Vijay’s Uncle Xavier Britto Sends Legal Notice To Maridhas For Video Exposing Loyola-Vijay Connections And Alleged Fraudulent Activities

In a developing situation, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief and actor-turned-politician Vijay’s uncle, Xavier Britto, has decided to send a legal notice in response to the allegations made by the YouTuber Maridhas. Maridhas recently exposed the alleged Loyola syndicate and its connections to Vijay.

YouTuber and political commentator Maridhas recently disclosed a series of allegations, supported by documents, claiming that the Loyola syndicate, under the banner of the “Society of Jesus,” has taken control and heavily influenced internal decisions. These allegations include involvement in benami transactions, fraudulent activities, and a deeper web of corruption aimed at benefiting Vijay’s family. In response, on 8 November 2024, Vijay’s uncle, Xavier Britto, issued a legal notice on his behalf. On 22 November 2024, Maridhas announced on his official X account that he would continue his exposé.

Loyola Syndicate – Vijay Links

Maridhas traced these allegations back to the early days of Vijay’s acting career, starting with films like Naalaiya Theerpu (1992), Senthoorapandi (1993), Rasigan (1994), and Deva (1995), except for his first film, produced by Vijay’s father, Chandrasekhar, under VV Creations, all the others were made by XB Film Creators, owned by Xavier Britto, Vijay’s uncle. Britto has not mentioned this relationship in his PR despite producing these films.

This raised suspicions that led to further investigation, which led to another of Vijay’s uncles, Xavier Alphonse, who served as principal of Loyola College from 1992 to 1995. It is alleged that he embezzled or misappropriated society funds amounting to ₹2 crores, which were then allegedly funnelled into movie studios to kickstart their ventures. All of this supposedly occurred with the knowledge of SA Chandrasekhar, Vijay’s father.

All these allegations emerged in the context of an RTI request made by Mary Rajasekaran regarding the committee inquiry report that led to the dismissal of Vijay’s uncle, Xavier Alphonse, from Loyola College. She sought access to the related documents, but there has been no response—only a simple denial.

He also alleged that the issues extend beyond lobbying and the creation of syndicates, with numerous accusations surfacing regarding harassment of women, financial mismanagement, tax evasion, benami transactions, and a religion conversion mafia linked to the Society of Jesus.

It was highlighted that Vijay intentionally evaded disclosing an additional income of ₹15 crore during the financial year 2015-16, only revealing it under pressure in court later. Furthermore, until the release of his movie Mersal in 2017, he made statements under the heading “Jesus Saves,” raising doubts about his sudden advocacy for secularism, which many view as hypocritical.

Sexual Harassment Allegations

TVK Vijay’s uncle, Xavier Alphonse, has also been accused of sexually harassing a woman who worked with him in the Loyola Alumni office. The harassment allegedly occurred after the woman brought to light his plan to siphon off the college’s corpus fund into his personal trust.

This accusation was further validated with the international human rights organization ‘Ending Clergy Abuse (ECA)’—a global network of activists focused on children’s and victims’ rights—became involved.

ECA, which advocates for an end to clerical abuse and demands accountability from the Church, issued a statement warning Xavier Alphonse. The organization called for a thorough investigation and for justice to be served, criticizing the Church’s structural mechanisms that they believe enable such abuse to occur.

In a statement issued in August 2020, ECA expressed its full support for the All India Christian Forum in their fight for justice on behalf of Mary Rajasekaran, a victim of sexual harassment at her workplace by a Catholic clergyman. The incident took place at Loyola College in Chennai, and the accused is Father Xavier Alphonse, a Catholic priest. ECA condemned the actions of the Catholic institution, which allegedly prevented the victim from reporting the harassment to local authorities. The statement highlighted the shocking nature of the case, where the institution’s protection of the accused further compounded the victim’s suffering.

Looting In The Name Of A Trust?

It is alleged that in 2013, when TVK Vijay’s uncle, Xavier Alphonse, was serving as the head of the Loyola College Alumni Association, he organized a fundraising event during which a significant portion of the funds was allegedly misappropriated. According to the allegations, half of the tickets for the event were sold with the false promise that actor Vijay would attend, targeting his fan base. It is claimed that 50% of the tickets were sold under this pretext, and out of the total ₹6 crore raised, approximately ₹3 crore was diverted to Father Alphonse’s personal trust.

