TVK chief Joseph Vijay took a direct swipe at DMK’s Senthil Balaji during his address in South Chennai.
He was meeting his cadre and addressed the gathering.
He said, “The whole world was watching live how I came from the people to Karur, how quickly I came there, and shamelessly you are placing the blame on me. Don’t you have no conscience? Fine, let us say you did nothing at all, sir. Then why, sir, did you make one of your slaves, someone who had contested only in Karur, only in the Karur region, for 20 years, run all the way to Coimbatore?”

It is noteworthy that Senthil Balaji who had for long contested only in Karur is now contesting from Coimbatore South constituency. Also, the Karur stampede during Vijay’s rally back in September 2025 that killed 41 including children occurred in the same town. The two blamed each other for the tragedy.
