Anti-India slogans were found on the crash barriers installed along the Mettupalayam and Kotagiri Road. One illegally painted graffiti in English read, “India impose NEET. Tamil Nadu Quit India,” while another in Tamil stated, “Down with India” (India Ozhiga). A concerned citizen captured this etching on video and shared it on social media, causing it to quickly gain viral. Police have been urged to take immediate action in response to this incident.
Is it a coincidence that whenever #DMK comes to power in Tamil Nadu such Anti-India elements get emboldened?

Against the backdrop of the Tamil Nadu Assembly’s unanimous resolution on 28 June 2024, opposing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and urging the central government to approve the state’s NEET exemption Bill, it is coincidental that graffiti expressing anti-India sentiments appeared on crash barriers between Mettupalayam and Kotagiri roads. The resolution, initiated by Chief Minister M K Stalin, reaffirmed the state’s longstanding objection to NEET, citing its adverse impact on medical education opportunities for rural and underprivileged students, and deeming it unnecessary for school education.
The resolution called for the abolition of NEET and urged the Union Government to approve Tamil Nadu’s NEET exemption bill, which proposes admitting medical students based on 12th-grade marks. It criticized NEET for promoting malpractices and recommended amendments to the National Medical Commission Act for its nationwide abolition.
The Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Bill, 2021, also known as the NEET exemption Bill, remains a contentious issue between the DMK government and the Tamil Nadu Governor’s office, awaiting approval from the President of India.
Exploiting these sentiments, miscreants defaced road crash barriers with anti-India slogans.
