Islamic outfits vandalize hill temple in Tirunelveli

Attempts by Islamic organizations to occupy the famous Aththri Hills in Alvarkurichi in Tirunelveli have shocked devotees, who have demanded that the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department intervene immediately to curb the encroachment.

The Department of Hindu Religious Affairs oversees the Arulmigu Anusuyadevi Sameda Atri Parameswar temple and Gorakkar temple on Aththri Hill in Tirunelveli. The Aththri Ganga Theertham, which is similar to the Ganges, is in a perennial river and has a rare white turtle. Even in the summer, the river Kadanaa, which flows through this hill, is perennially flowing.

It has been reported that Islamic organizations are currently occupying this spiritual mountain, and that certain persons who visit the hill with the forest department’s permission are sketching Islamic symbols in green at the site where the Siddhars are said to have lived.

According to the devotees, the rocks of the mountain temple are inscribed with the words “Allah,” an Islamic symbol of the crescent moon, and the number 786, which is used by Muslims. In the Pudukkottai district, all the idols in a Chola temple were recently beheaded, while in the Ranipettai district, Amman statues were disfigured and semen ejaculated over the idols in the historic Panchalingeswarar temple, which created a stir in those areas. Devotees and the general public have urged the government to take proper measures to conserve the historic temples in the hills, which have long been worshipped by Hindus.

60 Hindus in Sindh, Pakistan convert to Islam to escape being perpetual bonded labourers to wealthy Muslim landlords

In the Islamic State of Pakistan, 60 impoverished Hindus belonging to the Dalit community from the Sindh province of Pakistan converted to Islam so that they could get their freedom and debts waived off.

As per reports, all the Hindus who live in constant fear were forced to embrace Islam as they worked as bonded labourers for wealthy Muslim landlords and in return were assured of their freedom from molestation and debt waivers, if they embraced Islam.

A 58-second video uploaded by Abdul Rauf Nizamani, the chairman of the Municipal Committee in Matli in Badin district of Pakistan has now gone viral.

In that video, one can see and hear a Muslim cleric preaching a group of Hindus about Islam and reciting the “kalma” or the Islamic oath of allegiance.

Rauf has also posted a comment, which reads “Alhamdulilah, aj mere niggrain me 60 log musalman hu hai ink lie due karen (Alhamdulilah, today 60 people have embraced Islam under my supervision, please pray for them).

However, the Pakistani Hindu Member National Assembly (MNA) doesn’t see anything being ‘forced’ in the conversion of these sixty Hindus.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s MNA and Pakistan Hindu Council’s Patron-in-chief, Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, said that forced conversion was a different issue.

“I describe forced conversion as when a minor girl is abducted and presented in a madrassa and later told that the girl has converted to Islam and you have no link with her,” he said.

He further added that it was possible that the Hindus could have been impressed with the teachings of Islam or that they may have been greedy for money.

Read shocking testimony of a teenager who was married off to her own abuser in an Islamic marriage in UK

Love Jihad Bihar

A 15-year-old girl who was groomed into having sex by her abuser, was married off to the same person in an Islamic marriage. One of the social workers allegedly even attended the wedding ceremony, reports dailymail.

The wedding took place even though the underage teenager was not a Muslim and the social worker meant to protect her did not prevent her marriage. What is even more shocking is that the girl was allowed to stay with the parents of her ‘husband’ tasked with fostering them and in whose care she became pregnant.

The name of the victim was withheld and was referred to as ‘Anna’ in the report. She was “left in a state of ‘domestic slavery”, and too scared to leave the controlling relationship as she feared getting killed under the guise of honour killing, she told the report’s authors.

An independent report has concluded that some youngsters in Bradford still remain unprotected’ from sexual exploitation.

Those who prepared the report have described it as making “difficult and, at times, distressing reading” two years after nine men of Pakistani heritage were jailed for more than 57 years over the sexual exploitation of girls who had been in Bradford Council’s care.

