Former AIADMK Minister Jayakumar gives stinging rebuttal to PTR over latter’s abusive Twitter rants

In a scathing rebuttal to Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan, former AIADMK Minister D. Jayakumar said that the former’s abusive rants on Twitter is unbefitting for the post he holds.

He said that Palanivel Thiagarajan who has become a Minister for the first time seems to have taken it to his head and has been talking like a person who is mentally disturbed.

Giving a lesson on the evolution of GST, the AIADMK leader mentioned that it was because of late former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa that GST compensation was made possible for larger producing states like Tamil Nadu. He also said that during the UPA regime of which the DMK was a major alliance partner, the Central Government had around ₹4080 crores of pending arrears to be paid to Tamil Nadu.

“You could have said that you (DMK) will walk out of alliance if the amount is not settled. You had that many MPs. Instead, for the sake of power, you pledged the rights of Tamil Nadu people. You not participating in the recent GST Council meeting can only be seen an extension of that.”, AIADMK leader Jayakumar said.

Quoting a song of late AIADMK founder MGR, the former Fisheries Minister said that with power should come humility.

“It seems like you and the word ‘civil’ are far-fetched. I think you must have left whatever little of it (civility) in America itself. One who acts like he knows it all is nothing but a narcissist.” the AIADMK leader lashed out Palanivel Thiagarajan.

“Even I am educated. I’ve 2 degrees. I was an outstanding student both during my B.Sc and Law studies. But I never roamed around with so much arrogance.”, former Minister Jayakumar hit out.

“You might have learnt economics from textbooks. You might have worked for big corporates and rich people. But I’ve been a Minister since 1991 and learnt finance and economics through experience. I am student of Puratchi Thalaivi Amma.” the AIADMK leader said pointing out that economics in theory and practice are completely different.

He said that it was laughable for Palanivel Thiagarajan to say that he had skipped the GST Council meeting in 2017 as he (Jayakumar) had presented the Tamil Nadu budget on that date (March 16, 2017) in the Assembly.

The AIADMK leader concluded saying that Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan must stay away from Twitter and abusing people and instead start thinking about welfare of the people.

Palaniel Thiagarajan has been making headlines for matters unrelated to his portfolio. He has made a number of contentious statements against different public personalities on his social media and frequently indulges in cyber-bullying of even common netizens.

Recently, he had spewed abuses on journalists, opposition politicians as well as common netizens who had questioned him his non-participation in the recently concluded GST Council Meeting at Lucknow.

100 years of Malabar Hindu Genocide

Hundred years ago, in 1921, well before anyone heard about ISIS or Taliban, a militant mission to establish an  Islamic State, right in Malabar, was executed by a group of native Muslims.(Moplahas). More than fifty-thousand Muslim men  took part in that Islamic State militia causing countless casualties within the Hindu population of the region.

The violence kick started in South Malabar on 20 August, 1921, and lasted for over four months, resulting in the imposition of martial law in six out of 10 Taluks in the then Malabar district. More than one lakh Hindus were displaced or fled from their native village. Most of them were left as refugees in relief camps or in relatives’ homes. A lot many lost their life-long earnings and livelihood forever.

For a period of six months armed bands of this Islamic militia roamed over six Taluks of Malabar district and terrorised its Hindu population. They unpeashed barbaric atrocities on Hindus. Massacres, gang-rapes, arsons, pillages, loots, destruction and desecration of temples and forcible conversions of Hindus etc. were rampant during that period.

Thousands Hindus lost their life for being Hindu, thousands of Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam, hundreds if not thousands of women were assaulted in the most barbaric way. The armed Moplahas resorted to unparalleled cruelties against Hindus for refusing to embrace Islam.  Flaying people alive after pouring boiled water on them, forcing Hindus to dig pits and burying them alive on the same graves they dug, removing foetus after ripping off the wombs of pregnant women, dumping Hindus dead or alive after hacking them into wells or other water bodies etc. were some of the methods used by the perpetrators upon the Hindu victims.

Life-less bodies of Hindus floating in rivers and ponds like rafts were reported from Malabar. Many known and unknown wells in Malabar in which corpses of Hindus being dumped after beheading them for refusing to embrace Islam, were common.

