Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary SG Suryah has raised concerns over the substantial increase in the number of movies produced by Red Giant Movies, an Indian film production and distribution company led by Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is associated with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. In a recent tweet, Suryah highlighted the significant surge in film production by Red Giant Movies, pointing out that the company had produced only 41 films from 2008 to 2021. However, within a span of just two years, from 2021 to 2023, they have released 35 films.

From the two parts of Ponniyin Selvan and Kamal Haasan – Lokesh Kanagaraj Vikram to small budget films and films starring himself, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Red Giant has become a monopoly in film distribution business.
This sudden rise in production has attracted attention and speculation, leading to questions about the source of funding for these projects.
Adding to the controversy surrounding Udhayanidhi Stalin and Red Giant Movies, the TN BJP President Annamalai recently released a series of documents titled “DMK FILES” alleged discrepancies in the assets held by DMK party members. Annamalai specifically targeted Udhayanidhi Stalin, questioning the origin of the assets linked to the production house. He noted that while Udhayanidhi Stalin had established the production house in 2008, it faced several failures until 2011. Annamalai further claimed that the valuation of Red Giant Movies’ assets amounted to ₹ 2,010 crores, raising concerns about the legitimacy of these assets and seeking clarification on their source.
These allegations and counter-allegations have intensified the political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu. The spotlight on Red Giant Movies and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s association with the company adds another layer of scrutiny to the unfolding political drama in the state. As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how Udhayanidhi Stalin and the DMK party will respond to these allegations and provide clarification regarding the assets in question.
