Dravidian Model Fascism: Anti-Hindu Dravidianist Separatist 'Thirumurugan' Gandhi Intimidates Reporter And Demands Tamil Janam Mic To Be Removed From Press Meet

A press conference at the Chennai Press Club descended into controversy after May 17 Movement coordinator, terror-sympathiser and anti-Hindu ‘Thirumurugan‘ Gandhi launched into a lengthy, hostile tirade against Tamil Janam television channel and its journalist, accusing them of bias and spreading falsehoods.

Gandhi, during the event, explicitly refused to engage with the Tamil Janam reporter, stating, “We don’t want Tamil Janam. I don’t consider it as ‘press’ at all.” He repeatedly singled out the channel, alleging past misreporting. “Last year, when we gave a press meet regarding Amaran, Tamil Janam twisted what we said, spread what we never said, and created a huge problem for us… When you spread false news like that, how can we see you as a media outlet?” he questioned.

His remarks escalated as he linked the channel to the RSS, calling it a “rotten” outlet and stating, “We don’t want an RSS channel.” In a particularly aggressive warning, Gandhi said, “As a precaution, we are telling you now: if your press people come next time, we’ll throw them out.”

The Chennai Union of Journalists (CUJ) issued a strong condemnation, calling the act of excluding a specific media organization “shocking” and “never acceptable.” The statement emphasized that the Press Club is a “common organization for all” where news should be shared “without distinguishing between individual journalists, news organizations, political background, caste, religion, or language.”

Echoing this sentiment, TNM Senior News Editor Shabbir Ahmed stated, “The Chennai Press Club is common to all media! Do not bring politics here! It is not appropriate to isolate specific media organizations in public events for political reasons!”
