honesty, karuna (compassion) and ahimsa (non-violence),” he added.

Minor girl raped in Communist state of Kerala, suspect is a DYFI worker, the youth wing of CPI (M)

Another grizzly act of rape involving a minor has been reported from the Communist state of Kerala after police on Monday (July 5) arrested yet another member of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) which is the youth wing of the ruling CPI(M).

As per reports, Arjun (22) a worker of the Communist party and resident of the Idukki district, repeatedly sexually abused the girl for three years before raping and killing her.

The body of the minor girl was found hanging in a room at her parents’ quarters. Comrade Arjun who had reportedly been doing a lot of social work in his region and as a volunteer during the pandemic is now under bars for his monstrous act.

A police officer said, “The incident, which occurred on June 30, was reported as an accidental death. We were told that a shawl accidentally got tied around her neck while she was playing. The parents were away at work. However, the postmortem revealed that the girl had been subjected to sexual abuse over a long period, which made police look into the murder angle.”

Quoting the youth, the police officer said, “The girl fell unconscious during the assault and the assailant feared she may have died. Subsequently, he hanged her in the room using her shawl.”

The rape and murder of this minor girl by this communist took place on June 30 when the accused sneaked into the house of the minor. It has also been reported that comrade Arjun later panicked after the incident and spread the rumour of the minor death as accidental.

However, his lies were busted after an autopsy report conclusively proved that the alleged rapist and murder was a longtime tormentor of this minor girl and further investigation led to the arrest of four suspects.

Recently the Kerala Police booked two CPM leaders PP Baburaj and TP Lijeesh for sexually assaulting and blackmailing a female party worker and more and more instances of sexual abuse and sexual harassment are emerging in the state.
