The Vadapalani Murugan Temple in Chennai has let out an announcement stating that the temple will bear the marriage costs if either the bride or groom is physically challenged.
The announcement in Tamil reads, “As per the orders of the Hon’ble TN Chief Minister and according to the notification given by the HR&CE minister in the Assembly, if any one of the two in a couple are physically disabled, then the temple will not charge for the marriage of the couple. In addition, if the marriage takes place in the wedding hall owned by the temple, then only a maintenance fee will be charged by the hall.”
This announcement has been placed as a board in the temple and was shared by film producer Jayam S.K. Gopi on twitter, appreciating the efforts of the HR&CE Minister Sekar Babu.
