Content creator Arpit Sharma known for his pro-leftist online commentary, also the son of an AAP politician Vikas Sharma, is in the news once again.
The last time he was in the news for the sedition case filed against him for reportedly ‘praising‘ the violent protests in Nepal and urging Indian youth to follow their example.
His recent posts about his wedding have come under the spotlight and netizens are contrasting them with the posts he made ridiculing Hindus.
Sharma, who previously ‘advised’ Hindus to not burst crackers for Deepavali, has himself had crackers burst during his wedding.
Posts circulating on social media claimed that “massive firecrackers” were burst at the venue, leading to “extreme pollution,” loud music late into the night, and garbage accumulation. One user, claiming to live near the wedding venue, alleged that the celebrations caused difficulty in breathing and that “basic cleanliness was not maintained.”
Sharma’s past posts were widely shared. In one earlier post, he had commented on Diwali firecrackers, writing in Hindi that fireworks should not be burst but lamps must be “lit doubly”. They contrasted this with the showed celebratory imagery from his wedding captioned, “It didn’t happen… it just flowed.”
Meet clown @iArpitSpeaks, hypocrisy at its peak 🤡
According to him, Diwali crackers harm the environment.
But crackers at his own wedding suddenly purify the air and heal the ozone layer 🤡I live near the venue where his marriage took place, they brusted massive firecrackers,… pic.twitter.com/vZi7Q1oXCK

This is a perfect example of “selective environmentalism” and “elite hypocrisy,” where pollution concerns are amplified during Hindu festivals but overlooked during private celebrations.
