Under President Xi Jinping, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) using ‘Eugenics’ has claimed that its eradication of “religious extremism” of the Uyghur people who are Muslims living in the Xinjiang province has resulted in a fall in the birthrate because the Uyghur women now are more confident and independent in their choices.
This information was shared in an article in its mouthpiece the People’s Daily which proudly declared that the birthrate and natural population growth in Xinjiang has come down because of the effort to eradicate religious extremism, i.e Islamic extremism has been successful.
The paper proudly says, they have “emancipated” the minds of Uyghur women and they are “no longer baby-making machines,”
However, in reality, many Uyghur women as per reports have been medically sterilized. But this accusation of forced mass sterilization has been strongly denied. However, the communist state is actively pursuing birth control measures with long-term effectiveness wherein Uyghur women have been given drugs or injections during there time at the internment camps that caused them to lose their menstrual periods or experience increased bleeding.
To further give this achievement official seal of approval, the official Twitter account of the Chinese Embassy in The US tweeted, “Study shows that in the process of eradicating extremism, the minds of Uygur women in Xinjiang were emancipated and gender equality and reproductive health were promoted, making them no longer baby-making machines. They are more confident and independent.”.
A Chinese government study says, “In the process of eradicating extremism, the minds of Uygur women were emancipated and gender equality and reproductive health were promoted, making them no long baby-making machines, women have since been striving to become healthy, confident and independent,”.
As per the one-party rule ideology of China which until recently forced its own Han Chinese to only have one child alleges that Uyghur women now have more autonomy in deciding whether to have children. They claim that extremists had incited people to fight family planning and the abolition of extremism the Muslim women of Xinjiang now have more freedom.
However, there are reports of where the state has offered free surgical sterilization and if they do not comply they are threatened with internment which would mean they may not be able to see their children for years.
Adrian Zenz, a German researcher on Xinjiang, had published detailed research where he alleges that China has systematically forced women to have birth-control devices inserted or to undergo sterilizations, and even forced abortions.
There have been several reports of China imposing its will on the Uygur Muslim population. by forcibly sending them to reeducation camps and making them eat pork and drink alcohol. China has also destroyed many mosques that are hundreds of years old and is on the quest to erase the history of Uyghur culture to assimilate them.
There are videos of China removing Arab style domes, Islamic decorations and Arabic scripts from mosques across the country.
In what could only be called a case of vandalism using state power, the communist government in China demolished a mosque in Atush (in Chinese, Atushi) city, in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) and turned it into a public toilet.
Also, the CCP since 1949 has increased control over the remote Xinjiang region by playing demographic politics by
increasing the number of ethnic Han Chinese residents in this region.
Also, the CCP believes that excessive population growth impacts the per capita and impacts availability of resources and sources of income giving rise to “religious extremism and secessionism.
The fact is CCP wants to suppress minority population growth while boosting the Han population through increased births and in-migration and for that, they are willing to take any draconian measures by imposing forced methods of birth control to decrease minority population growth.
China does have the problem of Islamic terrorism in the Xinjiang province bordering Pakistan and it uses brutal methods to control radical Uyghur Muslims.
