₹200 crore worth temple land occupied unlawfully with politician’s help

A series of petitions have been submitted to various departmental officials in an attempt to reclaim 200 crores worth of Mariamman temple land from the occupiers.

Mariamman Temple is one of Salem’s most well-known temples, situated in Periyakollapatti. Several allegations have been made that 200 crore rupees worth of temple property has been occupied by encroachers with the help of government officials. Swaminathan Gounder(75) has filed petitions with several departments, including the Revenue Department, requesting action for retrieval of those properties. He also said that if no action is taken within 15 days, he will take the case to the court.