The victim who is now married to one of her abusers had disclosed details of sexual abuse, including rapes to a confidential support service for girls involved in prostitution, but nothing was passed on to police or social workers. Later the underage girl had converted to Islam and married her older Asian ‘boyfriend’ in a Sharia law ceremony.

The report said also states that there appears to be collusion between the abuser and social worker who allegedly attended the ceremony and assessed that her marriage was likely to reduce the risks incurred.

In her interview, Anna said that “At 14 years old I was engaged to be married, taking on the role of an Islamic wife fulfilling the needs of my husband and the extended family somewhat like a maid”.

‘We had no similarities in race, religion or culture and I continued to be subject to domestic violence and was subject to a coercive, controlling sexual relationship with a known perpetrator. I was frightened to leave, in fear of an honour-based killing.”, she was quoted saying.

The report concluded, “It is hard to understand how this decision can have been made and it resulted in Anna being entirely reliant on her abuser and his family,”.

It is clear that the state failed in its duty and instead of protecting her from harm, they left her at greater risk and made her entirely dependent on them (her abusers) and that led to ‘domestic slavery’ and sexual abuse by dozens of adult males, the report adds.

Here is Anna’s full testimony:

Numerous social services assessments were carried out throughout my very early years from the authorities with a “being at risk’’ noted but nothing ever acted on, and I was failed for more than two decades. My needs as a child were not met my education was nonexistent throughout my teenage years. From around 12 years old it was apparent to social services I was absconding from home and was being trafficked all over west Yorkshire. I was at great harm however they allowed me to continually be subject to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse and psychological abuse and harm. Safeguarding risk assessments were carried out and acknowledged that I was being sexually abused by grooming on a large scale.

Recommendations were put forward at various strategy meetings to remove myself as I was at escalated risk from sexual perpetrators and to be place into a secure unit or foster carers away from the area, but recommendations were ignored time and time again. I was regularly missing for numerous weeks at a time with no sightings, and no contact from myself. Social services and the police did nothing to locate me this could have ended in a homicide case as I was suffering from severe domestic violence. I was codependent from being 13 I was psychologically suffering throughout my teenage years, but no intervention was offered. I was a minor, unstable as well as unable, as any child is to make the correct choices which were life changing decisions these have had a major impact on my life.

I was 15, but the authorities thought it was in the best interest and to minimise the severity of my absconding and placed me in a foster care placement while being fully aware with the parents of my abuser. We had no similarities in race, religion or culture and I continued be subject to domestic violence and was subject to a coercive controlling sexual relationship with a known perpetrator. I was frightened to leave, in fear of an honour-based killing.

At 14 years old I was engaged to be married, taking on the role of an Islamic wife fulfilling the needs of my husband and the extended family somewhat like a maid. I was identified as a vulnerable and naïve child converting to Islam wasn’t a case of wanting to embrace Islam for my own individual choices. I was manipulated and controlled while I was on a local authority care order the authorities should have protected me however they allowed abuse to occur for numerous years. Resulting in living a life of dual identity despite only being 15. The local authorities allowed and witnessed a sharia law Nikah wedding to take place allowing a man to carry out sexual activity on a child to occur on a daily basis which is illegal.

If only the authorities had done what was recommend for me, the secure unit or accommodation. I wouldn’t have been subject to sexually and physical abuse for many years. And because I wasn’t looked after as a child should have been under a local authority care order. Contact arrangements with parents was minimal bonds were damaged with close family which can now never be rectified.

I’m left with my adult years to educate and work on my mental health state of mind and coming to terms with the realisation I will always be in recovery. I’m not in control of my anxiety and only feel at ease with my nerves, when I’m in another county living a life that nobody knows who I am or what I’ve been subject too. Throughout my late adult years, I’ve had a significant number of disturbing dysfunctional relationships as I’ve not healed as a victim of child sexual exploitation and physical abuse. I’ve found courage and been courageous in coming forward and I sincerely hope other victims will speak out about their child sexual abuse.

TN BJP President Annamalai calls out pseudo social justice of DMK

BJP Tamil Nadu president Annamalai lashed out at Dravidian parties for their pseudo-social justice, adding that it was the BJP that provided political representation to L Murugan and aided the advancement of his community and that this would not happen in the DMK.

