BLM denies circulation of flyers calling white people their “enemies”

Amid the Black Lives Matter movement in the United States of America, a photo of a flyer that says that white people are their enemies and it is okay to direct hate to white families was widely circulated on social media platforms.

The Black Lives Matter organization denied sharing that flyer and said that the message of the flyer circulating in their name contradicts their beliefs.

Similar photos circulated on Facebook, Instagram, and on Twitter.

The group has also been the target of misinformation, including social media posts that seek to undermine its aims and values.

“BLM Global Network did not release any flyer with the ‘white enemy manifesto’ nor was it posted or shared on any of our social accounts,” Kailee Scales, managing director of the Black Lives Matter Global Network, said by email.

“We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities. We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people,” its website says.
