“You D*g, You’re A Dead Body”: DMK Councillor Booked For Derogatory Remarks Against CM Vijay; Mayor Priya Rajan Seen Laughing In Presence Of Senior DMK Leaders

A DMK woman councillor has been booked by the Greater Chennai City Police for allegedly making derogatory and defamatory remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at a party event in Chennai on October 7. The remarks, made in the presence of senior DMK leaders including MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and Chennai Mayor R. Priya, have triggered a political row between the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and the opposition DMK, as reported in Vikatan.

The case has been registered against Sudha Deenadayalan, the DMK councillor representing Ward 95 of the Chennai Corporation and the party’s Chennai East District Women’s Wing Organiser, and Muralidharan, who organised the event, police said.

A clipping of the speech went viral.

In the video clipping, she is heard saying, “What type of an Assembly is it; you are seated there and You dare speak ill of our leader, you dog! My leader is 74 years old, what is your age, you dog! You are only 52 years old. I will make my leader stand there and you stand. You are a dead body, with cotton in your nose and garland. But my leader is a lion, he is handsome. Try to do a real regime, you claimed power because of Reels. I accept it. But I am not like that. We talk about our organization’s achievements, work hard and conduct protests…”

The meeting was organised by the DMK’s women’s wing and women volunteers in the Parrys Corner area of Chennai. Kanimozhi, former minister P.K. Sekar Babu and Mayor Priya were among those present on the stage.

Visuals from the event appeared to show Priya and Sekar Babu laughing during the speech, while Kanimozhi was seen with her head lowered. The footage drew criticism from TVK leaders, who questioned the conduct of the DMK representatives present at the event.

The DMK women’s wing, however, maintained that Kanimozhi and Sekar Babu had immediately objected to Deenadayalan’s remarks and reprimanded her at the venue.

The police registered the case following a complaint from TVK Harbour Area Secretary Udayakumar, who sought action against Deenadayalan and Muralidharan. According to a police release, the complaint alleged that the remarks were intended to incite public disorder. The police are investigating the matter.
