Thiruvallur police have arrested a district deputy secretary of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) for allegedly demanding money from a private gun factory in connection with the birthday celebrations of party chief Thol. Thirumavalavan.
Police said the accused, identified as Kumar, had approached a factory in the Nungambakkam area of Thiruvallur district and demanded money in the name of the party leader’s birthday. Following a complaint lodged by the factory manager at the Manavalanagar police station, officers registered a case and took Kumar into custody.
He is currently being questioned, and further investigation is underway.
