VCK District Treasurer On The Run After Police Raids Counterfeit Currency Notes Printing Unit

In a major crackdown on counterfeit currency, the Ramanatham police raided a shed in Atharnatham village near Thittakudi in Cuddalore, allegedly used for printing fake notes. The shed, located on land owned by Selvam, the district treasurer of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), was found to house counterfeit currency and printing equipment.

According to police sources, Selvam and his associates fled the scene upon spotting law enforcement officials approaching. A subsequent search of the premises led to the seizure of fake currency worth ₹83,000 in ₹500 denominations, along with a walkie-talkie, an air gun, a pistol, a printing machine, a currency counting machine, and a bundle of specialized paper used for counterfeiting.

The police have launched a manhunt for Selvam and his accomplices, who remain at large. Meanwhile, in response to the developments, the VCK has ordered Selvam’s removal from all responsibilities, including his basic membership in the organization.
