Anarchist Cockroachiya Two-Bit YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Shares Reel Instigating Gen Z How To Sabotage Police During Protests

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has shared an Instagram Story featuring a reel from an account named ‘papaakaapara’ that lists ways to evade police surveillance and counter police action during protests, while repeatedly presenting the suggestions as things people should not do.

The video uses reverse psychology, telling viewers not to use equipment and tactics that could help them counter police measures during demonstrations. Among the suggestions are using lasers to interfere with police cameras, tennis rackets to throw tear gas shells back, and other equipment to evade surveillance.

In the video, the person says, “Things you should not do if you are going in a protest. These lasers will spoil police cameras so don’t use them at all. To throw back tear gas shells, do not take your tennis rackets. To escape surveillance and cameras, do not take cameras like this. Don’t puncture the buses which are being used for detaining people. Do not download and install bitchat app through which you can speak to people around you without internet. So don’t install it. When police lathicharge, you can protect your legs with these shinguards but do not protect them, it is a bad thing to do, so don’t do it. You can protect yourself from swimming goggles and masks, so do not use them at all… ”

The reel also mentions puncturing tyres of buses used to detain protesters, installing the Bitchat messaging app for communication without internet access, and using shin guards, swimming goggles and masks to protect oneself during police action.

Rathee’s decision to share the reel brings its suggestions to a wider audience, including young people who may be engaging with protest-related content online. Although the video couches its suggestions as warnings against what viewers should do, its repeated references to specific equipment and tactics can be read as indirect encouragement to use them during protests.