Now, 25th September is observed as Malabar Hindu Genocide day to commemorate the countless victims of Islamic terror in Malabar. 25th September is the day on which nearly fifty Hindus were beheaded and dumped into a well in Tuvur village of Malabr district. What happened in Malabar in 1921 was a morbid crime against humanity. This year happened to be the 100th year of that gruesome genocide.

In order to prevent the reoccurrences of such inhuman crimes in future, this day is red-marked as Malabar Hindu genocide day in history.

PM Modi holds bilateral summit with Australian and Japanese PMs

After Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States announced the formation of AUKUS just days ahead of the first in-person Quad summit held in the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral meetings with his Australian and Japanese counterparts in Washington DC on Thursday (23 September).

When PM Modi met with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, both leaders discussed a broad range of issues of bilateral, regional, and global importance.

The last bilateral meeting between Modi and Morrison was the Leaders’ Virtual Summit held on 4 June last year, when both nations decided to elevate their relationship from Strategic Partnership to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In their latest meeting, both the leaders under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership had resolved to continue close cooperation for mutual well-being and towards advancing their shared objective of an open, free, prosperous, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region, the PMO said in a release.

“They expressed satisfaction at the ongoing negotiations on a bilateral Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA). In that context, they welcomed the visit to India by former Australian Prime Minister Mr. Tony Abbott as PM Scott Morrison’s Special Trade Envoy for India, and noted the commitment of both sides to achieve an early harvest announcement on an interim agreement by December 2021,” the PMO said.

Later in the day, Modi also held a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart Suga Yoshihide who took over from Shinzo Abe with whom Modi shared a very close relationship.

PM Modi thanked Japanese PM Suga for his personal commitment and leadership in enabling great advances in the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership over the last few years, an official release said.

PM Modi also congratulated his Japanese counterpart for successfully hosting the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games in the midst of a global pandemic. Indian athletes had performed admirably in both games winning a record number of medals.

“The two Prime Ministers reviewed the multi-faceted relationship between the two countries and exchanged views on recent global and regional developments, including in Afghanistan. They reaffirmed their commitment towards a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. They agreed to enhance bilateral security and defence cooperation, including in the area of defence equipment and technologies,” the release said.

Modi and Suga also welcomed the launch of the Supply Chain Resilience Initiative (SCRI) between India, Japan, and Australia earlier this year as a collaborative mechanism to enable resilient, diversified, and trustworthy supply chains and Modi called for the highlighted need to develop bilateral partnerships in manufacturing, MSME and skill development.

Japanese PM Suga informed PM Modi that in order to operationalise the Specified Skilled workers (SSW) agreement which was signed earlier this year, the Japanese side would be undertaking skill and language tests in India from early 2022.

Also, in a boost for the implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advance efforts to facilitate the project in a smooth and timely manner.

Raza Academy protests against Saudi Arabia for building cinema halls in Mecca and Madina

The radical Islamic Raza Acadamy based in Mumbai which supports the Sharia law has protested the decision taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under its Vision 2030 plan, to allow the building of cinema halls and entertainment centers in the city of Madina.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is home to Islam’s two most holy sites, Masjid al-Haram also known as the Great Mosque of Mecca which is also home to the Kaaba and Madina, home to the vast Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) and the Raza acadamy is dead set against the opening of cinema halls in this two places.

But what this radical Islamic outfit does not understand is that the Saudi Arabia is now going through a change and wants to be diversifyed and reduce its dependency on oil which is its number one source of income.

Under the leadership of Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia wants to become  a modern pluralistic country and wants to develop other sectors such as health, education, and tourism. But such reforms are viewed with hostility Islamist Muslims across the world, especially in India and Pakistan.

Now the Raza Acadamy is protesting against this new development by running a campaigns on social media platforms urging King Salman of Saudi Arabia to reverse the decision and called for a ban on cinema halls in Madina Shareef.

Mohsin Raza wrote, “Muslims go to holy cities to ask forgiveness from Allah not to commit sins by watching movies”. Later a protest was organised in which one could hear slogans of, “Saudi Hukumat Murdabad” and Muslims in India held placards that read, “Saudi Government Must Stop Desecration of The Holy City of Madina Munawwarah”.

https://twitter.com/MohsinK08774179/status/1440957663261515780?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1440957663261515780%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.opindia.com%2F2021%2F09%2Fsaudi-arabia-kingdom-cinema-halls-madina-city-islam-raza-academy-sin-india-pakistan-muslims%2F

From Pakistan, Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani who is a former judge, Islamic scholar, and current Vice President and Professor of Hadith at Darul Uloom Karachi in November last year had said, “Now there are plans to set up ten cinema halls in Madina too,”.