BJP state president Annamalai paid floral tributes to Abdul Kalam’s portrait at the BJP headquarters in Thiyagaraya Nagar, Chennai, on the occasion of Abdul Kalam Memorial Day. Later, he told reporters that Abdul Kalam was a source of pride for Tamil Nadu and the country and that the DMK had prevented him from becoming president for the second time. He said that since the ADMK and the BJP are still in an alliance, AIADMK coordinators and co-coordinators meeting the Prime Minister is normal and that the allegation of BJP interference in the ADMK’s inter-party affairs is baseless.

He also stated that the vigilance raid on the house of former Minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar was political vengeance, which he will pursue in court. He explained that BJP will take note of changes that have to be made to draft the Indian Marine Fisheries bill to address the concerns of Tamil Nadu fishermen.

He claimed that the DMK speaks pseudo social justice, and that it was the BJP that gave L Murugan political representation and helped improve his community. He went on to say that this would not happen in the DMK and that their cadres would not be allowed to grow.

Madras HC expunges remarks made by single judge on Actor Vijay’s Rolls Royce tax case, asks him to pay tax

Actor Vijay had filed a petition seeking exemption from paying entry tax on his imported luxury car, the Rolls Royce Ghost, from England in 2012, which cost around ₹ 1.2 crore.

The bench of Justice SM Subramaniam had passed critical remarks against the actor and imposed on him a fine of ₹ 1 lakh. “A person paying tax punctually and promptly is to be considered a real hero,” the judge had declared. “These actors portray themselves as champions of social justice. Their movies are against corrupt activities in the society. But, they are evading tax and acting in a manner, which is not in consonance with the provisions of the Statutes.”

He then went on to order Vijay to pay entry tax as demanded, within two weeks of the actor receiving a copy of his order. The ₹ 1 lakh fine, he said, must be paid to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s COVID-19 Public Relief Fund – also within two weeks.

In a fresh petition Vijay challenged the fine and wanted remarks against actors, that had the words “construed as anti-national habit, attitude, and mindset, and unconstitutional” to be expunged.

When granted the permission to challenge the court order, Senior advocate Vijay Narayan, who appeared on behalf of Joseph Vijay stated the actor was ready to pay the taxes, but wanted to expunge the adverse comments that “created a negative publicity” and could be “hurtful to any person”.

A two-judge bench of Justices M Duraiswamy and R Hemalatha stayed the judgment of a single judge bench, which was highly critical of the actor, and allowed him to remit the entire tax amount. Vijay has to pay the 80 percent of the entry tax within a week of receiving a new demand notice from the authorities, as he had already paid the remaining 20 percent.

Bhavani Devi, India’s first fencer to win a match at the Olympics

26th July 2021. Bhavani Devi has been preparing for this day for years. She became the first Indian fencer to qualify for the Olympics and even win a match. But she had to bow out of the games after losing the second match to world top 3 player Manon Brunet of France.

Born on 27 August 1993 in Chennai, the youngest of 5 children, Bhavani came across her calling quite accidentally. When she had to sign up for a mandatory sport activity in grade 6, she chose fencing only because all other options had filled up by the time she joined.

Muruga Dhanushkodi Girls’ Higher Secondary School, a girls high school that prides itself on teaching pupils to feel proud of being born a woman, taught her the art of sabre in 2004. And instead of being worried that it was a fairly unknown sport, especially for women, she took it upon herself to become one of the nation’s best.

It wasn’t easy, as she didn’t come from a well-off family. Bhavani’s father was a temple priest and her mother was a homemaker. She didn’t even have enough money to afford an electric sword to train with. Bhavani had to make-do with bamboo sticks and borrowed swords at the tournament.

The sport inspired her and motivated her to become better every single day. As did her mother.

In addition to travelling expenses, Bhavani’s family also had to buy fencing equipment. Not the one to give up, her mother, CA Ramani, borrowed money for tournaments and pushed her daughter’s limits so that she could achieve what she wanted.

