Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been introducing various initiatives and schemes to develop industries in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In another move, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the state government to take steps to encourage the production of eco-friendly vehicles in the state. He has envisioned to transform the state of Uttar Pradesh into an industrial hub for manufacturing electric vehicles (EVs).
A spokesperson for the government said that the state government was also trying to make it an excellent centre for providing research, certification and testing for the manufacture of electric vehicles.
“Projects have been received from various international automobile companies to set up electric vehicle manufacturing centres in the state. We will do all we can to help them develop industries in the state,” Adityanath said. He added that this would play a key role in improving the country’s economy.
He also spoke about the road tax exemption and registration fee exemption for EVs to encourage people to go for electric vehicles. He also stressed on the need for e-rickshaws and the need for training e-rickshaw drivers, following the rules of the road and paving the way properly.
