UN designated terrorists are the new cabinet ministers in Afghanistan

The Taliban have made UN-designated terrorist Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund as the interim government leader in Afghanistan, reports Hindustan Times.

Akhund will be the interim PM of Afghanistan, and Taliban’s co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar will serve as one of Akhund’s two deputies.

it was Akhund who had led the talks with the US which had resulted in the signing of the deal between the two sides and paved the way for the US withdrawal.

Other members of the new Mullah cabinet are Amir Khan Muttaqi acting foreign minister, Mullah Yaqoob, son of Taliban’s founder Mullah Omar, will serve as the acting defense minister.

However, the most controversial name to be in the cabinet is Sirajuddin Haqqani, leader of the Haqqani Network, who will serve as acting interior minister in the interim Government. Sirajuddin Haqqani is responsible for many attacks on the US and NATO forces and also carried out several suicide bomb attacks that led to thousands of civilian casualties.

It must be noted that five people in the newly announced cabinet are UN-designated terrorists and Haqqani network has been named a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the United States and Sirajuddin Haqqani carries a reward of five million dollars and is still on the FBI most wanted list.