At the same time, Mary Rajasekaran, who was working under Xavier Alphonse, reportedly raised concerns about these illegal activities. As a result, she was allegedly dismissed from her job without any legitimate explanation. The official excuse given was that she was employed on a contractual basis, but an investigation into her appointment revealed that there was no mention of her being a temporary or contract employee. This discrepancy points to a larger pattern of corruption and power abuse by the Alphonse family, suggesting that the alleged syndicate was operating with the full backing of Vijay’s uncle within the institution.

Furthermore, Mary was already employed at the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) based on her merit and performance. She had earned recognition for her work, and the head of LIBA, Kashmiri Raj, recommended her for the position. According to Raj, her appointment was permanent, and she was serving a probationary period.

Fake Threat Allegedly Orchestrated By Loyola Syndicate

In 2013, Mary Rajasekaran’s family, particularly her son Kennedy, suddenly received a notice from the Coimbatore Cyber Police instructing him to appear at the station, but without specifying any reasons for the summons. At the time, the family was based in Chennai. Whistleblowers have alleged that the directive came allegedly under SP AK Vishwanathan, who had close ties with the Vijay’s family. However, when the whistleblowers sought to verify the legitimacy of the notice and they dug out a Right to Information (RTI) Act, the response from the police station was shocking. According to the RTI reply, no such direction had been issued on the date or with the reference number provided, revealing that the police summons was fabricated. In 2018, the officer involved in this incident was ironically honored with an award as a “Loyola Star.”

This latest round of accusations paints a troubling picture of a family network allegedly involved in a wide range of unethical practices, with the aim of consolidating both political and financial power. The whistleblowers maintain that these activities were carried out under the guise of the “Society of Jesus,” using it as a shield for protection, and they claim the scale of the wrongdoing extends far beyond what has previously been reported.

Two Sides Of The Same Coin: Xavier Alphonse’s Atrocities At Loyola College; Xavier Britto’s Lavish Life

On one side, Xavier Alphonse, one of actor Vijay’s uncles, has been accused of committing serious atrocities at Loyola College in Chennai. As the former Director of the Loyola Alumni Association and a priest, Xavier Alphonse allegedly siphoned off nearly ₹1 crore from the college’s funds, misappropriating money meant for the institution and funneling it into personal trusts. In addition to financial corruption, he has been accused of sexually harassing an employee, Mary Rajasekaran, who had raised concerns about his fraudulent activities. Instead of taking action against him, the college administration allegedly silenced Mary, transferring her to another office, eventually forcing her out of the institution without due process or explanation.

In the meantime, Mary’s son, Joseph Dominic Kennedy, sought justice through Canon law and the Vatican, though the response from church authorities was minimal. In 2019, after facing repeated disappointments, Team Hail Mary, led by the All India Christian Forum, wrote to the Indian Prime Minister, prompting further investigations. This led to a renewed inquiry by the Jesuit Curia, but Loyola College continued to deny responsibility.

Mary’s case was eventually taken up by the National Human Rights Commission and the National Commission for Women. However, despite support from international groups like the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), there was a deafening silence from the local Tamil Nadu media, the Catholic Church, and influential figures in the South Indian film industry, including her relative, actor Vijay. Despite these grave allegations, Xavier Alphonse remained untouchable, shielded by his position within the powerful Loyola syndicate system.

On the other side, Xavier Britto, another of Vijay’s uncles, was embroiled in a separate controversy involving St. Britto’s Academy in Velachery, Chennai. Xavier Britto, who was the chairman of the school and also the producer of Vijay’s film ‘Master’, was accused of charging exorbitant fees from parents during the pandemic. Even though schools were closed due to COVID-19, St. Britto’s Academy allegedly collected full tuition fees, including ₹67,000 for online classes for LKG students. Many parents, already struggling financially due to the pandemic, protested the high fees. In response, the school allegedly removed students from online classes if their fees weren’t paid, further escalating tensions. Despite the protests, the school administration, backed by Xavier Britto’s wealth and influence, continued to shield itself from any accountability.

While Xavier Alphonse faces accusations of corruption and abuse within an educational institution, Xavier Britto runs a luxury lifestyle funded by his educational ventures. He owns 85 luxury villas on Chennai’s East Coast Road, a multi-billion-dollar logistics business (Kerry Indev Logistics), and continues to shield himself under the name of his educational trust, all while allegedly exploiting students and their families. Both men, part of the same family, seem to be untouched by the law or public scrutiny, hiding behind institutional titles and their connection to the “Society of Jesus” syndicates.