His tweet also mentioned that the Saudis are planning to build 28 shoping malls, ten cinema halls, 32 restaurants, 2 locations for entertainment, 19 open areas, and more on King’s Road. The project was expected to be completed in 14 months which means work has already started

However, the commercial establishments will be outside the boundary of the holy place, as per reports.

Raza Academy is not new to controversies because in February 2021, the academy forced BBC to issue an apology for hurting the sentiments of Muslims as they ‘displayed a portrait of Muhammad’. They also bullied the Maharashtra government Of Shiv Sena, Congress and the NCP to give permission to carry out the Eid-e-Milad procession during the Covid pandemic.

Members of Raza acadamy also provied to be a huge problem when Saeed Noori, the founding member of Raza Academy, had claimed that the Chinese vaccine contains pork and urged the Indian government not to order it and he and 125 other members from his group were booked for violating social distancing norms amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

In August 2011, Raza Academy held a protest at Azad Maidan ground against the alleged atrocities on Muslims in Assam and Myanmar, and then rioted which led to the vandalising of public property and they also attacked police personnel.

India to test fire Agni-V ICBM in October, MIRVed missile test will take another 2 years

India is all set to conduct the first user trial of the Agni-V intercontinental-range ballistic missile (ICBM) in October, a Times of India report said and the test will be conducted in full operational configuration.

A while back India had issued an area warning for a 3,000 km-long zone in the Indian Ocean for the launch of an experimental flight vehicle and as per a New Indian Express report, the missile was to be tested in September 23-24 September.

The report had also stated that the missile would be test-fired with multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles or MIRV technology. However, the Agni-V launch says “it will take another two years for a MIRVed missile to be flight-tested”.

Having MIRVs technology would allow India to fire just one missile that will deliver multiple nuclear warheads to different targets compared to traditional missiles that can carry one warhead.

An earlier report in ToI had said which now stands dismissed that of the claim that the Agni-P missile test-fired in June this year had a MIRVed warhead was “highly-miniaturised” missile “included decoys”.

Developed in the early 1960s, MIRVs allow a missile to deliver multiple nuclear warheads to different targets. While traditional missiles can carry one warhead, an MIRVed one can carry multiple warheads.

“Warheads on MIRVed missiles can be released from the missile at different speeds and in different directions. Some MIRVed missiles can hit targets as far as 1,500 kilometres apart,” a factsheet on the website of the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation says, adding, “It requires the combination of large missiles, small warheads, accurate guidance, and a complex mechanism for releasing warheads sequentially during flight.”

As of now the US, Russia, France, the UK, and China have MIRV technology, and Pakistan reportedly tested one in January 2017 using its Ababeel medium-range ballistic missile, which has a reported range of 2,200 km. But this claim of possessing the MIRV technology remains unverified.

Pak Cricket Board gets ₹27 lakh bill for Biryani consumed by security deployed to protect NZ Team

After the New Zealand Cricket team left Pakistan at the 11th minute of the tour, the embattled, cash strapped and beleaguered Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now been handed over a food bill for Rupees 27 lakhs for the Biryani consumed by the security personal deployed to protect the New Zealand team from Islamic terrorists.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed who is the Federal Minister for Interior and has a habit of making outlandish statements in an interview said Pakistan had deployed more security forces to protect the New Zealand team which is much larger than the New Zealand armed forces.

https://twitter.com/ShkhRasheed/status/1440057811723952134

Now it is clear that the large security detail has slapped the PCB with an approximate cost of ₹27 lakhs just to pay off the food bills of the officers who were in charge of the security of the touring team.

According to several reports, there were five SPs and over 500 SSPs (police officers) that were provided for the security of the Kiwis along with the Pakistan Army in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and these security personal were served Biriyani twice a day.

The PCB should also perhaps be grateful to the English cricket board for cancelling the tour because it is most likely that the board would again be presented with a bill worth lakhs of ruppes to pay for biryani for the security personals.