Continuing her studies and her fencing training at the same time, Bhavani had to depend on scholarships to get through. She now holds a bachelors & masters in Business Administration.

Loaded with struggles and triumphs, her story is an inspiration to many young women in India, and she herself drew inspiration from women pioneers in sports, like Sania Mirza and Serena Williams.

Breaking down, she apologized on her social media saying she did her level best but couldn’t win. She thanked the millions of Indians who supported her, her Coach Nicola Zanotti, her Mental Trainer Angelo Carnemolla, her mother, and all the people and media houses of her home state, Tamil Nadu, who were praying for her success, and handled it with dignity and grace.

Social media flooded with praise for her achievement, and consolation, saying that the nation is proud of her..

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the people who praised her, calling Bhavani an inspiration, saying ‘You gave your best and that is all that counts. Wins and losses are a part of life.’ Bhavani said his words gave her the confidence to work hard & win upcoming matches for India.

Bhavani Devi’s story doesn’t end here. This is just the beginning for her, and millions of young Indian men and women who seek to excel in the sport they chose.

Bishop of Syro Malabar Church wants his flock to have five children, promises cash and other incentives

In Kerala, Bishop Mar Joseph Kallarangatt of the Syro Malabar Church Pala diocese has announced incentives for all families in their diocese if they have five or more children and this would be applicable to couples who have been married after 2000.

The announcement was made while the Bishop was taking part in an online meeting organised by him and now posters have come out which explain the details.

It is strange because such an announcement could not have come at the worst time when the entire world has been struggling to control population growth. However, the powerful Bishop of the influential Syro Malabar Church has also offered financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month for families, scholarships for engineering studies, and free medical aid for pregnancy-related needs from the fourth child.

Among the sops that have been offered in the poster, which reads: “Year of the Family, Live the joy of God’s love includes a monthly scholarship of Rs 1500, starting from the fourth child and to all future kids of a family, will be given education with scholarship at the church-run St Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, besides free medical facility for every child after the fourth will be offered at the church-run hospital”.

“Often, families stop having children after the second or third child is born because of the increasing expenses involved in raising them. It is in such a context that we decided to provide a minimum financial assistance and other benefits to families. Moreover, we also took into account the call for a larger family concept of the Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council. The Church has been promoting more children in families for long. We have decided to take it seriously against the backdrop of the Covid pandemic and the Year of the Family celebrations,” said Fr Joseph Kuttiankal, director of the Family Apostolate as per the New Indian Express report.

However, when questioned the bishop acknowledged that it was he who said this and that he stands by what he has said as Church authorities will come out with a detailed statement about it.

Delhi HC upholds lower court’s verdict on IMA head Jayalal, asks him to not use IMA for propagating his religion

After Indian Medical Association (IMA) president Dr J A Jayalal contested the trial court order asking him to not use the IMA platform for propagating religion, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday (July 27) dismissed a plea filed A Jayalal against thus upholding the verdict of the trail court.

A suit had been filed against Jayalal last month before a Dwarka court alleging he had started a “malicious and defamatory” campaign against Hinduism by promoting Christianity “in the garb of proving superiority of Allopathic medicines over Ayurveda medicines in treatment of Covid patients”. The suit also alleged that Jayalal was misusing his position as president of IMA and using the pandemic as an opportunity to convert medical students, doctors and patients to Christianity.

Additional District Judge Ajay Goel on June 3 had noted that the suit seems to be an offshoot of the “verbal dual” relating to the Allopathy vs Ayurveda controversy. The court asked Jayalal to “not use the platform of IMA for propagating any religion and rather concentrate for welfare of the medical fraternity and progress in the medical field.”

The court had also said that any word spoken by Jayalal at the public platform “shall relate to his responsible position therefore responsibility to act cautiously rests heavily on the shoulder of the person who is having a higher position…Even his casual remarks have a great impact on society.”

Jayalal had approached the High Court against the order and argued that he was not using IMA to propagate Christianity. He further contended in his appeal that the prima facie conclusion drawn by the lower court was “completely wrong”.
